  1. Cool I found a link I was looking for today here it is it explains DELUXE walk thoughs and info you wanted.

    http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=12743

    Cheats, Tricks and Bugs

On any wave, if the last alien you kill is from the bottom two rows you will get a special 'fireworks' display and a 500 point bonus. If the bottom leftmost invader is the last killed, the bonus is 1,000 points.

The number of points you get for the solid flying saucer (50 - 300) depends on how many shots you have fired in the wave. The 23rd shot and every 15th thereafter is worth 300 points if it hits the saucer.

When there are eight or fewer invaders left, the flying saucers no longer appear.

During the attract mode demo, repeatedly press the left, right, fire, 1 player start and 2 player start buttons simultaneously as fast as you can. After a few seconds the message "TAITO CORP." will appear beneath the high score.

I got my sit down machine to do the TAITO CORP once a long time ago .. anyway I hope this info helps

    also more

As the game progresses, provided there is 'room' for more invaders on the top row, the flying saucers will drop more invaders that will 'land' in the top row, (as noted below in the gameplay description). If you are able to shoot an invader as it drops from the flying saucer, (but before it 'lands' in the top row), the invader will not disappear as it usually would after being shot, instead it will 'fall', sideways, but very much intact, to the bottom of the playfield. Points scored for this anomaly are unconfirmed. The invader remains at the bottom of the playfield, and will chip away like the shields, by invader fire. It will remain there until the invader fire chips it away completely or until the wave is completed. Also unconfirmed is if you can let the falling invader hit your laser base. What is known is that once the invader has fallen, your laser base can pass right through the invader, it no longer threatens the base or hampers it in any way.

    Game Play

The basic mechanics of play for the Space Invaders genre is simple: move your laser base left or right along the bottom of the screen and shoot the endless waves of aliens descending towards you. Their relentless march quickens as fewer and fewer aliens (each worth 30, 20 or 10 points, depending which type it is) remain. In this game, the best defense is a good offense -- your only other protection being four stationary shields which slowly get blown away by both you and the invaders. Besides aliens, you can also target the occasional flying saucer which traverses the top of the screen.

For Space Invaders Deluxe, a few twists were added to this time-honored classic to make it more interesting and difficult. There are two different flying saucers. For example, one is steadily visible and worth a 'random' number of points between 50 and 300, the other blinks in and out and can only be hit when visible for 200 points. From the second wave on, various other features appear such as invaders that split into two when you shoot them and flying saucers that drop alien reinforcements.

anyway there is not mutch more info to give about SPace invaders EXEPT that I found a easter egg in it self in that on the original arcade pcb both deluxe and regular boards MIDWAYS at least If you short pin a2 pin 5 to ground instead of shorting center tap to gnd on slam switch it TILTS saving high score and credits... I have done this to my cabinet witch you can see in the picture... Its a non deluxe cabinet but has the deluxe pcb board set I was going to convert it back to non deluxe space invaders but making 9316 rom set to work in a TMS2716 configuration would require soldering custom double piggy back sockets and be to mutch of a pain in the but so ill leave it deluxe.PART II..

E ANYWAY it looks great nukey what ever you choose to do to space invaders is going to be better than Atari had in 1979 for the 2600..

  2. Cool you did a really good job on hacking a 2600 game witch I tought was really lame at 1st but now I might play it now..

ALso It reminds me of a way to get demo mode in atari800 you push up left and fire at same time and then push 1 then it starts a demo mode.. I havent done it in a long time though..

  3. I know I was tired sorry I also editied the swearing..

Any way mabie the game just locked up I cant remember but I do remember seeing a tape player inside and the operator said crap it ate the tape I thought what a crappy game system...

  4. Whell I do know that hackem works on the flashback II but pitfall II dont the indy 500x hack does work!! as does Gorf space invaders asteroids and frogger although the sound in frogger is weak.. ..

ALSO A weird thing I found out one day on a normal 2600 I was trying to use a weak power pack w only like 200Ma and it got hot so i added a nother one in parralel to the one i had and the music in pitfall II went faster!!!!!!!!!! ..

combat rock works too..on the flashshback II SO i would assume normal Combat would work 2

circus atari works a lot of 2 to 8k games work on the flashback but bank switch games like PITFALL II wont work .. I did get snoopy to work though.. also ALWAYS START the flashback II in the flashback built in games mode with the cart plugged in then switch to cart mode w the power on after you started a flashback II game then switch to cart mode !! this is realy cool when you switch from a normal fb II game to a hacked homebrew game it switches only the graphics in the rock game I made where i hacked asteroids to look like aw's its cool.. now I know why they call it the flashback YOu can FLASH back to the original game ..A cool thing to do is get an original missile command 2600 game cart and put it in then put fb in fb built in mode then start missile command then flip to cart mode but keep flashing between built in mode and missile command cart it once and a while will chunk and you will get smart bombs comming UP constantly and the score will sometimes just roll over over and over again But the smart bombs comming up constantly is cool and yet scary at the same time cause it was just sitting there doing nothing once and then they just came going up I immedatly grabbed the joystick and started playing I was napping at the time when they came thats why i got scared It was still cool...

