  1. I recently found a Sega Pico at a flea market in great shape with 3 games. I originally bought it for my son to use when he's old enough as that is what the thing is geared to, but here is my question:

Because the item is from Sega, would this system actually count as a collector item? When people ask what systems I own, I would not normally say Sega Pico because to me, it's like my sons Leap pad baby system, though it technically is a video game, it's not something that I consider part of my collection. But the Pico leaves me guessing. Don't know if i can tally it up with my other systems or not.

What do you guys think? Would you consider a Pico as part of your collection if you had one or not?

Yes, its a Video Game System in which collecters are interested in it. I would put it under a Educational Simulation System though. But its a Video Game System by Sega none the less.

  2. Thats not an ad for an Odyssey1

Thats one of the PONG machines Odyssey made. Not sure how many they had but I've seen the 200 300 500 2000 3000

    Odyssey 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 2000, 3000, 4000.

That's an odyssey 500 (1976) in the advertisement that they're giving away for free with the television. Wouldn't surprise me that they were doing that if its '79.

I'm a huge collecter, and I have all of the Magnavox Systems. I have 7 Neo-Geo AES Game Systems that are fully modified and are HDTV ready

  3. Hi Guys:

Remember the gentleman, Howard Scott Warshaw? The same programmer that made E.T. , Yars Revenge, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Well what ever happen to him, and what did he do after the Video Game Market Crash and what's he been up to lately?

  4. The book looks good. But I hope its not your typical Video Game book that rambles on, and on, and on and it simply gets dull. So far, Steven L. Kent's Ultimate History of Video Games is my Favorite so far.

My book is much different than a history book on games or an overview. It is a reference book. I profiled each game system, then wrote reviews/descriptions for each game. Every single game for every single pre-NES system has an entry. Entries include things like historical info, comparisons to similar games, comparisons to the same game for other systems, the type of game, and the basic gameplay for each game.

This is a fun-to-read reference book that I'm confident that retro gamers will enjoy.

  5. Hi Guys:

I'm interested in purchasing some Atari 2600 game consoles in big numbers. (Such as 4 or 5 of them at once). I accept the 4 or 6 Switch Systems with the Wood Trim or Vader look. Working systems I really prefer, but if unsure because of not having the correct equipment to test them on, that's fine to. If you have a bunch of them for sale in big numbers, and are interested in selling at a reasonable price, please let me know. Thanks.

  6. What do you think?

360, PS3? An older console like the Saturn, Dreamcast or PS2?

The Neo-Geo AES Home Cartridge System is (in my mind) the best in producing 2D Games. Using dual 8 and 16 bit processors, it was able to duplicate (not port) its Neo-Geo games from the MVS Arcade Machines. I have 7 of these babies in my home (all modified to the fullest capacity, and HDTV ready). :D

  7. David is a great guy. I saw a video of one of the recent CGEs and did notice that he has really put a lot of weight on since I interviewed him a decade ago. He's looking more like Keith Robinson from Blue Sky Rangers.

    Hi Guys:

Its just like they say " Old legends never die. They just get chubby" :!:

  8. Hi Guys:

I have a question to ask. Remember the four original programmers that started Activision Which were Larry Kaplan, Alan Miller, Bob Whitehead and David Crane?? Whatever happen to them after they created Activision and what have they all been doing lately.

  9. Here's my entry. See - you can tell it's Halo becuse you've got the Master C in a warthog jumping over Covenant logs on Halo. You can even see the curvature of the world so you know it's Halo... Pretty brilliant if I say so myself.

I'll start working on it as soon as I finish Links 2600 :)

    Hey Man, that's RAD

  10. Well its a question and a topic that I wrote. I like Halo and I like to see if anybody was interested.

Well then, here's what you do--

    1. Get a spare Space Invaders cartridge

    2. Get a big ink marker

    3. Write "COVENANT INVADERS" over the label

Ta-da! You now have your very own personalized Atari 2600 Halo game.

Cute, Yet better if you start from scratch.

  11. Maybe a driving game (like Enduro). Except, with the Master Chief in a Warthog. Driving past the Convenant members in their Ghost space cars.

This is exactly the sort of post that drives me nuts, because I can't figure out if the poster is trolling or actually that addle minded.

Well its a question and a topic that I wrote. I like Halo and I like to see if anybody was interested.

  12. Excuse me, but there is nothing insulting about saying "for my Personal Collection" 2. Asking for a price deduction is always part of business. 3. I didn't run a hissy fit because of not receiving the game, I was in retaliation of your actions for your quick actions, and harsh words to me. 4. You maybe on the post for awhile, but since I'm a new member, its a different story for me. Please be more careful 'Shawn Sr' in the future.

One thing about me is that love to give second chance, and start fresh. How about we be friends 'Shawn Sr' and let this be in the pass?

  13. Skip Paul and Ray Kassar told Joe Robbins, "You go over to Japan and talk to Namco, but don't sign anything with them" We (Atari) felt that they owed us money.

A week later Joe comes back. He's had his picture in the paper, signing this deal with the Japanese and playing with Masaya Nakamura on a golf course. He agreed to give them $ 1 million, and they got to renew their contract, but we got the rights to their coin-op games. At that point they had no hits at all.

It was like Jack and the Beanstalk, and Joe came back with these worthless beans. Well, one of those beans was a little game called Pac-Man. In retrospect, it was the best buy of the decade, but at the time, I think it pretty much cost him his job.

  14. Hi Guys:

Remember Activision's Venetian Blinds Demo game. I was wondering if there is anybody can make me a homebrew version of the game that has the same of everything that Activision's version has. Even with the same brown label. A exact duplicate!! If anybody can do one for me, please let me know. Its just for my personal collection. Thanks.

  15. Hi Guys:

I have 3 (three) Atari 2600 game consoles that are not working. 2 are the 4-Switch woody systems and the other is a 6-Switch System. If anybody would like to fix these systems, (at a real cheap price) please let me know. But first, let me explain the situation on each of them.

    1. The first 4-Switch system powers up normally however, it only shows a black, blank screen. If I play Adventure, or Pitfall. The black, blank screen is still there.

    2. The second 4-Switch system powers up and everything works, expect there is terrible static on the television screen in which you can barely see anything at all. You can see objects on the screen (slightly) but the static makes it different to see anything.

    3. The 6-Switch system is the bigger hassle of the bunch. The system doesn't power up, the switches don't work and because of these problems, the system is nothing more then a paper weight. In other words, this system is dead and I can't tell if anything else is broken.

If anybody can fix these systems at a real cheap price, please let me know. There just part of my collection which I purchase on ebay on a huge Atari System lot. They were a 50/50 chance of working and that the seller didn't have any equipment to test them on. I have gone to far deep with these systems to go back and fixing them is my chose so far. Like I said, if anybody can fix them at a real cheap cut throat price (used parts are prefered) please let me know. Thanks..
