  1. I see COF files, ABS files, JAG files, ROM files, PRG files and BIN files. Some have headers, some don't. The headers seem inconsistent as far as I can see. Is there an article somewhere that explains what the bytes in a header do? If not, can someone enlighten me - because I haven't got a clue! Thanks
  2. Just tried it now, works fine. Turns out I've already downloaded all this twice before from other places... oh well.
  3. I know this will be obvious to you Jaguar owners... unfortunately I'm not one of them.. What causes the red jaguar screen, (red background) ? When does the normal logo, (with the Atari falling letters and spinning cube) appear? What happens after the spinning cube is done? Thanks - Robert
  4. Tried the Invision link, and it is slow but somewhat faster than here. Then, I switched over to Firefox 3.5.2 and now this site is suddenly quite fast. So, the problem certainly seems to be with IE6. Thanks for your suggestions Albert.
  5. I'm using IE6 on a 500mhz celeron computer. As I say I have no trouble with other sites, but maybe the specs needed for this site exceed what I have. Another odd bug is that sometimes the posters name doesn't show on the first post of a page.
  6. I don't know if this affects anyone else, but I now find the forum to be very slow to load pages, and respond to opening topics. It can take a minute or more sometimes, with my browser appearing to freeze in the meantime. It's only this forum with the issue, others are fine. Also, I came across a link to something, another topic I think, but it just took me to the index. It was in the pinned homebrew topic in the Jaguar forum.
  7. Tried this on Project Tempest and in MESS (current svn) and it looks - and sounds - really good. Congratulations on the effort that was put in. MESS is missing some of the graphical effects, but it is playable, which is the important thing. Would be better if I had a real Jaguar, but I've never seen one, don't know if they were even sold in this country.
  8. Put the zipfile as is into the mess roms folder. The channel F games go into the software\channelf folder (which you will probably have to create)
  9. MESS has an official release about every 6 weeks on the above address. However there is a svn, and from this there are nightly builds for Windows and Mac OS/X 10.5 Windows -> http://bobz38.free.fr/mess_autobuild/index.php Mac -> http://code.google.com/p/mess-universal/downloads/list The latest Jaguar work is so far only available in the nightly build. So far, Project Tempest is much superior, but work continues to improve MESS Jaguar emulation. Usually there is an update to Jaguar each week or so.
  10. I noticed in your topic: Jag Emulation - Where are we? that you neglected to mention MESS, the Jaguar emulation is in active development.
  11. Hi, I wonder if a Jaguar owner could dump out the Wave Table Rom that is part of Jerry? The memory range is F1D000 to F1DFFF (4k bytes). It is needed to become part of MESS. Thanks for any help! - Robert
  12. To set default for all "games" : Options, Default System Options, Miscellaneous, Use New UI (ticked) Or on an individual basis : Right-click the "game" : Properties, Miscellaneous, Use New UI. This gives the Windows Menu by default. Pressing Scroll-Lock at any time will turn it off/on.
  13. It should be there by default, but if not, add the command-line option "-newui", assuming you're using command-line of course.
  14. I tried Project Tempest and it ran all the Jaguar roms I have here.. all 4 of them. Works really fast too. MESS 0.131 Jaguar emulation doesn't work at all, as you've discovered. MESS 0.132 will at least start, although the screen is only half as wide as should be, and most games crash or freeze. At least Alien vs Predator works. MESS also runs really slowly. You'd be better off with Project Tempest. I'm taking a look at MESS's innards now. Maybe it might run better in 0.133. Don't hold your breathe though, the Jaguar is quite a complex little beast.
  15. There are others but they are really old and probably not much good: Saturnin, Satourne, SaturnTV
  16. Well, it's been fixed, but with a very strange solution. I pressed F5, and suddenly I was logged in - and it remembered when I came back today. ps - you guys are crazy.
  17. For some reason this forum won't remember that I want to stay logged in. I can do stuff in the forum with no problem, but the second I leave, and then come back, I have to log in again. Tried deleting cookies and so forth, made no difference. At least before I could stay logged in for a few days, but now it's downright annoying. What can you suggest?
  18. That game has been in Misfitmame for years... which means the roms are easily available.
  19. The game (or at least a simulated version of it) is in MisfitMAME. Not everything is emulated but at least it's playable.
  20. puckman.zip pacman.zip leave them zipped, and put them into your roms folder. When you say "it won't work", it would help if you told us what the error message says.
  21. Thanks, it makes more sense. The reason i suggested a day is because from what I've read, ppl have gone back weeks and months to alter their posts. A day seemed a good compromise. Still, it's up to you, and an hour is much better than 15 minutes.
  22. I think a day would be better than 15 minutes. Or at least an hour.
