1. Did you use WinRAR to unzip it? worked fine for me... Here you have the .bins! AlienBattle_Hack__NTSC_.bin AlienBattle_Hack__PAL_.bin
2. Nothing beats Phoenix, one of my favorite 2600 games since over 20 Years!! Demon Attack comes pretty close but i prefer Phoenix. The C64-Version of Demon Attack also has a Boss-Level, it would be really nice to have a new 2600 Version with a boss level.
3. This is very nice for a first try! If you wanna see a really crappy Hack check out my first try called AlienBattle.
4. Ok, so here's my first try at hacking a game. I tried to turn air-sea battle into a space shooter. It didn't turn out to well so just download it and have a good laugh! 5. Ah finally after looking through the 2600 Programming for Newbies Forum i found out how DASM works! And thanx to Dennis Debro's commented disassembly of air-sea battle i was able to change the colors Here's what i got so far, i still have to change the enemies colors and work on the pal-version. maybe i'll also try to change the sound-effects... P.S. : I checked out your friday the 13th hacks, they are great!!! AlienBattle_1.2_WIP.bin
6. Hmm... the best find i ever had were about 20 Carts and a pair of driving Controllers for Free!! That was about 7-8 Years ago. Sadly i don't have so much luck nowadays...
7. *lol* I just tried out this "great" SIPLIX-Hack and i have to admit it rules!! And i'd be seriously willing to pay 1 Cent for a Cart (including shipping).
8. Ok, so here's my first "Hack". I tried to hack Air-Sea-Battle into a Space-Shooter and its really a very easy Game to start hacking with. I'd like to change the background color to black to make it look a bit "spacier" but unfortunately DASM doesn't seem to work with Windows XP. Anyway, "enjoy" this little piece of poo! 9. Wow! This looks very nice! I'm looking forward to see the final Version.
10. I started "hacking" Air-Sea-Battle with Hack-O-Matic a few days ago.... It is so easy, even i get along with it!
11. I voted for Congo Bongo, it ain't no fun at all (just like the C64-Version). Missile Command would be my second choice. It's a rather good Arcade-Port but i really miss the Plane in it. I just wonder if it would have been so hard to include it on the VCS...
12. Bah... the VCS Version of Donkey Kong is just boring. While its a rather decent Arcade Conversion it is just too easy and that makes it no fun at all. play it for 5 minutes and forget it...
13. Ah.... E.T. I always loved this Game and still do. When i got it back in the late 80's i didn't have the Manual but after countless hours of playing i finally figured out how it works and brought E.T. home If you like Adventure Games you should also try out Dark Mage, but that one is a plain Text-Adventure without any In-Game Graphics.
14. Careful what you wish for. DK3 is a mediocre shoot'em up, sorta like Centipede crossed with Space Invaders. Greetings, Manuel 991442 I know, i played it on the NES and i liked it...
15. Hm.... i also think that Metroid should better be ported to the 7800. Super Mario sucks so personally i can live happy without a 2600 version. I really think there are more than enough of those "Mario" games on various systems... I voted for donkey kong 3 coz the 2600 versions of donkey kong and donkey kong jr. suck. a good donkey kong game for the 2600 would be nice.
16. This looks already nice! But maybe you should do the City in another color? all that grey looks quite depressing... Can't wait to try out a "playable" version of it
17. The worst game i ever played was Revolution X for the SNES. i still feel sick when i think about that one
18. That one looks really great!!! seems like another great homebrew is on its way.. will you include all 3 weapons of the arcade-version, or at least the smart-bomb?
19. Sounds good. I'm looking forward to take a look at your work! Canyon Bomber? Greetings, Manuel 989117 Yes, i just tried Canyon Bomber out and it really plays quite like it. But i think Blitz is more fun than that one...
20. argl... i couldn't upload it... can someone help me with that?? Anyway, in the Game i mean your constantly moving from left to right over a city. when your ship reaches the right border it will appear again on the left side, but a bit lower. The goal of the game is to destroy the complete city with your bombs before you reach the ground.
21. Nope, it's not the same as the Vectrex Game you mean. I don't have a C64-Version on my PC but here is a VIC-20 Version i found.... The C64-Version is exactly the same and i also have a lot of "Clones" of Blitz that have a Spaceship instead of a Plane... Ok, now download the Game and check it out....
22. yes give it a try! maybe it would even make a nice 1k game for next years mini-game competition..... too bad i don't know anything about assembler-programming.... otherwise i would give it a try myself....
