      I had a 99 one. It was cute but never a great car. I ditched it before 80K miles.

       

      A proper Golf made in Germany would have been better than my Mexican-built bug, I think.

       

      I havne't seen hardly any VWs in the area since the diesel fiasco. It was almost like the days when they had all but pulled out of the US market.