  5. the pOWER PACK FOR THE FLASHBACK II is a just a dc power pack although all you need is 5vDC to run the Flashback II I have since put my flashback II inside a old Atari 2600 case and am using a 9v DC 500Ma power pack and the lm3905 voltage regulator and the original atari 2600 capacitor to get it to 5v DC for the power input but the flashback II is a 9v DC 200Ma power pack I would suggest using a 500Ma power pack If you plan to do the mod since the atari carts and 2732/64/256 chips take more power but if you dont do the Cart mod you should be fine w a 9vDC 200Ma I would just get a 500Ma power pack check youre thrift or Good will they usually have lots of {(ansewering machines just make shure + in the middle and DC some answering machines power packs are AC 9v and would need a rectifire bridge and capacitor to make DC way to mutch work when you could just find a DC power pack.) or cordless phones with power packs all over the place.. GOOD LUCK.

oh ps I remembered where I saw one

    http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/151738-anyone-have-a-fb2-power-supply-pic/

it was here a long time ago in the picture!!

Also there is a 5v voltage regulator inside the flashback II thats why I opted to reuse a broken 2600 for its cart slot and its power capacitor and the fact that I had a old funvision power pack witch is a 9v 500ma power pack that plugs into a 2600 nicely its kind of a pain but if youre going to do the cart mod you might as whell put the whole thing inside a old non working 2600 .. I just used the b/w switch on the old 2600 for built in/cart and the ch3 switch for b/w it was almost as hard to solder the cart wires as it was to solder the joystick inputs.. at least the a/b switches just short to gnd..

  6. Whell it seems like there is a open(disconnected wire on the bw/color switch ) you should see if there is a loose connection on the switch inside cause sometimes a wire can come off the switch then it would only play in b/w but the good news is in Adventure II you can see in the mazes cause it inverts the colors.. Space Dual is just like space war but it used to be a HUGE arcade game look it up on google you had a almost real looking YOKE and it was two player it was kind of fun It was a long time ago last time I played it it was 1980 something.

ALso check here there might be some info on FB II games

  7. I have a Commodore Pet computer I got for under $20 at a thrift store YES IT WORKS but would cost $100 or more to ship I also have a cassette recorder that works ..

I dont think I want to Sell the Commodore pet computer but if someone offered $100 or more mabie I would sell it I dont know how mutch its worth but I do Know they weigh a lot and would cost more than its worth to ship it.. But I would not claim it was worth more than it was its probably not worth more than $40 anyway..

  8. Wow In Minnesota Its way differnt I always see Atari Stuff at thrift stores the other day I got 10 game joystick atari for $4 and over the years most of my Atari carts I have picked up at goodwill Once I even picked up a Atari 810 disk drive unit !!!!! I forgot how mutch i payed ALSO I once found a atari 48k upgrade module!!! and I never used it then about a year a go I decided to try the mod and it worked and I sold a Atari 400 on ebay after I did the mod..

Also I got a lot of loose carts from thrift stores the Good news is Good will at least the one by my house always only charges 80¢ for tapes and atari carts.. NOW once and a while ill see a genisis or a Nintendo or some genisis carts...

I always see paddle games like those jaks ones and the unique thrift store alyways has plug play paddle type games .

anyway Good luck. also look in house wares where they have books and records sometimes they stick carts on the shelfs with small dishes and kids toys...

  9. Hi awace, I've taken the liberty of putting all the files on one ATR (1050 density) as I think the autorun prog used wouldn't load on the emulator on some of the images, and I think there was one disk that is corrupt as I couldn't load a few files...

