  1. wow please fill me in on what 6502 pong is would a stella daptor work or is it a atari game? Since there are only 228 paddle positions ok since i read the 1st post I think you would have to write 2 games or make 2 differnt carts or make a cart w game varation w the select switch I know this means more programming to get level selection 2 or 1 not being levels you master in game but game variations 1 or 2 I dont know and i hope you didnt use the select switch to make varaitions in game cause you would need a varation for paddle and joystick along as weather 2 players or single player automatic game. i think i will get out the De rae atari and the internal atari info binders and read up and type in checkers for assembler editor cart but use computer emulation so i can do it on laptop and save to harddrive witch i could load into atari using the ape thing. once i either type it in or read up on it I will understand c and atari 6502 and assembly language more.. then i could be more of input. but here would be a atari 800 example http://www.atarimagazines.com/compute/issu...ITH_PADDLES.php this would give hint if hit left boarder say left is up and right is down cause paddle in hand goes left right I forgot youre making pong. wow using a joystick would be harder than paddle.. fror writing pong cause w paddle you could make item match paddle value a joystick you would have to use boarder and have to emulate a paddle value anyway do you have a listing of game so far highliting the joystick routine so i could look at it im very interested in how a raw atari game looks on the atari in batribasic atari c++ before it goes atari bin...

Whell Contrary to common belife I read that Atari Licenced Pong from Ralf's company or I dont know but it clearly said Atari Licenced Pong for use in arcade witch was again contray to normal belife when i was a kid the pong unit and the arcade pong Atari machines were both in market at exact time. but the arcade pong unit clearly was a varient of ralfs 1st pong in video showing the for way controls he invertanly designed a analog up down left right joystick with out even knowing it could be hooked to a joystick just think they could have had a joystick for some other use but he had left right and up down on a TV 1st that was cool remember with lcd you could make monsters look exaclty like a sprite and you wouldnt beable to tell cause you could send a lie to the memmory sticks in the lcd to make sprites look exaclty like a blinking atari 2600 sprite but it could be a fake sprite that does nothing. but he ralf designed the 1st video game circut from scratch go online and look at his schmatics whooly crap he did those video schmatics w pencil !! just sitting around a lounge talking to someone about his invention.. thank god he decided to make all those board games interactive w the 1st magnavox oddessy even if there worth more as collector items than to play the idea of more than just pong made the oddyssy 1 cool I think he knew it was going to be a collectors item once more elabroate graphics came out so they made the oddyssey 2 witch was pretty ok and had masked roms in eeprom proms witch ment cart based games I wonder what extra chip games the oddysey 1 had that didnt just short pins weather it had a serial data out data in line 5v and gnd to run a chip if needed and if certian pins werent shorted what did if it did did it look for and could you write a oddyssy1 cart if you knew how... mostly i think the overlays were made for the built in games and the built in games must have been just like mazes or board games where you move squares around I had one but think i sold it I should have hooked it up 1st! mabie its still in the storage im my parents house mabie we should clean it out to vacume and take inventory.. I bet i find it that would be awesome..

