I had the same idea as you a few years ago and i tried (and failed) to port the old C64 PD game Down the Chimney to the 2600. This is just an old concept-demo i made and i never got anywhere with it. But i think someone who actually can program could make a nice 2600 game out of it. Anyway, here's the ROM - have a good laugh! chimney006.bas.bin

What VIC-20 development programs are there for PC or MAC?
Impaler_26 replied to gorf68's topic in Programming
First of all you need a good emulator - i'd recommend VICE, a great C64 emulator which also emulates the VIC-20, C128 and PLUS4. -
You mean something like this?

ET is not a bad game, i played it a lot and still enjoy it nowadays. If you're looking for hacks - try these: E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial Easy Pits (E.T. Hack) (2001) (Scott Stilphen).bin E.T. - The Extra-Testical (E.T. Hack) (2001) (Christian Samuel).bin E.T. on Acid (E.T. Hack) (2003) (Brad Barratt).bin
-
Here you go: Sadoom (Kaboom! Hack) (2003) (Thomas Jentzsch).bin

Is this what you're looking for? GameLine Master Module ROM (1983) (Control Video Corporation).bin

My questions about my first program
Impaler_26 replied to Rabbit 2600's topic in 2600 Programming For Newbies
Also have a look at the sample.bas which is included with batariBasic, the enemy there follows the player... -
Batman Returns (SNES) King of Monsters (SNES) MMSBC (Atari 2600 / Stella)

I Made the Switch from CRT to LCD
Impaler_26 replied to boxpressed's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This thread is indeed fun to read. I'm still using a good old CRT TV and everybody else can use whatever they want. Why even discuss which is better? Just use whatever you like best and live with the fact that not everybody in the world shares your opinion. Just a "good" advice from an old fart... -
There's another homebrew - 21 Blue. Probably the best card game you can get for the 2600.

When did that happen? Looks like those repros were not sold on AA as this is the first time i heard about it. Or maybe i completely missed it?
-
Make that 6, you forgot to add Pink Panther to your list...
-
Pink Panther of course. It's a shame that finished games like Loco-Motion, Anteater and Pink Panther haven't been released to the public. Makes me wonder if it's really just because of "copyright issues"...? Would it really be such a big deal if those old 2600 games from the 80's were released ? I think no one except for us videogame-nerds would even care about it...

Loco-Motion is a good example. The ROM hasn't been released (yet?)...

my collection of Vic 20, Sord M5, Coco games
Impaler_26 replied to lucifershalo's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
Nice Collection! I never heard of the Sord M5 so i had to google it. Interesting machine. -
Yep, it was playable at the show. Check out the pics and videos from the show in this thread.

WTF? The guy who made this video is too stupid to play a video game and gets on my nerves with his stupid jabbering! This video is one epic FAIL!

The 3 previous games were horrible crap so why would anyone want to have Airworld?? Just to have the "complete" Series on the shelf? Might be reason enough for a few collectors who don't play their games... As the Guy above me said - a new game just called "Airworld" would just be a fake and not the real 4th game of the Swordquest Series. The Swordquest Series is incomplete, will never be complete and Airworld just does not exist. Live with it!

That's probably because of the long filenames. If you have the zip-file in a few subfolders the names of some files might just be too long for Windows. I had that happen a few times with Windows XP, i dunno how it is with other versions of Windows.

You can find a good description of how to play the game here: http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/saboteur/saboteur.htm

It's a simple but fun to play conversion of Exidy's Death Race (supports Joystick and Driving Controllers) which is included with batariBasic 1.0. Here's the original ROM: Zombie Chase (2007) (Fred Quimby).bin

Strange, the link works fine for me! Then just download Hacks and Homebrews V1.2b, it contains all the hacks i have in the other file except for the few i have attached here: Pac-Man_Black.bin Pac-Man_Black_Supercharger.bin Pikachu Smash (Zombie Chase Hack) (2008) (Davis Remmel).bin

Here are all the Hacks from the "Hacks and Homebrews Collection" i posted in 2009. The File contains over 1.000 ROMs so sorting through and adding them to your Collection should keep you busy for a while! http://www.sendspace.com/file/t6g5yb

The original game is obviously Marauder from Tigervision.

Check out these games made with bB (just a few examples, there are more great games made with bB): Gingerbread Man Phantom II / Pirate Cave In Dungeon
