The good old USPS got its three-cent rate hike approved, in a move aimed at stemming the $5 billion that the post office says it lost in the last fiscal year. The change—which brings the cost of a first-class stamp to 49 cents—goes into effect on Jan. 26 for no more than two years, notes the AP, and the Postal Service hopes it will allow it to recoup some $2.8 billion.

The USPS loses tons of money from internet bill pay, that's where the losses are mainly from. I don't feel bad for them, on the one hand the gov't wants us all to be as green as possible by paying bills online, but then feel bad for USPS gov't workers? Nope, no sympathy at all. They can cope along with the rest of the working class who don't get gov't bailouts