I think you missed this little mini cool device as long as you do the MOD or purchase one of those 4pack looking batterie eliminator's witch are rare and dont last long at wallmart or target its a PLUG PLAY device in witch you use as battery eliminator it snapps in I cant remember if it screws in but for 4 aaa batteries the cost factor for using a power pack out weighs using $4 aaa batteries witch only last 45 minnutes just the point where you try to break youre best ralllyx hyper speed game.. oh i think you missed the KEY chains too there in there own class by them selfs the joystick ones even have a puny PAL jumper and a weird one witch produces a brown and black stripped test pattern with constant blaring tone too.. the paddle I forgot to rip apart just to see inside hmmm IDEA!! anyway I decided to use my keychain since i bought 6 of them at wallmart when they were remodling the store they decided to give in and put them on sale for $14 I decided hmm feb 14th ok june I thoght hmm who cares about 3 tv stations lame as they can be one 14 a relugius low power witch I drown out w my ch14 modulator for watching dvd's in front yard and 2 stupid lame shopping channels so i decided to mod my tv the 4 inch see threw one i got witch is almost so old its almost rotten you can barley see threw it anymore but the screen still works and i can get ½ hours on a $14 used alarm battery.. anyway I took a zenith rd mod and permanantly instlled the RF MODULATOR to ch3 inside the battery compartment and hard wired it to the antenna wires also i ran jumpers so all the RF and power connectors on the back can wiggle all they want and still be connected then replaced the single speaker wire strand for my instafuse!!! mini fuses are expensive and its soldered anyway so one speaker wire strand and solder gun and viola i have a permanant Atari . I permantly hooked the keychain power pack soldered the on off switch infact i bypassed it then hooked 5v from somwhere on the big chip on the tv since i blew video in I had to use ch3 rf besides it gets a perfect picture and i wanted to mutilate a nother Zenith box!!! i needed the rf RCA to F connectors for my SEARS Atari II console anyway.. NOW I have a tv that still gets UHF VHF and ch3 the power pack for the keychain always gets power and the rf mod is always on or crap i made a typo the RF mod uses 12v I just remembered the ZENITH RF MOD color code is as follows 1st break security screws on Z box then remove RF mod keep all wires and parts for spares.. then its like this Orange 12v + the whole can is (-) ground so just solder anywhere you want on metal to get a gnd then purple is video and yellow is audio ! I just used a old vcr rca module and just soldered left to right but since the keychain has mono it didnt matter I had used the rf mod for other things in the past.. now the cool thing is i can change from different joystick keychains w out changing anything on the tv just plug and play! SO IN short did you forget to list the mini packman joystick PLug play witch is similar to the Pacman big one I dont know i never played it.. and then there is the keychains.. OH i also have a plug play poker tournament game witch i rarely play witch has lcd on the top and plugs into the tv with cdrom so you can try online to goto vegas I cant remember witch service it uses for the cd but there not interactive with the plug play .. I also have a single paddle plug play paddle with Real Atari paddles NO jitter! and a atari joystick witch i need to solder a power pack to! oh lest i forget the modded Atari 2600 4 switcher looks like crap but has a flashback II inside it. Remember if you do enough scratching you can use the output of the 340t (lm7805) 5v + power regulator still using the original power switch then if you really scatch a lot you can use a dead 2600 mother board for youre cart mod connections also the b/w swtich is a double pole single throw switch anyway you must scratch the hell out of it to get it like that cause the both pole sides need to be seprate but it makes for some awesome flashing cause the b/w switch is so crappy you get some inbetween flashings its awesome I found the this area intemptly left blank and most of the time you can start a flashback game 1st !!! then insert fav cart then flash between them caverns of mars and the cart missile command is a cool one to flash between cause caverns of mars geeks missile command does pretty mutch nothing but caverns of mars does. also you can notice if you do it enough that some old memmory bits get STUCK in the flashback cart area since the area dosent fill up adv II the draggon and the bird I swear on some instances when you remove power and restart into that game the dragon and the bird "bat" sometimes are in the exact same pattern they were when it was last on this is cause the memmory is not ram its non volitile ram or some new ram but its not the original c-mos type ram witch is ram in a rom witch is cool if it was ram it would not always come up in the Damn adventure menu witch it does from time to time. I am glad you made a list of plug play item i think its cool. there using differnt ram than orginal atari ram witch was a portion of inside one of the chips wich was RAM in a rom it was not like a pal witch can be shut off and remember its last state it goes empty when you power off . ALso note the Ghosts in the mini pacman act differnt than the arcade motherboard are still predictable but in differnt ways remember you have to address the pacman ghosts in youre brain the exact way the computer chip ram there running addresses its own memmory. How i do this is i Play Galaxian 1st then pacman it seems you can if you play mame a lot and Atari Galaxain on game B then after 4 hours of play and complete a complete rotation of flags they start shooting then on the 800/400 there realy mad so using this techneuqe i just play galaxain 1st then remember how the real galaxain reacts in its wait states when the bees wait to drop it is differnt than the original galaxian and differnt than atari800/400 but its differnt by the way the thing addresses its memmory just like pacman I rollled on the floor almost on the plug play mini pacman cause the ghosts were rolling around in a square around the ghost house then for no apparent reason they sniffed me out cause i went back and fourth then down then back up you could tell they sniffed me threw memmory and took off in all directions after me the pink ghost proably ambushed me. its cool to notice the differnt memmory patterns like for instance the plug play mini pacman is ALL NAMCO this is why i think the ghosts act differnt there Japanese NO offence ment by this there Original and act the way there subposed to witch seems you can tell oh thats what Namco wanted when they designed pacman.. the ghosts are predictable but the memmory addressing of the Midway board allowed patterns and prdictability. but since the new game has the correct addressing and the memmory needed to run the video it runs the ghosts the way Namco wanted this is why i think the sound in that pacman sucks.. remember MIDWAY had pal type music chips proms witch sound better than synth sounds!. cause the Midway board produced Real tones where a synth uses sample sounds. from its wav table! even if its from the original 8bit soundblasters YAMAHA mpu401 chip . this is what makes Plug play games so cool you never know what the sound is going to be like untill you play them . breakout on the Mini key chain paddle to me is a great job. they could have made Warlords with more Difficulty setting game varitys. I know my spelling and punkt is lame. OH before i forget sorry for the long rant I just got up. AND PS. the list is awesome.

