  1. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (Playstation) I always liked how the Spyro games made the collection part of 3D collectathon platformers palatable and even fun. This game is no exception, although the orb challenges tend to get pretty frequently annoying. I forgot how much I hated the speedways in Spyro and then ended up remembering that they weren't so bad after all. I kept thinking how interesting it might be to have multiplayer Spyro battles while playing the Ripto fight.
  2. Are you sure you don't mean Dragon's Lair? The two games do look kind of similar to each other. Maybe you confused them.
  3. If it's any consolation, Desura and GOG are storefronts which are largely free of the BS you would find on a more traditional digital platform like Steam. All games on GOG and many on Desura are completely DRM free and can be downloaded and played without needing to install their respective clients. The cons are that GOG is Windows-only and mainly stocks older games, and Desura is focused around smaller-time independent games and doesn't stock AAA titles.
  4. Have you tried the sequel, Swampy's Revenge? It apparently fixes a lot of issues with the first game.
  5. Rayman Origins (PC Windows) Ethay Ubblebay Eamerdray eakspay biubay ubbiday. Ellway alancedbay, allengingchay, nterestingiay, adnay eryvay, eryvay unfay. Etsgay itequay ardhay ybay ethay ndeay.
  6. Speaking of Dark Castle on the Sega Genesis, what about Dark Castle on the CD-i? That version is somehow infinitely worse. inb4 try the Mac version if you don't like Dark Castle
  7. Not really. I'm not really sure it counts since it was an unofficial hack job.
  8. Let's see: Karate (Ultravision/Froggo) (Atari VCS/2600) Pit Fighter (SNES) Any late 80s American home computer port of an arcade side-scroller except for Rastan on the Apple IIGS. That was cool. Sonic (C64) Yes, this exists.
  9. Here are some lesser known gems that people here might have missed: FPS: Exhumed/Powerslave Disruptor Misc: Gridrunner Magic Carpet Shmup: Raycrisis Internal Section Action: Ghost In The Shell RPG: Threads of Fate Alundra 2
  10. Probably the Beagle Bros. Anyone who can make an 8-bit Apple II game run as smoothly as I.O. Silver did gets an instant favorite in my book.
  11. I'm vaguely interested. If it turns out to be anything like as good as the Pac-Man Worlds, I might pick this up if I ever have a Wii U in my posession.
  12. The Game Boy Color version is basically complete, actually. http://www.freewebs....es/TyrianGB.zip The download is fully legal and creator-endorsed, as far as I can tell. You can visit the guy's website here.
  13. Hidden gems, you say? Shantae (May be a bit obvious) Harry Potter RPGs Wendy - Every Witch Way Croc 2 Tyrian 2000 (unreleased; maybe you could use a flash cart) Tomb Raider: Curse Of The Sword Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six Toki Tori Rareware Mickey racing games (basically RC Pro-am with go-carts) I haven't played all of them, but I've heard good things.
  14. I've always loved the simplicity of machines like the Archimedes and the 8-bit Apples. They're very "pure" computers. The Archimedes was somewhat simplistic, but incredibly powerful for the time. The fact that it could keep up with X86 without any significant upgrades for years after it was released was a testament to the power of ARM.
  15. Any puzzle game that lasts long enough eventually gets impossible for me. The Incredible Machine series comes to mind. The Evo's Escape level on Space Station Silicon Valley has been my gaming nemesis. I've never been able to beat it.
  16. I'd fund this if I could. The Wii U needs as many games as it can get.
  17. Have you tried Miner Wars 2081? Franchises that need a hiatus: EA Sports EA Sports EA Sports Mario EA Sports I'm a little too fond of Sonic to say it's overdone Franchises/games which should be resurrected: Simcity (properly, this time) Dungeon Keeper single-player Mechwarrior
  18. You could probably dodge the paddle since it can only move in one direction, but the ball might be tricky. Then again, you might be safe if you live out on a huge prairie or desert.
  19. From what I've heard it's a pretty good game, but there's a little bit more railroading than there probably should have been. You can explore during the main game, but you kind of have to go out of your way to do it.
  20. Fantasy Zone 2 (NES) Fantasy Zone (NES) Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (PC Windows)