:dos25basic.txt (rename from .txt to .ATR)

There are a few gems here, I liked - Giant Slalom, Duel, Pro Tour Golf and Chicken. Not sure if these are on atarimania? :)

    Giant Slalom

    post-19705-126029327273_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029328192_thumb.pngpost-19705-12602932911_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029324637_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029325564_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029326416_thumb.png

    Duel

    Fun heads up combat!

    post-19705-12602928041_thumb.png post-19705-126029282436_thumb.png

    Pro Tour Golf (Jerry White)

Nice relazing round of Golf for up to 4 players, might have to see if I can add joystick control to this!

    post-19705-126029307416_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029303359_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029304968_thumb.pngpost-19705-126029306587_thumb.png

    Chicken

Of course it's safe to cross the road! (Think this crashes out Error-3 at 553 after you get so far...)

    post-19705-126029316282_thumb.png

Note running 'su' wipes the existing autorun.sys file (I replaced this and the menu on the ATR above)

whell some of the files dont work and some are courpt or i just didnt delte the files..

I never played chicken that long

the cont tester tests controler and sound might be a keyboard to sound or a paddle to sound file...

  10. Ok paddle(0) is a old password protected disk that probably had dup or dos screwed up so all i would do is load a different disk then swap back to paddle(0) image then run menu to run games..

now paddle(0) has a paddle to sound file in it i think if i remember correctly..

anyway the password entry file at 1st you push return then do it again untill it beeps barks bitches then it says password again then you push sa then it wants you to push start to load meni.bas

or dir.bas witch is just menu renamed..

  11. Glad you Liked the games The DUEL game me and my brother typed in a long time ago... to long for me to remember but I remember playing it Also the autorun file just loaded menu.bas the password protected disk just load meni or dir.bas or just switch images on the fly w the emulator then swap back in to play games..

  12. WOW wholly crap BOY did I rant on on that topic ...

anyway I eventually found a appolo cart with a 2732 in it and using a william eeprom burner I finnaly made some new homebrew carts I actually burned and got them to work I also using a ohm meter I pinned out the cart and using a old atari pac-man cart I rewired it to use a 7400 and a 2732 to use 4k roms i hacked...

  13. For crap sake, how many times am I going to forget to attach a pic in one thread?

Is the thing the arrow is pointing to considered the eprom :???: (Sad I don't know this by now).

Should I be able to pull that out and replace it with another?

the arrow is pointing to the type of eeprom it looks like a tms2532 witch doesnt mean its differnt than a 2532 w out the tms only the lame 2716 is differnt than the tms2716 thank god... also please see if it says 2732 or 2532 as I have a lots of extra 2732 chips and mabie some 2532's too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the eeprom is the thing inside the window you can actually see the chip under the glass I always thought these chips were cool ..

I did make a mistake and just figured out its a 32k chip but you can use 4k atari roms with it..

  14. For crap sake, how many times am I going to forget to attach a pic in one thread?

Is the thing the arrow is pointing to considered the eprom :???: (Sad I don't know this by now).

Should I be able to pull that out and replace it with another?

wow thats a crappy picture it looks like a tms2532 to me! the bad news is the new william eeprom burner wont burn them it will read them but to burn one I have to program a 2732 then using the old burner switch to a 2532 then burn.. the good news is that pacman pcb's arcade ones use 2532's and they erease good but not every time sometimes they need ereased more times to atually erease... If you had a better picture I could tell you weather its a 2732 or a 2532... either way you can get a pdf of the pinouts as i did this for an arcade space invaders 9316 space invaders chip and actually put it into my william eeprom burner and read it ALTHOGH it was a pain i had to hook pins 18 -21 in different holes and also i had to hook -5v and 12v and 5v to certian pins I just did it to see if i could actually read a general instraments chip and I actaully did it ...

also I made once a conversion socket to use a 2716 in place of a tms2716 NOW 2716's and tms2716s are way so different than a 2532 vs a 2732 a 2732 and a 2532 just have line a10 in a differnt spot but a tms2716 and a 2716 have differnt voltages... the good news is you have a common chip you can easaly erease...

also using a william eeprom burner if you have 2732 instead of 2532 then its easy to just send it a .bin file to a 2732 and use a pacman cart rewired to use 2732 chips!! also here is a link to a 2532 pdf

    http://arcadearchive.com/pinball/sys80/tms2532.pdf

also check this out here is how to use a 2732 in place of a 2532 since most new eeprom burners burn 2732's but not 2532's you could just make a special socket to do it and use a 2732 in place of a 2532 then you could take a known good rom chip and test it to see if it ran.. altghouth you could just use the unimex to do the copying but you could still use a 2732 unless i read the crappy pic wrong and it actyually uses 2732's anyway but I would stick to 8k games to be safe .. or 4k ones like the german instructuon say...

    I just remembered a 2732 or a 2532 uses a 4k game...

also here is a link to a 2532 to 2732 socket just use two sockets and bend up pinis 18-21 then rewire...

