Want help: Fold RunCPM Emulation into #FujiNet
Kyle22 replied to tschak909's topic in #FujiNet SIO Network Adapter
Link to DT80.CAR? I want to try this. -
Could a method be provided where we could type FUJUNET -CONFIG /C or something like that to disable / enable Config boot from the Atari side? Useful for SDX. Example: -CONFIG to turn it off. +CONFIG to turn it on. /C for coldstart. This would be useful for those who don't have a Windows / Mac / Linux machine. Yes. Those users exist.

What is the maximum capacity of SD card? I have a 64G in mine and it can't see it.

It's possible to write a BBS using N:, does anyone care?
Kyle22 replied to tschak909's topic in #FujiNet SIO Network Adapter
@_The Doctor__ This isn't about the 850. It is about packets vs concurrent mode. I would welcome a BBS based on the N: device. It has been too long since I have coded, and I have the store now, so not much time available. If anyone wants to take this on, I'll test it on my Incognito [WHEN I get video fixed]. -
NecroBump... What equals zero here: https://joedubs.com/vortex-based-mathematics-numerically-conceptualizing-reality/ :)

Does it really take up too much space in the device, or is the Atari too low on RAM to view a text file catalog of disks so I know which one to mount as D1:? Config sounds like the perfect place for it. I need to read the file so I know which disk to mount.

See pic.

It would be very helpful when using the Homesoft game collection.

Running a BBS in CP/M (BYE and LISTEN)
Kyle22 replied to tschak909's topic in #FujiNet SIO Network Adapter
That's great. I love the speed. Now, about the memory... I suspect I already know the answer, but: Is Z380 with some RAM out of the question? Wishful thinking... :) -
It should be RHND850, IIRC.
-
It could, but wouldn't T: be nice? Nobody uses it anymore. Let 1030 Express work again. [And so much more possibilities].

This would be AWESOME. Could BBS Pro! modules work, or do we need to write a whole new system. Thanks for your input. -
An interface to the old non used T: device could be redirected to a RasPi device on the network running Telegram. A module to link Telegram to BBS Express Pro would be possible and wonderful.
-
V: devices are reserved for the Votrax speech chip, per Atari 14x0XL(D) specifications. Please do not use for other things. It will create an incompatibility.
-
If this can be done using SIO commands, then it should be easy to script in SDX with POKE commands to the DCB followed by RUN $E459.

Instead of making fun of me, why don't you look into the problem and help fix it? -
Stock (2 chip) 1200XL OS doesn't seem to work. I did exactly this... Loaded DOS 2.5 w/ a BXL cart in a 1200XL. Only mod to 1200XL is bypassing the evil SIO resistor. FujiNet has full power. BASIC XL version 1.03 (c) 1983, OSS Ready OPEN #1,8,0,"P4:" Ready ?#1;"HELLO. I AM SAM." Like Schultz, I hear NOTHING but a quick SIO transaction and I see a blink on the orange light. Since CIO/SIO worked w/o error, could be the firmware? I updated it a few days ago.
-
OK. Make a card in 800 form factor that has a PBI port right inline w/ Incog's port. Use slot for stability and power if needed. For XL users all you need is a case and possible power supply for it. Just have a PBI ribbon cable coming out of the case. It can work both ways. Edit: and put a daisy chain PBI port on the back of the card as well for future devices.

Shit! Now we know the pins aren't long enough. Edit: I mentioned this before and was discredited, BTW. -

Belt sander time. Hold the SIO port FLAT w/ the belt and remove 3/16 to 1/8". Trim off the burrs w/ a small pocket knife. -
Problems booting software? Post here.
Kyle22 replied to tschak909's topic in #FujiNet SIO Network Adapter
I'll see what I can do. I don't have a Win 10 machine anywhere near the Atari. I'll try to boot WinPE and see if I can capture an image or text file for you. -

@tschak909 I am very forgetful. Sorry if I ask more than once. I am a scatterbrain. I don't mean to offend you. I hook it it up to a 1200XL w/ SIO resistor fix ONLY. Rest is stock. I get Fortress to boot from TNFS server Ras Pi. 64GB card. Direct cable plug in to WRT1900AC. I used a Win 10 machine to D/L the latest firmware. It looked like it worked. I still can not boot MOST things I try. This thing really SUX at this point. I KNOW it can be better. Fortress will not boot again. Very un-reliable at this point. NOT at all being negative, just Reporting. -
I want an 800 card. :)

@tschak909This is beautiful. I love WordStar. My question is (and I may have asked b4 [I am VERY forgetful]): Can I print from WordStar (or an Atari program) to a normal Windows network printer DIRECTLY w/o using .pdf? Example hp OfficeJet Pro 7740 I hope this can be done. Just set a default printer on your network and change if necessary. That would be great.
