  I can save you tons of money. Instead of sticking with VHS, go with cheaper and more readily available DVD (STILL OLD TECH), and a jar of Vaseline. Smear vaseline all over yojr TV screen. Voila! VHS quality.

  I have a lot of anime that was never released on anything except VHS. If my current vcr croaks this might be nice just to have things like component output and a more modern upscaler.
