  1. A "Mask" of a ROM (ReadONLY) information contained in a computer chip can be (c) Copyrighted But can be used for informational and Educational purposes as long as you dont SELL  sutch said MASK of a rom witch is just a .bin file but you can copy one archival copy for youreself for back up purposes but cant sell it you can use it to see if youre computer is faster than a nother one .

Yeah, that's why I said HDMI and not composite. The FB 2 (not made by AtGames) is a composite system and completely different from any other Flashback in terms of internal hardware.

When I say repair I went to AXEMAN and found some old coleco brand paddles witch were for old pong games w no button so I bought five or so then I took the pot apart removing the metal bottom case w wire snippets no soldering needed but don’t bend the wipers wrong or it’s TOAST but if you can wipe the circle off the replace bent wiper to connect better then put case back w out breaking the tabs off! Then the 1 Meg ohm pot is gitter free windex works good for wipe ing the carbon off the pot and the wiper from grease witch I stole from the coleco paddles and made the Atari paddle almost jitter free . On Atari 800 basic you print:”paddle(0)” I forgot basic lol anyway the cleaned and regressed paddle are better than factory new. Enjoy 1972 for fbII it’s the paddle code

PS. I ereased all my Sd card Atari Games. Ill Just use the built In ones.

  3. I made a mistake and thought the fb9 was the fbII but I did try regular paddles on fb9 and if you crank all the way to the right then push the paddle button then move left slowly in superbreakout2 it works but if you slam it to the right to fast it bitches about wireless . Now I see why people want to solder lol. I already soldered the cart mod to the fb 2 that was hard enough

I was talking about the hdmi version and normal paddles work

  5. I almost forgot when I took the fb9 apart to see if there were any user jumpers but not found any but as this topic proves there are some jumpers for the pot values lol anyway they were just cheap pcb makers but I did remove the pcb from the case screws leaving every thing hooked up then plugged the hdmi and the power so I could turn it on whilst Holding a mini button the pcb board witch if you press hold then power on it loads a Linux like boot loader menu I think is Incase you hatch the bios by a bad load when doing the sod card update I think it gives you  another way to flash the system. Anyway finding the button and the secret menu was fun . I would just get a used pair of paddles off eBay . Oh the joystick moves the menu and the difficulty buttons are normally in the b off mode so you have to kind of push lately or replace button to up and off then the menu item loads . I think I tried the uodate then removed the sad card while it was loaded used the menu to repair it but I forgot weather it would so I decided not to try making a flash of the bios fail because it was 53$ on Amazon was new but used open box I only was concerned about the sad function I hAve about 512 pages of games but some of the copy(2) files dumps won’t load but w more than 500 games I’m not going to sort the dir Mabie those were .zip I never checked . Anyway I prefer 1meg

  6. Whell morning the plug play I think on the 1 player paddle jacks plug play I took it apart since I just completed the flashback II cart mod witch was a pain in the ass I don’t think I can even read that small w out readers but since basic fun made the fb II mod I assumed the p1 paddle would work w 2 players by removing p1 paddle wires witch was 10ohm or so I would have to rip it apart and remove the paddle pot to see if it’s 10 ohm but adding the 1 Meg ohm made it more sensitive at the right end like turning the vol up and it does nothing until it goes from 3 to 100% vol but the plug play paddle is sensitive all the way around witch makes me actually prefer 1 meg ohm anyway it goes from 0 to like 255 as a number on the atari800 so I think they chose the other value pots to SAVE $ . I think normal paddles should work fine except unless you have a old joystick splitter then you could hook joystick w menu buttons and paddles at same time

  7. You can just use normal paddles and they work great I recently repaired my Atari paddles w NEW 1m ohm pots and they are really great no gitter and I personnaly think a 1meg ohm paddle is more precise but this is more twirls one end like all the way to the right is more sensitive like the right is mostly dead but as far as adding surface mount resistors is not even worth it just use normal paddles and don’t belive any hipe that u need a mod to use paddles as normal Atari paddles work just fine on my flashback 9 not the wireless version . Also inside if u take cover off and remove pan w out unhooking it from ribbon cables just remove board from screws and plug power back in and hdmi and the joystick 1 then power off using the normal power button then holf

d the mini button and power up and it will open a menu

If you are installing the 'firmware' to enable SD Card access, it's a good idea to backup save states first. In my Genesis Flashback they were wiped.

