  1. People say that books are better than movies because you have to use your imagination. Movies are "lazy entertainment." Well, books are lazy too since you're not really using your imagination. The imagination of another person is being inserted into your mind through words. If imagination is the focus, daydreaming is better than reading.

      another thing to remember, too, is how the brain interprets language. The brain is doing a lot of work when reading - it's the daydream part coupled with the language processing. Reading is powerful, as much as listening to a story teller. Enjoy your daydreaming. But remember to write it down. ;-)

      IMHO books are better than movies because with a book there's a lot more time to flesh out characters, plot, backstory, etc. Movies usually only scratch the surface. There's also the issue of needing a huge production and staff to put out a movie, where a book requires the vision and passion of one person.