I am trying to insert a 2732 EPROM into a location where a 2532 currently

should exist. I have programmed a 2732 EPROM with the appropriate code. I am

sure that I can install this with a few pins changed, but I can't seem to

    get it right.

    Here is what I did

All the pins are identical except the following:

    2532 socket. 2732 EPROM

    pin 18 ---------> 21

    pin 20 ---------> 18

    pin 21 ---------> 20

    2532 socket 2732 EPROM

    21 (VPP)-----------not used

    20 (/CE) ---------------------------- 18 (/CE)

    18 (A11) ---------------------------- 21 (A11)

    GND 0V ----------- 20 (/OE)

Obviously you can use pin 12 for GND 0V.

all you do is take two sockets and make a special adaptor its not easy but i got it to work once to use a 2716 inplace of a tms2716 ..

anyway hope this helps.. mabie you could dump the contence of the mouse trap!..

  15. You can find a manual scan here. :)

That was very helful. Thank you.

I'm sure he didn't intend it to be an unpleasant experience...

that is definantly a 2532 or a 2732 they are both 32k a 2532 and a 2732 just have pins 18-21 differnces I have actually used a 2732 for my arcade pacman pcb and took a file i put onto a 2732 with a william eeprom burner and then used my older burner to convert it to a 2532 now it takes at least 33 minnutes under a eeprom eraser UV light to erase a eeprom..

now so a 8k file will work on a 2732 chip so since all my atari carts I have modded a pacman cart to use a 2732 and it worked! i FOUND A Apollo space game atari 2600 cart witch I thought was rare at a pawn shop and paid $6.00 for it little did I know it had a 2732 on it once i found this out i ripped it apart and copied the chip just to see if i couuld then i was able to use 2732 chips to make copies of my hacked games and it worked on the flashback II hacked to take carts so i put a socket into the cart then melted a hole threw the cover so i could change out chips when ever i wanted to change games I have 8 diffrent chips i have games on one is hackem a nother is combat rock and a nother is my aw rocks in witch i changed the asteroid rocks to look like aw's and ©'s..

anyway if you wanted you could remove the mouse trap game and read in an eeprom reader...

also I know it when it says used that the empty cart is ''not blank'' so in a sence you just have a simple eeprom burner made spicificly for 8k games.. I wonder if its a 2732 or a 2532..whell after looking at the manual in german it says 4k or 8k games will copy...

also it looks like there is one time carts and ereaseable ones too... YOu would have to erase the chips but in my experince sometimes even though you erase a chip sometimes it wont erase the 1st time you have to let it cool after 33 minnutes then re erease it I got all my blank chips out of a old arcade birdie king II board It has like 20 2732 chips!!!!!!! anyway good luck ...

  16. I took pictures of the Power Joy I bought from the flea market of the Hamvention The seller is Anonymous!!! It was outside somewhere!!! ..

anyway here is some pictures the shooting game was actully fun on my small 13 or 12 inch Panasonic composite mil spec video monitor A tv with out tuner in a metal case anyway it looks awesome on it and plays fun too the shooting game was fun until i shot a kid in the game but reset with the notion cool I was not expecting that anyway but thought it was cool later on in level two i missed a bomb but also did not shoot anything on screen and it said GOOD! then went to level 3 it just keeps going until you get like 3 strikes I think..

Also the car game is kind of fun and the block fall game witch plays like a game they stole the idea from has original music on start barker page then has level select up to level 50 or something and you can have two players I wonder if the shooting games like duck hunt lets you move objects wilst p1 shoots at them , here is some picks of the power joy pad .

WOW I cant belive how good that Panasonic composite monitor works for taking pictures with the contrast turned all the way down..

the falling bricks i moved so its jittery picture.

img_2154.jpg play select their is a level select too..

    image img_2516.jpg game3

Shoot Copters 300 you can see a copter instead of a duck .

    next panzer fly car 500

car alone then enymeies you cant let them make you touch p touch death the wall!!! or you blow up so dont crash into wall..

    SHot glass 000 img_2524

also shooting 600 img_2525 now this is the game i DID NOT EXPECT kids to pop up instead of targets but on 2nd stage i missed all on screen and was late for bomb but did not shoot a kid or anything on page and it said GOOD!.

then I ran out of ammo .

A nother brick picture bleary but falling object caught in picture..

Here is a picture of the monitor. too

I took pictures of the back to show the 75ohm switch cause this monitor does not gitter like a new lcd or plasma or hidef sony like screen cause its a TUBE .

