  1. Please put a space between all of your commas and the words after them next time. Thank you. Anyway, the ST had a larger library of games in its early lifespan, if that's anything to go by. There were also some nice games that didn't show up on the Amiga, such as Oids, Super Sprint, Gauntlet 1, etc.
  2. The Mac wasn't aimed at competing with the Amiga or the Atari ST. That was the Apple IIGS's job. And the IIGS was indeed a 16-bit system. it used the 65816, a 16-bit CPU.
  3. Renegade on the Apple II. That game tried to have sidescrolling AND background music on a platform suited for neither. There was also that C64 port of Hard Drivin' with the abysmal draw distance where it was impossible not to control the car like somebody wasted on six bottles of Vodka. Just about any conversion of a 5th or 6th-gen console game to Game Boy Color or Advance comes to mind. Toy Story Racer tried to look as much as possible like a 3D console racing game by streaming an FMV clip of the track you were racing on.
  4. ...and wants you dead. What do you do to defend yourself? It's not chronologically a Retro game, but Soulless is for the C64, a retro platform: http://www.psytronik.net/main/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=97:soulless&catid=34:commodore-64&Itemid=57 I'm not sure what I would do to defend myself. I guess the main character is mortal, so that's a plus for me. But he's really strong. He could take me out in one blow if he wanted to. I guess I could put furniture in front of my door, and then I could throw my bins at him. They're good and heavy.
  5. So this isn't the sequel to the wireframe GB mech game?
  6. Have you ever seen I.O Silver? Isn't there a sound routine for the Apple II that allows you to play back crystal clear 8-bit samples?
  7. 1. Kirby's Adventure (NES) 2. NiGHTS Into Dreams (PS2) Already beat this on the Saturn many, many times, but whatever. 3. Kirby Superstar (SNES) 4. Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES) 5. Kirby Star Stacker (GB) 6. Kirby No Kirakira Kizzu (SNES)
  8. Almost all of Kirby Superstar is pretty ridiculously garish looking. Not quite sure what the artists were thinking with that one. Um, how do you embed a video?
  9. Nintendo, like Japan, is a company that won't change their ways until they absolutely have to. IMO, they will only start being nicer to third parties when their first party exclusives stop selling and/or they really start to hemorrhage money on their console business.
  10. It is possible to create a reasonable approximation of Doom on the VCS. E.T is the absolute worst video game ever made. Ultravision's Karate is better than E.T.
  11. This one's a little too short and simple for my taste, I'm afraid. Perhaps you could add something extra, such as randomized enemy placement or an "endless" mode with a steadily increasing difficulty level? As it is, this feels more like a tech demo than a complete game to me.
  12. Judging by how long it's been taking for the 3DS to be hacked, I probably wouldn't expect the Wii U to be hacked until close to or after the end of its commercial lifespan.
  13. I see you are presently quite naive. Or you could just be trolling...
  14. A Fairchild VES with the hardwired controllers.
  15. I really wish they would come out with a Windows version. It looks perfect, but I'm not interested in installing a whole other OS just to run it.
  16. Zoombinis; Specifically any level which involves quirky characters talking to you. Skate or Die 2: The Search for Double Trouble Rocket Knight Adventures M.U.L.E Prince of Persia
  17. I personally thought that the bosses were one of the sequel's strong points. Race mode could have been cool if the developers had remembered that going through rings actually made you move faster in the original. From what I've heard, the controls for the port are worse than on Saturn and better than on PS2.
  18. I like that a lot, especially the rear foot. That looks a lot more like walking and less like "shuffling." I would be very satisfied if this sprite were used. However, I wonder if this might look better with the adjusted white eyes. I'll have to combine the two sprites later when I get home & find out. KevinMos3, really thank you for your opinion. I drew this sprite to pursue a sole objective: to approach the counterparty arcade in the best possible way. This was my only aspiration. Kevin, you probably be able to make more beautiful the sprite, and again, I really love the excellent graphics created by Illya, but a graphics closer to the arcade version does not necessarily mean also have a graphics "better" or "nicer", it's just a choice. Personally, after thirty years, I'd be happy to see Bentley back with their original appearance, while the large white eyes seem more suitable for Bentley Junior (maybe a sequel? ), but this is just my opinion. However, only a suggestion. KevinMos3 thanks again for your kind availability. Bob, Illya, we know that this amazing game is not only the fruit of yours great talents but is also the result of much hard work, so it is extraordinary that you also find the time to devote to our reflections. You are truly special people. Sincerely Marco Just to point out.You don't have to put each sentence on a new line. You also don't need to put words after commas on a new line, like this. It would be so much less awkward to read your posts, if you separated your sentences and commas with a space, like this. You also don't need to sign the end of your posts with your name like you would a letter or email. Sincerely, Segataritensoftii
  19. A relatively joyless Macintosh Classic II. No games, no color, and no internet. I occupied my time typing up gibberish in Word and printing it out, although I did have fun with a Macpaint disk I found one day. In 1999, my family received an IBM Aptiva with the blazing fast AMD K6-2, a color monitor, and the almighty Encarta Reference suite 2000.
  20. Decided to pick this one up on a whim because Psychonauts.
  21. 1st Gen: VCS. I'd choose Odyssey 2 just to stand out, but the VCS' library is just too good. 2nd Gen: Colecovision 3rd Gen: NES, although I'm tempted to choose SMS because it's uncommon, and it has a good enough library that it competes very well with the NES. 4th Gen: Genesis, but that's only because of my preference for Sega. 5th Gen: Playstation, Although if I could choose computers I would get a Windows 95 PC with Pentium MMX and an SB16. Plenty of nice console ports to play plus lots of multimedia adventure games. 6th Gen: PS2. Most variety by far.