Unless there is some super-sophisticated high-society thing in the painting option that I ain't seeing, I'll never mess with it. It seems pointless. Though I do like the game part, after all it was the first raster-based 3d hardware-accelerated videogame I ever played. Unless you count Tempest and its mathbox processor. I thoght that was the case I didnt get a refund for the paint mode ... I was playing human cannon ball on flashback II untill the pillow fell off bed and hit the color/bw switch flipping the flashback into a graphics frenzy cause there was no external cart to switch to SO I powered off and on again and played untill i fell asleep I was playing the hard version where a line scrolls up and down w a crack in it so you have to shoot person threw line before getting to trampoline or net I got 2 points... then zonnked out..

I have been playing REAL pacman on Arcade Cocktail cabinet cause I wanted to test roms they work one of the ones i copied blew out... my fault. now it works .. the 2600 game i was playing the longest was missile command.. 2600 version .. i think im going to enter the paddle games on flashback then flash to missile command real cart and back to paddle game .. to see what that does ...

  9. That one 2600 game...... 1st choice is ''' Snoopy and the Red Baron.''' I had one but I gave my whole 2nd good will atari to a kid in need.. complete with power pack tv rca to f connector 2 joysticks and snoopy. BOY BOY BOY that was a nice thing I did for freinds neighbor.. But i wish I had bought more 2600's from goodwill for MYSELF !!!!!! they had many units i passed up carts too I so wish I would have had more back up systems and you cant ever get enough carts to rummage threw for youre self or when freinds come over on rare occasions when they actually want to play Atari You grab youre BLUE rubbermaid HUGE tub and say look what U want to play I like snoopy cause its fun but its a cart I dont have yet ..

I apoligize if my posts have been lame I always wanted a Famicom Since Funco started I wanted the short SUPER MARIO yellow japan Game ONCE I SAW freinds freind showed us you could jump past flag and actually get more points at 2nd flag but they had to return game to rental store I said hmm how mutch is the DAMAGE and they thought to them selfs good idea I dont remember if they paid the fine or kept it or returned it but i saw it only one day but it was cool... I think i saw one on ebay yesterday.. The other day I was on chinaproducts.com and some famicom's knock off's with 60 pin or 72 pin configurations but you had to buy 2000 at a time out of my budget...

I saw a Famicom Cart a long timeago at Funco and remembered he said it was avalible only in japan unless you had some finger board w socket and it was called a Famicom Japan family computer Nintendo entertainment system!! where someone got mattel who knows .. My next project will be to take my Game Station knock off FAMICOM 60 pin system and purchase a famicom cart to see if it boot if it does then all i have to do is buy famicom games or 60 pin to socket adaptor for like $19 witch is not bad for a new connector.. probably cost you more than $19 to etch youre self.. this also gives me a new prospective on 8bit nes i forgot completly about Famicom Japanese games for NES 8bit and furthermore the multi carts Like my 9,999,999 in one cart it came with witch turns out only 19 I kind of knew that but scratched a jumper off pcb and now it correctly says 19 in one .. the only thing i dont like is its THEME during game select on 19 in one cart is CIRCUS CHARLIE I hate that music.
  12. Yes, have some. Hands-on experimentation is pretty much the only way to learn. Start with a bare-bones display kernel as described by the tutorial (one that just draws a stable blank screen), then try adding stuff to it as you are reading though the tutorial...maybe some playfield background images, or a sprite. Try different ways of moving images around on the screen. If you have a game concept in mind, keep it very simple for starters. Resources on a stock 2600 are in very short supply, so don't try to tackle everything at once. The display comes first, and everything else is built around it. With no prior knowledge of assembly, getting anything on the screen (as intended) is an achievement in itself. would typing IN checkers for the atari 800 asembler editor help me understand programming from scratch ... I am thinking about learning 6502 and the raster of the atari2600 I kind of understand c but I think the atari would make me more interested in a boring language!!!!
  13. you could find a usb burner cheaper on ebay then atari age has carts as far as blank eeproms just purchase know not to work arcade pcb's even a working birdie KING II arcade pcb has 17 2732 chips in it!!!!.... most non working crappy titles arcade pcbs are pretty cheap... if you program youre own homebrews a cheap usb burner might be something you want there is nothing more satisfying than telling youre freinds you made YOURE OWN actuall atari game they could run on there own atari!!... also i think you can send Atariage a rom and the will put it in a eeprom if you get eeprom from them w the pixel past board..