  17. I did buy a coleco sports video 1 player joy pad Coleco Plug-n-play TV Video Game System (Includes: Soccer, Hockey, Football, Racqetball, Basketball & Baseball) it costed under 10 dollars and is only like $3 something online the joypad is really hard to use and the games are lame but I still look at the yellow red black and battery wires once and a while as the bottom is missing and video wire has been snipped and the battery cover is missing with the bottom cover i cant remember what I did with it.

I Also just came back from 2010 Hamvention with a bootleg NEs type super joy w built in gun in the joysitck it self the cool thing is the games are NOT orignal but name and other hacked the dog is the same in tv shoot game but every thing else has been changed around its funny how the flashback is a nes on a chip running a nes to atari2600 file !!! emulation file anyway this one is not going to be ripped apart and im on the look out for famicom mario4.**********************

    edit************

hmm I wonder if the playstation stinky brittle crock nes on chip thing would have the same 2nd player joysticks and or weather the turbo buttons would work on the other machines also the light gun weather a plasma or rear projector wont work w a light gun Ill have to try it..

  18. I

    Apologize for my rantie posts..

Good luck on youre mod I hope you pick an interesting case REMEMBER wire wrap wire snaps easily thats why we replace one by one w ribbon cable !.

Its a Royal pain in the butt but its worth it.

Its the fact that the original 2600 switches have a missing slip differntal between the dual poles witch makes flashing super fun.

REMEMBER FLASHING between built in and external cart could damage both the cartridge or the built in memmory I dont flash the power button only modes..

DO NOT FLASH A ORIGINAL 2600 because this is bad sparks are nasty E S D type things...

  19. Cool only two cover screws its weird i have a half one type cover the top has ch3 switch and a/b and joy holes but the bottom has joy holes and power holes too!!! i forgot about hat ..

I take back what I originally said its just one pin gets unhooked in one selection then the other gets hooked in same selection

crap back to looking where wires actually go!! The bottom has a hole for A B channel select I cleaned the stickers off but there is a mold marking melted in saying 451 on the bottom outside cavity!.

so in one mode one jumper gets grounded and in the other one gets 5v or something like that i forget yea i think the built in memory gets 5v and the cart gets pin 6 connected cause i see interference when cart in I could be totally wrong . but i know when its up in the cart mode it connects on the left top side of the double pole color/bw switch and the bottom right 3 pins on the original 2600 slide switch connects something when the other right top unconnects built in memmory wire when in cart mode but i forget I know they dont have common wire though thats what leads me to think the built in memory needs 5v cause most of those memory sticks are 5v. or mabie its 3.3v but my cap is still on power switch just unhooks pcb from 5v regulator so the power pack has LOAD all the time and wont burn up so i have to unhook funpack power pack wall wart to make it reset remember to start a built in game 1st before FLASHing back to cart slot to FLASH youre games to youre hearts content ALso sometimes you get the this area intentonaly left blank also power on holding reset momentary wilst holding select momentary at same time then power on for test menu then 1972 up 1 down 9 times up seven and down 2 for paddle cart menu on built in to test youre wipers on youre paddle pots.

  20. Nice work and thanks for sharing the pics!

the cart switch has to unhook gnd from c select line select a10 equivilant bank select pin from built in memmory and the other one needs to be hooked up so you essentally replace jumper and remove one to switch between the modes to external cart this is why i think it took a week for me to figure out how to use both sides on the color/bwhite dual double throw double pole it has two 3 pin connections on the switch so i had to scratch all the solder mask from the original toasted 2600 board i used to steal its case ...

if i remember correctly anyway ill remove cover since i used ide cable not wire wrap wire like you did cause i knew this question would come up and i dont like to repair something I forgot where they go!.. Ill look now

  21. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Well I did manage eventually to get it to upload and download. Problem is now, whatever I download, doesn't upload with the same CRC. I am thinking perhaps its my usb to serial adapter. This weekend i'll attach it to my IBM XT and use an old verison of procomm plus and try again. So close atm!

I managed to upload and download using ASCII hex file transfer w/ the terminal I posted earlier. I tried xmodem a few times and no luck. I am beginning to wonder if perhaps its xmodem-1k? Or maybe its just the fact my digelec machine has 64k ram and i'm trying to upload 181kb for a 27c256. Not quite sure what I am doing wrong here. Do you know if you have to span files to ram size? Beginning to wonder if that is what I am doing wrong here...

If I can't get it here in the next few weeks, I am just going to buy a willem programmer and be done with it. I was hoping this be easier to transfer files too.

I was using a 8k asteroids type atari game on a 2764! a long one wow you got it to work i forgot since power failure at 4am what i had done to send it a file i think it might be win95 xmodem hyper terminal !.
