More news on the game from IGN. It appears this game will have the classic controller style as an option. I'm a bit skeptical about this as it may limit the gameplay somewhat.

Your favorite buggy game?
Segataritensoftii replied to Serguei2's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Race Drivin' on the Sega Genesis! Whoooo! Watching your car randomly fly off the track is hilarious. It's fun seeing an accident happen normally, though. -
Your thoughts on franchises gone 3D?
Segataritensoftii replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Well guys, it seems the move to 3D was just the beginning. It's going to get a lot Or maybe not. I don't think there will be nearly as much of a drive to go 4D as there was for 3D. Besides, we don't actually live there. -
Your thoughts on franchises gone 3D?
Segataritensoftii replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I personally like 3D games and find it amusing to see how various franchises handled the transition, but I'm okay if you don't like it. I think the worst thing about 3D platformers is that the models that could have worked well were either outright ignored(Jumping Flash games) or never made it out the door(Sonic Xtreme). Am I the only one who finds Mega Man Legends incredibly awkward? I look at the Jumping Flash games and think about how well a 3D Mega Man game would've worked around a similar formula. And I think I'm starting to become disheartened over Lemmings 3D. Level 2 is unusually difficult. If only there was a downwards facing camera so I could get a better look at my green-haired friends! If only the levels were easier! If only the game was isometric instead of in troublesome polygons! Sigh... Sonic Robo Blast 2 handles Sonic in 3D quite well, although admittedly it's a bit harder to control than the 2D Sonics. I think the game that handled the move to 3D the best was Pong. 3D Paddle Bash on the Mac changes it from something hopelessly dull into one of the most fun games ever. -
2nd Worst fangame of all time
Segataritensoftii replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Will anyone post anything? it's rather lonely here. -
To a retro gamer, the third dimension is like a beast. It chews up franchises and regurgitates them, often leaving them without their charm or fun factor. Because of this, most classic gamers instinctively fear 3D and try to keep away from it. So I wanted to ask you, when did you see your favorite franchises go 3D? Did it cause you to stop believing in said franchise? Or, barring Mario 64, did it make it the best game ever? What was the worst 3D game you've ever played?(barring Bubsy 3D) How would you make the 3D versions better? I'd really like to know. Update: Just found a really interesting article on 3D games. It offers some nice design tips and talks about what went wrong when games started moving into 3D. I kinda wish the article was written in 1995 instead of 2003. If that happened, there might have been a lot less crappy "me too" 3D evolutions of franchises out there.

My ideas were picked up!
Segataritensoftii replied to Segataritensoftii's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
Okay, then I will! For info about this, go to my other topic. It seems Nintendo has heard about my ideas and is trying to make game systems based on my first and third concepts. The systems, called the Nintendo OMG(pronounced awmg) and the Nintendo BS will be making their way to store shelves on march 12, 1895 in Walla Walla, New Hampshire, Cowgamonga, Jupiter, Seattle, Washingmachine, Hyrule, nowhere, and Whatsasagipedia, Japan. Nintendo is currently trying to create and perfect a method of time travel in order to meet this release date. The games will come on cartridges that will come in boxes the size and shape of a pack of hanafuda cards. The OMG's launch titles will include Super Mario dimensions, Ultra Smash Bros. 66666666666667: The ultimate borenament, OMG pork, and Zelda: The return of the return of the etc. of Hyrule, while the BS' launch lineup will have Warioware: crap on a stick, Nintenergyballz, Wii megacollection part 314159.14159, and Yoshi: the day the developers ran out of ideas and put him on a black screen. What do the masses have to say about these awesome systems? For the OMG, Rick862879281 of Nolife online forums praises: OMG NANOBOTZ!!!!! THYS OP3NS up SO MANI NOO P0S1BILIT3S N CONS3PTS I KAN HARLY BEL3VE M1 EYEZ!!!!! THIS IZ SOO FUN 1 WANT 1T NOW!!!!!11!!!1111111!!!!!!!11 lamer3.784397945 of noobzorz.com has this to say about the BS: ZOMGZOMGZOMG U CAYN RECH INT00 TEH SCR33N N T1CH STUF!!!!! DIS IZ SOO KEWL ND S3W F0N ITZ FIKIN JENuS!!!!!!! THiS WiLL B3 T1H BAST KOMZOLE IN TEH UN1V3Rs3!!!!! Edit: It seems that the release date has been pushed back to Never and will be available exclusively through The Mall at The End Of The Universe, which can be accessed through a conveniently placed wormhole leading to the universe of The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy The wormhole can be found on planet Dellawarez. So, How did I do? Please tell me you're ROFLing right now. -
A top 10 worst video games list that doesn't suck?
Segataritensoftii replied to Gabriel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I see someone is liking my list enough to make a spinoff. Just be warned, though, you're going into very risky and dangerous territory. Chances are, someone's going to disagree with something on the list, no matter how much you tweak it and move things onto and off it. That said, here's a few things I'd like to see on the list. Jupiter Strike (PSX): Horrible draw distance and slow, clumsy controls make this one sorry Starfox clone. Karate (2600): A horrid excuse for a 2600 fighter. The fighters look like they're dancing with each other and occasionally kicking each other in the nuts. The control sucks too. And if you're going to have PC games, put in: Sonic Mega Quest (Windows 3.1 and up) Widely regarded as the worst fangame of all time by many, this game includes a generic storyline, zero gameplay(You walk around, and... you walk around.), and terrible graphics(the sonic characters look like they've been run over by a mack truck). It feels like you're playing a powerpoint slideshow. Crash(insert name here) (Windows 98) If you want to know how NOT to make a Game Maker game, you've come to the right place. This game has grey backgrounds galore, pitiful level design, and meaningless bosses that all do the same thing, just with different variations in movement. (In fact, 90 percent of the game IS bosses.). -
Just to clear something up for all of you, reflexion means puzzle in French. Some people who use French as their native language often use reflexion in English conversation.