  15. There is a different PCB for each density of EPROM. When you purchase one of their PCB's, you select what size EPROM you will use with it. --Selgus Not quite - the PCB for each size is identical, but the PLD has a different fusemap for each size. whats a pld.
  16. you can extract the pins if youre carefull and steal ones from a old nes connecotor then there is a super hard but effective way to hold back and push w super small jewler screwdriver then remove and replace making a part bent in a way that still works but stick down more!!! you might need 3 connectors to do it but its worth it..
  17. acroding to ben hecks page you just leave chip intact then ground that pin4 now do what i always did hold reset wilst powering on and it will stick most times!!!!!!!!!! sometimes i put a dime in reset button to remind myself dont push dime in all way or you have to go get it the holding reset should work.. also just use a blow game genie and solder the connector to the pcb w jumpers so it can wiggle all it wants I did this w my b/w portable seethrew tv on its power input plug its still stock plus jumper wires so the traces can be loose and it still connects..
  18. whell hacking a nes controler is pretty easy but you might need two wire holes cause you need 9 wires up dn l r a b select start... on mine i scrathed the non grounded mesh on the board for the a b buttons and used wires to SWAP them then soldered so a and b are normal!! this improved sysytem also did you try a genisis controler to see if it worked?. I wouldnt expect you to try to ruin a nes controler but mabie the joystick input chip is same as nes just differnt plug if so you could buy used nes on ebay cheap even if its broke and steal joystick connector and add one then you would esentally have a top loader!! ..
  19. The banks in these carts are swapped. You will need to break the 8k image into two 4k chunks, and concatenate them in reverse order. If you wish to use 27128 or 27256 EPROMs, you need to make sure Vpp is high (cutting traces and/or soldering jumper wires might be needed.) I have a cart i got from dreamcatcher I think thats his him anyway the cart says chris wilkson on its silk screen and has a pal on the back side witch says whell 1st off it has a amd symbol on it then numbers are PALCE20V8H-25PC/4 then 9506cba J I had him put snoopy on it cause i hadnot played that in a long time I one day got the burner working and made a copy of my hackomatic II hacked asteroids basicly © 1981 atari asteroids it worked but I havent been able to do it again since does the bank switch rom like those types or can they get stuck????????????? ... or do i need to concatenate witch I get even more confused. then DO I SEND in hex at 9600 bps to old 1980's burner then switch to binary and push program any help would be apreciated there is a 27512 in it w asteroids and it still works the original one he used is a SSS M2764 so since its running a copy on a 512 and both work I think i must be forgeting something as to what i send or how.. question does win98's hyperterminal work better than winxp's or should i use something else I did it at 7,1,none and it said file done witch means it took it properly I just dont know if i sent it correctly do any of you know of a smaller file I should try that is easyer to get working I can send a picture of burner if needed..

