  1. Have to move again: "Unfortunately we will not be able to renew your current lease agreement. Please consider this letter to be your formal sixty day written notice that your lease will not be renewed and that you will need to vacate the leased premises by the end of your current lease term of September 30, 2019."

Yeah, what's up with that? They selling the place or something?

The basement leaks every time it rains (we found this out after moving in). We moved in because we wanted to use the basement as storage. The owner claims that the property management company tells everyone that the basement is basically off limits or use at your own risk. They didn't tell us that. They even put in new paneling and linoleum to make it look like nothing was wrong, but the new paneling soon became very warped and covered in mold (they had to remove it).

The owners are back from South Africa for a few months, so they came over a few times supposedly to finally get the problem fixed. One of the owners said the basement has been flooding for years and he didn't believe me that the property management company didn't tell us about the basement. The property management company gave us a $200 refund the first month because of the basement problem, so that proves we aren't lying.

The owners had three companies over to give estimates. We thought they were going to fix the problem and we might be living here for years, but I'm guessing that it was too expensive. I wonder if the property management company will slap up some new paneling in the basement again and try to trick someone into buying it, similar to what they did to us when renting it?