I've noticed that these two forums are gone. I feel that any forum without a general disscution forum in it can get very boring. What happened to it? Is it on maintenance or something? I had this cool topic about "The awesome power of the WWW" that I wanted to post there that was going to include information on this legendary thread on Nsider where everybody exchanged information and got educated about quantum physics and gravity and such.

No, the train game isn't Gunpey. I think it was Densha de Go or something like that. That "train game", if it's the one you are thinking of, isn't a WonderSwan exclusive. It's on a bunch of systems in Japan. There were even custom controllers made for it. Gunpey is a puzzle game where you try to match up lines. It has nothing to do with trains. Wikipedia entry on Densha de Go Ah.

I just put Halcyon on the list due to popular demand. It was in the honorable mentions list for a while. The train game was called Gunpey. I think there was also a version on the DS. And no, I will not put Wonderswan on the list. It might go on the honorable mentions though. Edit: Turns out the train game isn't Gunpey at all. It is known as Densha De Go. Come to think of it, I will put on the Aquarius!

I've compiled a better list, But it has game systems, not games. You can check it out if you want.

I found this on the GMC forums a while back. The topic title said "my cool game" and the subtitle specifically said to "plz rate". It turned out to be the worst, most hideously malformed thing ever created with Game Maker. This "game" involved leading Crash Bandicoot (if that's what the tiny, unrecognizable blob of pixels was supposed to be) through 2 "levels" and then fight boring, unimaginative bosses. If I were to describe this game through a mere description, it would take a large encyclopedia, as no amount of words can describe this train wreck from hell. It's weird, boring, unfun... I...just can't find the words. The best parts of this game are probably the music, and this lovely bit of dialog. "hi im crash bandicoot you will see me alot cause im the main character". Yes, that's the best the creator could come up with. Since I don't use Windows anymore, I can't provide you with screenshots, but I can provide you with a download link! Can you stand the horror that is Crash(insert name here)? Check the attachments to download. PS: I know this is a stupid topic. My next one will be better, I promise! :takes pity: update: Screenshot added! Now you may see the everloving crap that is this game. Crash__Insert_name_here_.zip snapshot1.bmp

What games suck more than E.T.?
Segataritensoftii replied to Shaggy the Atarian's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Probably forever. None of the versions were too good anyways. -
Oh my God, me and Gabriel agree on something. I need to mark this in a calander or something. I think the O2 gets a bad reputation for nothing. I know i have fun playing it, and can't picture why other people don't. Hey, if you don't like KC and KTAA, that's your loss. O2's been taken off the list along with Atari XEGS. By the way, I actually do like KC munchkin.
