  1. Do you think it would be possible for the SDX guys to make TDLine work with VBXE? A built-in TDLine would be great, maybe automatically disable SDX TDLine (if on), set a flag somewhere (if on), and re-enable (if previously on) at exit? Just a thought.... -K
  2. Any thoughts? I intend, of course, to remove the flash ROM chip on the MyIDE Internal. I should be able to use the MyIDE OS on the U1MB if I should want to, but I will probably just use normal OS and use MyIDE SDX driver. I don't think there would be any $D1xx conflicts. I am afraid to spend the money on the U1MB until I know this will work, but the more I think about it, I think it will work. -K
  3. doctorclu, Would you be able to open up the 1027 printer and check the condition of the print drum? They generally fail in 2 ways. It will dry-rot and fly apart, or it will be sticky and gummy, and will deform and jam the printer. Thanks. -Kyle
  4. I wish someone could translate it to English. I know a few German words, but not enough to read the documentation for this program. Also, how to run it? Booting from the disk doesn't seem to work. I tried Atari 1200XL BASIC Cart both IN and OUT. It will show ";:RUN"D:LOAD.SYN on the screen, when I edit that to be RUN"D:LOAD.SYN, it still locks up in both SDX, and MyDOS. -Kyle
  5. Has anyone tried this: Modify the 1200XL to use single 28 pin EPROM OS, connect BOTH sockets the same, install Ultimate1MB in one socket, and Internal MyIDE in the other? I would love to try it so I can have a hard drive and leave the cart port open. Also, it would be Awesome if there is enough space left over somewhere where we could put OSS type bank switch cart ROMs in the Ultimate1MB flash too. I think the first idea is may be possible, but I don't have enough information to even guess about the second idea. Just dreaming, I guess. -Kyle
  6. Like I said before, I have had only POSITIVE experiences with Brad Koda for many years, including asking him some very "geeky" and "technical" questions on the phone. Brad is a good man, and we should all thank and support him for being one of the last true Atari dealers in business. I bought a 1400XL from him back in the day.... I wish I remember now who I traded it to... -K
  7. As long as the keyboard was 'real'.... It must have NO extra / unused keys, and have Correct Atari symbols on each key.
  8. I agree with you both, if that makes sense. I have mutilated a few 1200XLs in the quest for new features, etc. cut holes for CF cards, etc. but I like the all internal mods that involve the fewest number of hot-glued down wires. I am looking for a clean, unmodified 1200XL to do *ONLY* the mods I want, and do it cleanly. That brings me to my second statement, which is actually a question. Bob, in your Clearpic 2002, do those really need to be 1 (one) ohm resistors, or may I simply use a wire? Thanks. -K
  9. This is a bank switch cart. It uses the same cart board as BASIC-XL. I used to work with them back in the day. It would be GREAT if we could get a ROM dump of this! Carefully open the cart, and read each of the two chips in a programmer device. They should be 2764's in there, 8K each. The light on the 1200XL came on because, IIRC, the cart uses extended RAM. -Kyle
  10. Anyone who has one, Let's try to dump the EPROMs of these. Spec-1 uses a standard OSS style cart, but it REQUIRES the BASIC chip onboard to be replaces with a custom EPROM. Spec-2 is just an OSS cart with two 2764 EPROMs in it with the Spec-2 software. NO internal mods necessary. I will look everywhere I can to find these files, but I don't have much hope of finding them. If I do find them, I have a really nice old Sunrise Z-1000b Programmer that will easily burn the EPROMs. I also have an empty OSS cart board here somewhere, although those should be available from the usual sources, cart plastics too. -K
  11. that is the program, the xex listed above is just the TB runtime, the ctb.bas is the program, but, it is the demo version I made. I obfuscated the code so no one could hack it, but, since I lost the source disk, i locked myself out I only sold ONE copy of it... -K
  12. I used to help out DSI doing repairs on Indus drives, 800XL's and 130XE's and such. I had all the Spectraview stuff, but, it has been such a long time. If I get the chance, I will visit my old house and search for floppy disks and EPROMs. I highly doubt I will find anything, but it's worth a try. The Spec-1 and Spec-2 carts use 2 2764 EPROMs on an OSS cart bank switch board, same as BASIC-XL. Cart plastics are the same, made by Solakian Mold Co. Fresno, CA. and are the same as Steve uses for his Flash Carts.
