  1. Shawn, selling fraudulant goods on ebay is actually an FBI case, as the transaction can take place across state lines. I know this because my friend's business got ripped off, and the goods were sold on ebay. Contact the feds, $1000 constitutes grand larceny in most states.
  2. try taking it apart, and remove the 72 pin connector. then re seat it, and see what happens.
  3. what are the symptoms? i used to work on nes stuff when it was new. The 72 pin connector is NES no doubt about that, the famicom has a 60 pin configuration thet required an andapter to play nes games (and vice versa). maybe it's a simple mechanical fix. if you knew how many nes's had the connector come loose, you'd swear they were put together with spit and bubblegum. and for these knockoffs, they are usually made by kids in sweatshops in thailand, or just by unskilled laborers. let me know what the problem is, and maybe you will be able to salvage it.
  4. [i GUESS IT WAS TOO HARD, BUT I GOT MANY MORE THAN THAT BEFORE I GOT THE ANSWERS THE ANSWERS ARE IN SPOILER FORM BELOW, IN CASE YOU WANNA TRY
  5. ok i will eat crow on those two, but star tropics 2 did horribly but i will say that those games were not "Must Haves" either like Punch-Out, or Super Mario Brothers.
  6. at the end, when stores just wanted rid of the wide selection of games, i picked up a few at bargain basement prices. snoopy vs red baron- $4.99 pigs in space - $1.99 Rescue Terra I-$1.99 There was a closeout store here called odd-lot, thet around the time Colecovision came out, had TONS of games the most expensive ones were $9.99 lots of M-network titles, Tons of coleco too. They sold refurb systems too colecovisions were $69.99 refurb intellivision systems and atari refurbs were $39.99 they also had the Aquarius computer attachments, and ADAM. by the time the market crashed, there was not one game more than $4.99
  7. Maniac Mansion was HUGE back in the day. (As were most LucasFilm/LucasArts games.) Wikipedia's article has this to say about it: That doesn't sound like a little-known game to me. extremely popular on computers, sure, so was day of the tentacle, but not on the nes. i would say a "Popular" game would be a mario, a metroid, Mike Tyson's punchout, and the like. not some of the lesser known releases for the NES. oh and i forgot, shadowgate was awesome too, but had no replay value whatsoever also there were first party nintendo games i would consider not-so-popular Star Tropics, faxanadu, urban champion, to the earth, but by far the one game i should be shot for not remembering, is River City Ransom. looked uglier than sin, but had amazing gameplay.
  8. maniac mansion was anything but popular.....
  9. maniac mansion the legend of kage elevator action 3-d world runner stinger (awesome as it gets) who framed roger rabbit jaws
  10. yeah i know, but i'm at work, and the damned as400 emulator only sees caps, so sometimes i forget to switch them off.
  11. I SAW THIS LOT, AND HAD TO WONDER, HOW MANY OF THE GAMES CAN YOU NAME IN THE PICTURE? I WILL EMAIL THE GUY FOR A LIST (NO CHEATING)
  12. i beat the game back in the day without all thesae fancy sheets, but the swordquest games have me baffled to this day.
  13. the way that comic and baseball card values are established is that they get a few reputable sources, they assign a value to an item, then they track the sales to see if it is more or less in demand than the previous month. that is a solid way to assume value. But as far as rarity, you would have to have all of us register transactions, after amassing a complete detailed log of our collections. only then would you be able to accuratley determine how rare the games are in the collector's market. even then there would be factors like how often it shows up for sale, trade or stays in a collection. big big undertaking, and a pain in the ass to keep updating. if someone really wanted to, there is a way to actually crunch all this data, and make it accurate. or we can all just have fun, playing pitfall, frogger and my favorite....Krull