  21. That makes NO sense what-so-ever Nintendo cannot "knock-off" their own design. There are only 3 designs, Famicom, NES, NES/Famicom 2. Those are the official ones. Something makes me wonder if you're just acting anti-japanese, which is not acceptable. You've already made a comment on how fantastic the Yobo console was simply because it was Chinese manufactured, and I know that the Chinese do not look favourably on the Japanese so I think I have a valid cause for potential concern.   22. Wrong Nintendo ran off a Famicom IIRC; you got it backwards N8LITTLFIELD... NES was an american remake of the popular Super Famicom upgrade in Japan. Nintendo adapted the tech and added a new feature, a "block chip" thats why the screen goes green everyonce in awhile. green mine goes blue or just flashes game start for a couple of secs
  23. does a nes to famicom finger board actually work?????????????????? yes i agree the plastic is crap i had to rip the door off and when i opened it as the guy gave it to me he said dont expect mutch from the plastic and said the card pcb would boot w out cart plastic I already scratched the jumper so i had to remelt the cart back anyway,,,... as far as the original nes lock chip it just pissed me off as the swing crock... being that galoobs mail address is stacy mn no wonder they used gold plated pins like NINTENDO should have .. nintendo lost big when they had to give out the replacement conectors what a cheap gesture they shoud have given us famicom's not the remaning stock of crap they wernt going to use any way after we caught them price fixing nes tetris vs the atari tetris and the fact that atari was dumbenough to actully use the seal of quality I smelled crock Atari was big on © in the 1st place just look at asteroids ©1982 vs the original one witch instaboots... it just made all atari tengen® games worth five times more than a Nintendo tetris ok exept for now mabie TERTIS it self might be worth more cause its fun and addictive. my thing looks like a knock off playstation and sais game station nothing else only cost me $ 10. had to meet some local yokal at gas sataion was a craigs listing I was SACRED the whole time ...

I wish i had had the $ for a top loader famicom back then as nintendo was dumb for not doing that top load w gold connectors in the begining shows how obstenant nintendo actually is changing donkey kong and all the plexiglass marquees along w having © 1983 the © didnt bother me but to change not being able to stand under ladder made the game so lame i didnt want to play eventually any operator who wanted to make $ changed the roms back!!!! but kept the original marquee for them selfs so its like nintendo by mistake makes collectables .. so just permantly mount youre game genie then you should have no problems since the game genies connectors are gold and if that still dont work just do a wire wrap mod to permanltly jumper all connections from game genie to pcb this way it can move all around and who cares!!!!!!!!! hmm i wonder if game genie needs cleaning mine dont work!!! I also just got a bootleg nintendo so called GAME STATION no words on box exept pictures of shrek and a green 2 complete w princes picture witch has absoultly nothing to do w knock off famicon the sound is the same but someone must have spent hours on pika ( super mario brothers 8bit hacked to look like rabbit they changed bricks and music exept when you can shoot after 2nd flower it sounds same) there were subosed to be 9,999,999 games on it but guy who sold it to me said like 10 it actually only has 3 games on it and a lot of differnt starting points for TRACK AND FEILD it has pika (super mario hack) same game play then duck hunt then variations skeet shoot starts duck hunt right on skeet shooting then it has high jump long jump all trak and feild start points then i screwed around w jumper and changed it back to say 19 games instead of the 9,999,999 games but i wonder if the chip in the blob on the cart can hold 9,999,9999 or does it just repete them cause i think mabie it at the most probably holds 79 I actually saw a joystick that did hold 79 nintendo games it said 79,999,999 i bet that jumper could be scratched off too so now since it has 60 pins and the japan famicom has 60 pins im on the look out for famicom carts or pinball or a famicom converter finger board!!!! .... the bad things about game station 1st off its a piece of crap the plastic crumbles if youre to rough on it I bet im going to have to mount cart hole pcb onto a peice of wood just to keep it from breaking and the joysticks are only 2 feet long so as the rca and its MONO ok so is nes the other pin is subosedly RF i never even tried and the gun for sakes sakes is only 2 feet if you get close enough to the tv w the infra red led the game falls off anything and the power pack plug is 2 feet to so unless youre right next to a 13 inch tv youre sol I did however use a set of long rca cords and a extention cord and was able to put onto table im afraid the power pack will pull it down off table it it will crack in half its so brittle im thinking of making my own MAKE type box for it so i can mount the cart connector better If i get a famicom converter I will probably permantly solder it so i can wiggle all i want and it wont screw up .. I do however like the rapid fire sometimes althogh I had to solder reverse the a and b buttons cause YOU JUST CANT UNLEARN 8bit super mario after years of playing the a and b buttons have to be where there subposed to be!!! the mod was easy i just scratched the non gnded a and b buttons off then resoldered them w wires backwards it worked.. I was able to get farther in pika smb1