The "SD Card firmware" replaces the /data partition on this system, so the save states and customizations will be lost.

The update you have found in AtGames site for the Legends Flashback (it was removed but the file is still accessible) is a "real" software update. It replaces 2 different partitions on the system: /emulator and /rom. It looks like this is an update for the emulator and perhaps some of the ROMs in the system - the only reason I see to replace /rom partition.

So your Atari Flashback is not working because you replaced the Atari emulator with the Legends Flashback emulator which does not have the Stella Core. The only way to fix it would be a full update image or an update with at least /emulator and /rom partitions.

Whell I don’t know how to fix it but I took mine apart and there is a button on the pcb that if you push and hold then power on it goes into a Linux like menu

  9. OK i Finnaly got the Vob DVD i had to burn e Nero to make a smallenough .mpeg! lol file just renamed the vob file to .mpeg to fit it into the 10mb max file length on this With i played out this easter egg I played till it locked up.

Whell you might think its scrap but at Material proccessing the gayloard says GOLD cause thats gold plating on the finger boards on those carts!!!!!!!!!! also I got my Dig Dug easter Egg Video working ... PS Hanglypack runs on FB II using the 2764 long chip .27c64A chip has aal chip underneeth cart Ac 02- 3902 I think i had albert make me a Cart for homebrew just to play Snoopy then ereased snoopy and put hanglypack on the 2764 chip and it runs in the FB II I love the Fb 2 more than the Flashback 3 cause the cart mod works and the black and white switch works I reused a old 2600 I blew up and modded the color/b white switch for the jumpers for internal and external one on other off on double pole double throw color/bw switch then since its RCA outs on the flashback II i used the ch2 ch3 ch3 ch4 switch for the b/w switch so can pause or play Adventure II or haunted house and light the mazes up!!!!!!! I love hangly pack I think a ounce in 1989 of liquid gold was worth about $10,000 or so!!!!!! i could be wrong but I know atari always gold plated their cartridges back then. .. PS what could be worth more than a DUg up cart from the Showtime Movie!. :) sorry if I have spelling or Grammer errors.!

    yea

  10. I agree and now realize this. I don't know why i didn't before. :dunce: Obviously I'm clueless on the business end of it, but I'm learning thanks to the experts here at AA ;)

  11. Eh, I won't bother with pinball anymore, people just want to shake em or whatever, whatever, and no, I wasn't singling anybody out, that was only the 4th post or so where someone said you were supposed to play like that cause the original machines had no flippers, is all. I wasn't aware the original fliperless ones had tilt sensors in themeither, cool to know, who woulda thought? (guess people were breaking those too icon_razz.gif )

    Anyhow.....

I think I burned something out reading the above post icon_razz.gif but it did jog my memory, I remember back in school, they had these learning "computers" (if you could call them that) that had some electronic scoring device, and played records....yeah, records. Well, it was only supposed to play one speed, they were dedicated machines after all, but it had huge mechanical switches to turn the turtable on, and as you pushed it in, the record would run at random speeds untill you got to the point it clicked.

Damn, I don't remember what those things were called, but everybody would sit there with the switches half way pressed down so they talked in wobbly super slow or fast voices. Just don't let the teacher catch you, icon_lol.gif cause they would jump on our arses about how we could mess them up, don't think anyone ever did though.

