    But....It's April Fools Day. 

     

    Fun fact: Did you know on April Fools Day of 1997, Jim Davis the creator of Garfield was invited to do a comic strip with Dagwood Bumstead from Blondie, while Drake Young and his team from Blondie did Garfield and Jon Arbuckle.

     

    According to Wikipedia, They participated that was known as "The Comic Day Switcheroo". It was a massive practical joke in which several comic strip writers and artists were involved for the readers to be pranked.The idea was created by  Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott, creators of the Baby Blues daily newspaper comic strip.

     

    Here's actual newspaper clippings from Jim Davis and Drake Young's involvement. :)

      Given the cat in question, it really doesn't surprise me that he'd pick one that, let's just say, presented a challenge.  He's been fine since I watched him do it, so who really knows?

    Speaking of which, on New Year's Eve of 1990, Jim Davis created a strip of Garfield mentioning of another year has passed. However, he received letters of complaints on having Garfield say "sucked" in his strip. Which turns out to be one of the readers favorite strips on Garfield's best negative emotions towards Monday. :D
