  1. What's with this "You owe me." attitude? I came in here, like you did, with ideas for games I wanted to make, but couldn't. But we couldn't be further apart. My game ideas were always designed with the programmer in mind, because if it's not fun for them, what's the point? What makes your game different than any other? You make it sound almost masturbatory. Ironically, my first idea was picked up, and it's my art I've struggled to give away when I try to help... I'm currently making a fool of myself, begging Mausboy for tips on what I can do to make myself useful. Maybe I'll succeed, maybe I'll go down as a punchline - But if I succeed, I'll have made the team, on my own merits, and nobody owes anybody a thing. We all do what we can, to elevate each other, and to strengthen the community. And to have fun. That's the important part. Btw: Many Japanese artists are also game designers/programmers. Miyamoto comes to mind. And if Americans can't make good looking games, then how do you explain Metroid Prime, Paper Mario, Doom 3 or Fight Night round 3?
  2. PC Engine Slime World Review. Translated, it says.. They prefer the Lynx version.
  3. I-War (a space sim) and Netwar (overhead shooter) were released for the PC. Neither is related to the Jaguar game.
  4. I found a review of the PC version, check this out - -Gamespot Is this true for the Jag version?
  5. You're waiting for a customer, you're waiting for a doctor, you're waiting for something better to do. Say you've got a few minutes to kill, what game do you reach for?
  6. I linked to the freeware Tempest remake, because it's freeware. I thought you guys might enjoy it. I really have no idea what else this thread is about, but free games are always a good thing, aren't they? Also, I don't have a Jag... Can you blame me for trying to find out what Jag games I can play anyways?
  7. My mistake in wording. Rayman was an official release. The Tempest game I linked to is a freeware remake.
  8. It used to be my favorite system. "Holy shit, this looks as good as NES!" It was fun to be poor as a kid - even a bad game like Karateka blew my mind. Title Match Pro Wrestling was horrible, but just bug testing it counted as play time. I watched Galaga playing in the system at a yard sale, and wondered if games could ever get better than this... Then I played Metroid. By the time I played Ultima Exodus, Dragon Spirit, Super Mario Bros 2, Crystalis, River City Ransom, and Punch-out, it was too late... I knew the 7800 couldn't compete. It gathered dust. One day it disappeared. I didn't miss it. Flash foward years later. Internet connects the world together. I discover how much potential was in that black box. It's still not my favorite system; it dosen't even come close. But no other system brings back the white water rush of discovering the world for the first time, just the start-up screen seems an invitation to play with magic...
  9. Above: PC remakes of Tempest 2000 and Rayman. Which games were remade or ported over? Were they as good as the Jaguar version?
  10. blurry graphics? try rogue squadron, Majora's Mask, ready to rumble 2, world driver, and f-zero. lack of good fighting games? mace, killer instinct, MK4, MK Trilogy, and ready to rumble are good. sound? the new tetris soundtrack is great..check it. Have you tried ?
  11. Maybe. The Genesis/Megadrive version features smaller sprites, and when slime falls on your character, it instantly disappears. Also, the levels no longer pulsate, and over 50% of the screen is green. But it is playable, if you're hellbent on fun with it...
  12. Now I see why fanboy arguments aren't seen as just good sport... Rev, I like your writing, but picking on someone who's taking the joking too serious was kinda ugly.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSt-jucEv0s...ted&search= This is more realistic for the Jag...
  14. Sure. Something along the lines of Mario 64 was done on GBA.
  15. I'll snap some more soon, but here's a preview -
  16. Since new games are slow in coming, and we've put the Jaguar against everything except the NGage, why not take a page from XBox live, and create new challenges for the games? They can be as silly or as challenging as you want, just so long as they're worth trying...
  17. Which has the better library?
  18. From what I read, it was an enhanced port. My guess is that what was amazing for the Jag, at the time, compared to the rest of the software library, wasn't as visually stunning running years later, on a better supported system - it didn't make many ripples.
  19. Is there a reason why other people's opinions threaten your own?
  20. MausBoy, I know my ideas are hit and miss...but if you could at least tell me what style you're looking for?
  21. Don't take it personally, I don't own a PS3, XBox360, or Neo-Geo. Sadly, I've never even played a Jaguar. Or seen one outside of a monitor's glass. I love her from afar...
  22. Religion or politics? Which is telling the truth? I think Alien Soldier looks better than Contra 3. Didn't SNES have trouble with a few sports games? Of course, the SNES had a larger palette too, and transparencies, and Mode 7... Minus textures and lighting, you're right, hmmm.... *Looks at Neo-Geo, looks at Jaguar, looks at X-Box 360, looks at PS3* *Goes off to play SNES and Genesis.*