I seem to remember a lot of old cassette tapes would do the same thing if you just held play most of the way down, play at a crazy fast speed, though I have had those machines eat tapes before, as some seem to not engage both motors when they do that.

icon_lol.gif I remember pretty much any change machine back in the 80's would takecopied money, heck a lot of modern ones still will, and the few that wont just need a little hairspray sprayed on them icon_razz.gif

I clicked a sonic care add on youre homepage LOL just for u.... PS the singer reading machines were cool but we also had some film/cassette machines too witch were like answering machines and film projectors w opaque glass fronts so u would start a tape and it would advance the film strip acording to the tape I useto like the noise it made from the solinoid SOMETIMES on my car i reopen the trunk lock when its already open just to hear that noise!!!!!!!!!!!!! yant ya the other day i found my easter egg video I made of dig DUG dug

  12. wow that responce must have been posted at 4am lol some aztec rf modulators were bad and made humbars I use to find atari at goodwill and replace rf modulators to fix that problem u need a solder iron 550'F solder and solder vacume i always add new solder then turn off iron and vacume when it cools this makes it vacume better when hole threw solder vacumeing then replace whole rf modulator or u could do the 1 transistor composite ben heck mod .. that works good also u can get combat in stereo but atari stopped that and didnt put speakers in the older models but u can see speaker vents in the older 2600's i was refering to fuzzy picture .. ALSO sometimes a mov like cap blows on back of tv inside the tuner pack from the antenna leads witch causes fuzzy reception... usually on the inside where antenna leads connect there is a protector cap...

  13.

You use a gamepad or joystick, of course....

do it all the time mame asteroids -1024x768 -noscanlines -skip_disclaimer skip_gameinfo using a usb stick boot to pci soundblaster w dos and use arrow keys and control to fire .

easy pezy .. Also I play using ps3 stick for atari too track ball or on my arcade coin op arkanoid motherboard i use a sideways optical mouse and slide back and forth so i put the mouse sideways and it works i soldered the mouse to 5v+ gnd then picked off up or down on mouse on square chip so now arcade coin op mouse goes sideways but you can play better didnt know how hard it was til i got better..

so you can almost use a optical mouse for a trakball but wont work but trakball works also does a thumbmouse trakball works on birdi king II arcade board too works better than wico one does..

Success loaded SP2 on xp to Puniter Computer pIII celeron 533 Mhz 128M avast and apeshareware and sio to atari serial works now the computer hooks to a VGA to tv Tv view external puts onto tv from vga then i switch to input on aTARI after load file any file here will be in .txt format but just rename to .atr lol as this blog softeare restricts to txt files but rename them to .atr and it will work in real atari800 you can read and write too using emulator and put h1: as a dir on the harddrive with atari.exe files and load them into real atari and list h1: dir 1 directory w dos2

also if anyone wants fixdump internal atari file let me know you can modify hex decimal with it also dos dup writer with modem files too .

you can take donkey kong © Nintendo 1980 and can change it to say for example adamkong instead of nintendo in title it left you modify sectors by sector of information ..

    init makes oss+ boots too

  14. Every one has said some cool thing i said a lot i didnt mean to SEND lol i am not so indulgent now and also apoligize for rambling.

Kiss pinball was fun but i didnt get to play it enough to fgure out how to win

u only got zapped if you touched both pinball machine metal bar holding glass on BOTH Kiss and the other machine on the left of it.

  15. I scanned a bit of that and don't really see how it has any bearing on this topic? The multiple posts aren't necessary and the wall of text in the last one isn't going to get read by anyone. Please stop spamming the topic.

Actually thanks Sometimes my filter goes bad LOL I edited lame ones and left the informative ones BUt if you actually READ the posts instead of scaning them you wuold mabie learn someghing about MAME32 like you can add all the versions of a rom to a zip file and not need so many versions of mame but have all versions of the rom instead like i did with dkong I even put the samples in the dkong.zip witch works w all mame verions i have ..

Also you can check 16.99 and get fullscreen streach working.. Just Read the whole posts and look at the example pictures on how to inject samples and roms to existing sets and mabie if you were not so apt to snap and read the whole post you would know Im just trying to help..

I see you just scaned you didnt not read you just assumed what you thought you wanted to see was a long post SO i fixed it just for you ok. anyway here

Belive it or not in 1997 or 1998 I used to search google untill those o's would run out and look up EVERY single result untill it ran out I always coincidently click on those x joystick things you bought with was really weird anyway I looked at EVERY mame site to find atari 2600 emulation and mame roms and dkong roms so I suggest go back a version to 069 or .120 or .117 thats a nother good version..

is that more twords youre liking.
