  1. Oy Fuji, stop stealing my idea re the mounting multiple disks with certain naming conventions, in this thread a week or so ago Also if you look in the Disk drives section there are buttons (of sorts to move up and down images..) (I think that's what you meant)?
  2. Very nice Heaven & Pop.. A nice bin file would be excellent
  3. Thanks for the info tep, does not surprise me, in the heat of a frantic game I often belted the space bar a lot too hard Have I just talked my idea of the Space bar for the super zapper out of being good
  4. YOU BLEEP!!! For one sec I felt terrible... If I remember clearly, Defender on the Atari used the space bar for the smart bomb....Pretty much the same thing..
  5. Wine guns, bit extreme Liquorice can be a bit Marmite in taste.. Anyway, way OT now
  6. Super Zapper = Space bar.... I know people who played titles using space with their feet, works, trust me...
  7. You may be out of luck, he does not drink (true)
  8. Nice one Farb and to those offering titles a big thank you too.. Please folks do contribute so we can have a clean super set of titles, hoping there no collector mania to go on, sometimes I've seen situations where folks say "its mine, not for sharing", all that does is make sure rare titles become extinct bar a copy or two in a box, never played and stored away. Lets not do that, do what the C64 lot do, share it all bar newly released for sale stuff that is NOT put up on common to enter sites, yes it still gets cracked but not spread in an open way allowing authors to make some money.. Same with folks who have brought the rights to a utility or game, are you now going to expand on that property or just leave it to gather dust, if yes to dust then please share the program so we have a record of it, if you are going to enhance it and re-release it for cash then good luck to you and thank you for doing it. Or of course you could follow John Lawsons fine idea and release a new version of your work for free. John IS still working on Ultimon II but he's incredibly busy with businesses etc but I chatted to him a few weeks back and its still coming, hopefully I'll get to play with it nearer the time.
  9. I suffered from mouldy floppies once but the tablets cleared it right up.......I'll get me coat.. Seriously, I once was given a batch of disks in that condition, managed to salvage some with the light washing treatment but most were beyond anything BUT they were in a terrible state. You *might* be able to prep them with a spray so there's less actual contact with the disk and the slime just slides off under warm water but be very careful of what you spray on them, its not a fun job and its amazing what you find lurking in the sleeve of the disk. Good luck...
  10. Every one I knew had a nibbler, I just used a pair of fine sharp electronic snips, 3 quick cuts and you had the same thing I actually knew one person who created a jig for cutting the notch out so it was exactly in the same place as the other side of the disk..Mad..
  11. Avery, what about the notion of auto mounting based upon the file name, ie a zip containing all the disks for a game and Altirra looking at the name and seeing where Disk 1 or Side 2 etc is and mounting in numerical or alphabetical order.. Just asking about how much work it would be? Too much for the payback? Remember I'm not asking as a request, just the feasibility of it as its a lazy / novelty feature.
  12. The video's are just titles being played with a a8t cheat enabled, no disrespect to the poster on here but they are no use for people looking for 'pokes', nice as long plays ish but as Rybags says there's no actual cheating tutorial. Thanks to Bonaparte for the thought but a tutorial of the Altirra in built cheater would be better but I'm already way way too busy and way behind on the gamepack to do one myself. The in built cheater is easy to use and no real code knowledge needed, if you have a life of 3 on the screen do a scan in the cheater, lose a life and search for 2, eventually after repeating the above you will have a location. No time to explain CE's and NOP's at the mo
  13. There are some titles whose names just fail to come to me that DID use multiple drives, not a vast amount but they are out there (another reason I wasn't making it a feature request, not enough to justify it and lazy as I said). I joked with Avery a very long time ago about an AI play if for you system and I seem to remember him saying very jokingly that he had been thinking of working on AI (and from what I remember it wasn't Atari related from memory) I could be wrong as it was a LOOOOOOOOOOOONNG time ago
  14. Just a bit of trivia, an old friend and work colleague who was the first person in the UK taken to court for piracy (on the Atari 8bit, so its topical) purchased one of the first SCSI HD's for his Amiga, the cost was unbelievable and the storage was tiny but this bloke just had to have it, the courier brought it to what was then his computer shop and Kev opened the box like it was Xmas. He pulled out this drive and marvelled at it and then like a butter fingered child dropped it, the noise as it hit the stone floor was one where you KNOW its broken just like when my daughter dropped her iPad mini. The drive was indeed dead as a Norwegian Blue parrot, not sleeping, dead... Something like £800 quid killed in an instant... A drive with 50X the storage is a mere 20 - 30 quid now..If that...
  15. Hi Joe, not seen you post before so welcome.. Yeah zip support is in Altirra and has been for a good while now, what was being talked about was that say you had an adventure that was on 3 disks and they contained the text Side A, Side B or Side C (alternatively 1, 2 or 3 would work too), if they were all inside the same zip could Altirra be made to mount them on D1, D2 and D3 for you just by checking the zip contents first. As I said in my post, the idea of mine was just to ask how much of a hassle it would be for Avery to write as opposed to a request for the feature simply because its a really lazy feature, I know we like the emulator to do so much for us but even mounting the disks too What next, play the game for us Obviously if Avery thought it was easy then all good and well if he ever decided to add it but I'm happy to use the disk swapper window.
  16. Lol, the last poster and the last poster from the list don't match I wonder why Thanks Avery, the fastest fixer in the West. Just a question, with many collectors they have their digital stuff in zips (not all), how difficult would it be to scan inside a zip and if its a multi disk program , automatically mount disks A, B, C or 1, 2 ,3 etc if they were correctly named. I'm not asking for it, just wondering how hard it would be to integrate, obviously there are some programs that work only on a single drive. Again, not asking for it because its a 'lazy' request but keen to know if technically its easily do-able or not.
  17. I would not have thought you would see a Happy programmable feature and to be honest I can't see the point of it, it's all fancy using Happy Backup to program the drive by writing to the drive itself but then what do you use it for, we already have ultra fast I/O support, plus you had to re program the drive to make it 'UnHappy' for a lot of games because of the protection. But who knows, Avery sometimes throws us a curve ball and adds some amazing new unexpected features..
  18. Seems to me that if you are a collector then its a lot of money but if you are looking to make a small profit then buy it and sell it on Ebay.
  19. When the prionter is set it opens a panel for it where any output is sent, from there you can copy etc etc..
  20. As I said originally, a new platformer is always welcome so thank you to the author.
  21. No, its the fact it moves in a block a player width at a time and not smoothly...Not a criticism, just makes it feel lumpy when the player moves..
  22. Only thing I don't like is the player movement, the blocky movement makes it hard to control..
