It looked good to me, if not quite doable in bB. Put it back up again, and I'll post some comments/suggestions. The main issue I noticed was not whether the sprite was possible on the Atari, but rather whether it could be accomplished in bB using either the standard or multisprite kernel. Michael I realized I'd accidentally distorted the pixel ratio to a 3:2 instead of a 5:3, which isn't doable in any form, is it? Rather than start over or continue to fight the space limitations of multicolored sprites, I started work on a more detailed skunk enemy. The color charts above are for background, sprite, and missile....I wasn't sure all 3 were available, to be used in any form that would make this work.

Picture the girl at the PC screen, playing her gameboy game on the big screen, because the little one is still too small to trust her with. Her eyes dance, as Nemo appears. "I want fishy!" She's three years old. Her mother shoots a thank you my way. The fish swims through the water, artfully arranging to smash it's little fish skull against every wall that stands in her way. It does no good, but she has patience. A half hour later, she realizes the wall is a worthy opponent, and asks for help. I show her the meaning of the word over. This lesson is ignored, in favor of "Adults will do things for you, if you ask." It takes her longer to unlearn this lesson, than it does to learn the fish's nose is not a bulldozer. But she does learn it. And she's off again. Until she meets the clam. Twice the size of her fish, it blocks off her exit. Mouth open wide, is it an enemy? She floats close, it doesn't move. With a sigh, I realize it's just another barrier getting in her way. She studies it carefully, thinking. Then she understands. Backing the fish up, tail first, she lays little Nemo into the shell. "Fishy go potty!" She announces. The game suddenly makes sense. All Nemo needed to do, was learn to use the toilet, just like she had. And she had taught him how, all by herself. This was the first time she realized, she could use her powers for good. The expression on her face was one I'll treasure forever. Until she ran head first into the next wall. "I...stuck...." She cries, aiming for an Oscar. But it was a start...

This looks like a fun game. Let's see, I think I'll add DoDonPachi and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as just two of the 2D games that are superior on the Playstation compared to the Saturn version. Just to make sure you aren't napping.

Removed due to quality concerns.

Any console, any computer, what demos stood on their own as a gaming experience? My top five - 1. Capcom vs SNK 2 (PS2 and XBox) - this is the entire Japanese game, missing only internet play. 2. Christmas Nights (Saturn) - What can make one stage worth replaying? Presents. More unlockables than many full games. 3. Tony Hawk 1&2 (PSX, DC, and Xbox) - How many demos can fuel a social gathering? Short runs and freeform play kept everyone happy. 4. Doom (PC) - what got us here. 5. Tomb Raider 2 & Gold (PC) - there are 4 levels out there, free for the taking. Sure, she's been overexposed, and the grid based play is love or hate it, but the level design is quietly classic, without being a steal of Miyamoto's design. Give it a chance, you may surprise yourself. Honorable mentions - Metal Gear Solid 2 ( How many other demos sold for the price of a full game? ) and Dragon Quest VIII ( Not for JRPG haters, but if you were there through NES and SNES, this is all your memories, given life. Bonus for some: It ends after just a few hours, something the complete game can't hope to offer... )

I'd like to see both, if possible.

http://homepage.mac.com/qubedstudios/StarF...jectDecoder.htm A still pic wouldn't be bad either, if something like that is out of reach.

Can the polygon models and sprites be separated from the games and placed on display? An enemy in a game seldom is seen for longer than it takes to press a single button.

when u own and love both systems (jag and n64) and have played extensively both, you'd have to be blind to not see the difference between rogue and battlemorph (or hoverstrike). hi-res graphics, sound effects, movement, music score, depth, there's a huge difference. it's like comparing graphics and sound of the 2600 pacman to the 5200 version.... Yeah, and there's no way you can play any other 5200 game on the 2600. No ports exist. This argument just ended...

Falcon vs Jaguar. Did atari make a step backwards?

I don't know whether it's good or bad - this is the first I've heard of the system. The only thing close to a Falcon site I could find, lists 22 games, with one sentence reviews. -

Yes...Atari worked with Flare....the only relation to the Jaguar is the 68k inside and nothing else..completely other planet in design and purpose. It also required a Jaguar controller for many of it's games. -

Wait. Before this thread gets locked, can someone actually show a few games? I've looked for a Falcon site with no success, Youtube has lots of demos, and one Joust platformer with no attacks... How bad can this system be? -

This sounds familiar... -
Apparently it can play all the GBA games, with full sound...I have no idea how they pulled that one off, unless they left the legacy sound chip, while removing the old processor.
-
Sometimes the Saturn was better at 3D.
-
Full sound, compromised graphics.

What mode are the digisounds of the GBA are usually sampled in? They seem to be like 8 bit or something? Nothing to complain about, stresses the retro feeling, but I thought it had higher quality. It varies. The original gameboy 2 channel sound chip is inside the GBA, and can be called on when a game requires the full graphics capability of the system without the performance hit. The GBA can do digitized music, with lyrics, where needed...I'll find a few examples...
-
Seconded. ^_^; Thank every God and devil you don't like RPGs....I think I can see light at the end of this tunnel...
-
What about with sound? The N64 has no dedicated sound chip - you need to budget for any music/sound effects...

Thank you! I'll make sure when I donate organs, you get first choice, soon as I find a donor. Looking over these screens, it looks like everything has a smooth, metallic glow to it, and the player's shape is where all the polys went. Is this true of the game itself?