  13. We have all the info on the 1400/1450 motherboards, Why can't someone with some money (I wish I had) design and manufacture a new 14xx board, complete with Uliimate 1M, VBXE, and all the other goodies on board, and make it to fit a 1200XL case, with a template to cut out the PBI slot and make it look professional? I know it is very time consuming to do the 3D printer thing, but how about re-producing the plastic case? If you want to get really crazy, put a 65816 in it, and also a Z80 (or Z380) so it can run CP/M, using the VBXE to display 80 Col. so WordStar looks nice. The possibilities are almost endless. This would best be made by using as many "classic" chips as possible, and NOT using "soft CPU" FPGA's. With today's modern technology, this would be possible, and i think it would sell, IF it is as COMPATIBLE as possible with existing Atari hardware (SIO Devices), etc. Standard Parallel and serial ports would be OK, but retaining 850 interface compatibility would also be nice. Built-in SpartaDOX-X and Built-in OSS BXL, BXE, Action, M65, easily disabled with a COLD /N so "classic" Atari software could be booted... One 5 1/4 360K Floppy, one 3 1/2 720K (or 1.44M) Floppy, and internal IDE HD Combine ANTIC/GTIA Video with VBXE into a single output, so only one monitor required. That would be my Dream System. A guy has a right to dream, doesn't he......
  14. I have dealt with Brad for years, and have NEVER had a problem with him. -K
  15. Here is an .ATR image, hope it works. -K TurboNTSC.atr
  16. Sorry. I sent it thru APE PC Mirror. I'll try again later after work.
  17. I hope I did this correctly... Attached should be TurboBASIC-XL complete package for NTSC Clock. Includes Linker. Linker DOES NOT WORK if compiled and linked. Run it in TBASIC. Please let me know if it works for you. *** PLEASE RENAME TO TBNTSC.ARC*** For some reason, it wouldn't let me attach .arc file. Just remove the .zip from the filename. -K TBNTSC.ARC.zip
  18. I think I *FINALLY* found it here http://www.atariarchives.org/cfn/05/08/0041.php -K
  19. Thanks for TBFIX. It seems to work on TBasic, but runtime says already modified. I'll look into this. I got them both from the same .atr image, so I can't think one would be already modified, but not the other. -K
  20. Hi Jon, I don't mean to ask an obtuse question... I have read everything I can find, but still can't figure how to load a large file (39K) in LW. When I use ^D and select it, it loads and says Linked at the lower left. I tried selecting the other banks, but they are empty. Do I need to find a way to manually split the file into smaller chunks? This is a LONG listing of a BASIC program with many many references of D1: I would like to change to D:, plus lots more changes to make it more efficient with TurboBASIC-XL running on SDX. Thanks, -Kyle
  21. One particular (shitty) program I remember was writen in BASIC, that used it's own proprietary DOS. I was able to break out of it (by MANY times of trial and error) and do a LIST "C: I then ENTER "C: after booting a normal DOS, and saved it to disk. I then heavily modified it to fit my needs, and then it was great -K
  22. I love the Quantizator / RastaConverter pic quality of the .xex output on a REAL Atari. My question is: How can I load these pics into a (Compiled and linked) Turbo-BASIC-XL proram I want to write? I want to make a light gun (or joystick) shooter game. I want to display these pics, one pic per level, and have the user shoot at a particular place on each picture. This should be easily possible, if I knew how to load the pictures. Thanks! -Kyle
  23. Does anyone here remember the TBASIC patch for NTSC time functions? IIRC, the clock would run too fast using the time functions. 10 pos.5,5:?time$:g.10 seems to run fast. There was also a patch for runtime. Google has been no help so far. Thanks! -K
