  1. I played Mappy a few times in MAME, it's kinda neat but not fun to play. I would pay $30 for a really good game but i wouldn't even pay $20 for Mappy.
  2. ICE HOCKEY! BAD!? You and me after school. Boy you're gonna get it. Old people like me don't fight!
  3. Thanks. You did Crap Kong too? Yes, i did that one too! I totally forgot about this crappy "trainer-version" of Pac Kong, took about 1 minute to make.
  4. Wow, another load of ROMs to check out! Thanks a lot Rom Hunter!! Btw., i made those 2 lousy hacks called 'Gorfians' and 'Alien Battle', i was registered as Impaler here before i made a new account as Impaler_26. And just so you can scratch me from the "Still unkown Hackers & Homebrewers" list - my real name is 'Christian Giegerich'.
  5. Very nice!! You could easily make a game out of this, just add a crosshair and let the player shoot the windows flag!
  6. Nice Game! I haven't played this one much before but after a few tries i finally got the hang of it. I tend to lose my concentration after a while and crash into an obstacle or accidently shoot a fuel sign. I don't think i have the patience to get much better at it but i'll keep on playing over the weekend. 40,960.
  7. Yeah, i can look into the future!!! I saw the thread for Incoming! 2008 just shortly after i posted this. And here's a link to Down the Chimney for the C64. It's a neat little Basic-Game, would make a nice bB-Project... I should give it a try i guess..
  8. Hm... i see the following happen in 2008: Lead will be released on cart. Some nearly forgotten WIPs like Kablammo, Incoming, Gravity Ball, Fade Out and Death Derby will finally get finished and released on cart... The 2008 Holiday Cart will be a 2600 port of the C64 classic "Down the Chimney"
  9. I got my first 2600 Jr. in 1986 when i was 12 and it was my only machine until i bought a C64 in 1990. I had about 30-35 Carts at that time and sold a few of them later to buy C64 games... I lost some more to "friends" who borrowed games and never brought 'em back. :x I don't have my original console from 1986 anymore, it went dead after ca. 3 years. I got a replacement JR. for my birthday and i still have that console. And i'm also very happy that i still have 18 Carts plus a bunch of manuals from those good old days!! My friends and i also recorded many of our gaming sessions on cassette-tape, i still have those too and converted a few of them to mp3 already. Ah, sweet memories!!! We were young and careless, spending our time playing Atari all the day !! This old stuff is the centerpiece of my 2600 collection, i wouldn't sell it for a million bucks! As you can see on the pic below the carts look pretty beat up, i opened nearly every cart i had back then to see what it looked like inside... I also wrote my initials on nearly every cart so my friends won't forget to whom they belong when they borrowed some (dind't work for all "friends" though). You may also notice that one of my "dear friends" wrote the f-word on my air-sea battle cart...
  10. Laser Blast is the worst Activision game, without a doubt! Ice Hockey, Barnstorming, Fishing Derby, Double Dragon and Boxing also suck. Freeway and Dragster are at least somewhat fun when you play against a friend.
  11. Here's another hack for the 2600, Bobby is going home 2.
  12. Yep, i also mostly play games on my 2600 (or in emulation) and i enjoy the old classics as well as all the great homebrews much more than modern games. I play a PC game from time to time but usually get bored with it pretty fast. It's great that so many people still make new games for the 2600 and to have a place like AA to hang out! I don't know of any "secret" projects, but i'm looking forward to see Lead and Cave In released on cart in 2008.
  13. I finally took a look at your complete list (takes an awful time to load with 56k modem), great work! There were also a few hacks released for the 2600, the first that come to my mind are Santas Helper 2007 and Space Invaders Atari. And i also think all the atari games from the MGC 2007 should be on the list.
  14. Here's a site with a tool that might be useful for you: http://www.oldskool.org/disk2fdi/trial.html You should find all the infos you need on this board: http://eab.abime.net/archive/index.php/t-1074.html
  15. I think i found the thread with the fix you are looking for: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...%20fix&st=0 I also finally took some time to play the game and i really like it! Great job so far!
  16. Toyshop Trouble for the 2600 was released in 2006. There were also 2 limited releases for the 2600 you don't have on your list: Travi 7800 & Alien Greed.
  17. Why wait for reviews? Just download the ROM and check it out yourself! http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75038
  18. Too bad... i haven't bought TT (yet) and the ROM is not available. Nevertheless i hope everyone who owns the cart enjoys this weeks HSC, see ya next week!
  19. I just checked the current high scores and noticed an error. I scored 11,005 points (Post #20) and keilbaca scored the 9,213 points you noticed for me (Post #27). I didn't want to complain, just thought i'll let you know! Oh, and also thanks for running the HSC, i'm really enjoying it!!!
  20. Hm.... a Tank game is not a bad idea but a combat-like game in bB has already been started, Combat DX. So i think it would be nice to make it different from Combat, maybe something like Phantom Tanks?
  21. The link from your quote works fine for me! http://sourceforge.net/projects/dasm-dillon/
  22. I tried having more patience with the game myself but i didn't get much better so i quit playing this. But if you really wanna improve your score - cursing at the screen is the key to get better at any game (at least this worked for me most times)!
  23. Hm... that's a good question.... I watched the Boulder Dash video on Youtube and it really looks quite stunning, i wouldn't have thought it would be possible on the 2600. You've done a great Job on it! But i personally wouldn't pay $100 or more for a copy. I haven't been following the development of this so i don't know if you need a special board or an Eprom larger than 32k. If so i would be willing to pay up to $50 for a cart, i wouldn't pay any more for a 2600 game no matter how good it is or what kind of hardware is used for the cart. And IMO selling a 2600 cart for more than $100 (i guess we all know which one(s) i mean) is just plain and simple a major rip off, no matter what is included with it!!!
  24. Oh, how could i forget Cubis and Tetris 2600? But AFAIK the final version of Cubis is for the Supercharger and Tetris 2600 is a playable but unfinished WIP so those two also can't be put on a cart and sold in the AA store. Eckhard Stolberg is still around on the board so maybe he could make a new version of Cubis (although i don't think that it will happen)...
