  1. Who remembers going to Toys R Us in the mid-late 1990's when they had so much oversupply of NES games that they were selling them for so cheap that they put these huge dark orange stickers on them and they were particularity giving them away.

Panzer Dragoon Saga was once on clearance for 20 dollars, think about that.

I also remember a bin of SNES Harvest Moons for 10 bucks each, and Sega CDS for 20. I wish I had a time machine

  2. Who remembers Scotch VHS blank recording tapes. I found one out of my closet and remember 1988-1989 all over again!

      DragonGrafx-16

As someone who has a graphic design degree... (and who has always been into art and graphics) blank video tapes always had appealing abstract graphics on them, to me.

I remember my mom buying Scotch VHS tapes for recording her shows... My prefered brand for both video and audio recording though is Memorex which Radio Shack used to sell.

I remember some movies and Christmas specials my mom taped, and some Transformers cartoons I taped on those.  And some "Showtime After Hours" my stepdad taped. :)

I've seen T-shirts of the Scotch VHS cover!

  3. Whoa! A blast from the past I saw today. A Dodge/Plymouth Colt Vista. Anybody remember this car? 1920px-1986_Dodge_Colt_Vista_Wagon%2C_front_right.jpg

@bluejay: keeping a 505 Turbo running in this day and age, in North America, takes an enthusiast.  Believe me, our 505 is far from being a beauty queen, but we still drive it regularly.

      x=usr(1536)

@bluejay: given that Peugeot left North America in 1991, not many people who aren't enthusiasts are still driving them in this part of the world.

  4. Whoa! Remember these cups growing up in the 80's-90's. My local pizza parlor had them and I ordered RC Cola fountain soda in them. Solo Cup Jazz Hot Paper Cups, 16 oz., Polycoated, Jazz Design ...

Yeah, those generic Decony cups seemed to be everywhere growing up. Drive-In's, roller rinks, arcades, convenience stores, pizza joints, schools, you name it. [email protected]@k, here's some now!  lol

VERY 80s/90s design.  Like something you might see on parachute pants or high top pump up shoes or something.

^When I was a kid, we got my grandad's beautiful Blue '58 Plymouth.  I really thought those fins were wings and I was Soooo disappointed the car didn't fly when I first rode in it.  (It looked about like this)

Awesome Fury, Goldleader.  We had a '72 Fury wagon from when it was new until 1984.  Great car -- Sherwood Forest Green, 318ci V8, TorqueFlite AT, 9 passenger.

Speaking of Chevette, it was actually a world car -- Europe had Opel, Holden and Vauxhall versions.  Isuzu had a version, too.

Maybe not so much the wagon variant...But in the 80's I worked with a girl who drove a Dodge Colt.  I remember it well, probably because when we'd talk at work, she always referred to it as her little "sports car".  My first car ever was an '71 Opel GT, which I thought was more of a sports car (at least as far as looks go :)

  7. WHOA! Went out early this morning an saw a 1986 Toyota Van. I haven't seen one of those in years. Here's a pic I found on Google to show you. Anybody remember them?image.jpeg.0c47b2bef30278ab21fe943a3c3ae089.jpeg

I was just out of college, not even a year et.  When I graduated and got my job, I bought a Pentium 1 PC with a big, beautiful and massive 17" monitor.  It came with 3.1, but if I remember correctly - and I could be wrong - it came with a free upgrade to Win 95.  Either that, or I bought 95 shortly thereafter, because I remember the apartment I was in when I got that.  For some reason I remember my neighbor, a nice, old lady, had received the package and I had to knock on her door to get it.  I liked 95, for the most part.

  14. You know what I like? The insert coin "Bong" sound that Atari Games used on their arcade titles. How many games had it for gamers to input coins or tokens into the slot for them to hear?
