  1. That's the perfect solution for any income
  2. But he can't be switching 2 and 6 chip TOS sets between these machines??? The rev B board doesn't even have sockets for the rest???? Also, why would the revision 5 have 6-chips and the revision B have 2? I would have thought moving to less chips is an advancement??? So far, all the 520STm/520STfm/1040STfm I have come across are 6-chip. Obviously, the 520STm is an old machine. But did they ever move to 2-chip TOS in the 520STfm/1040STf/1040STfm? I haven't seen inside many ST, but this Mega is the first one I've even seen (even thought it's a picture!) to have 2-chip TOS. So is 2-chip TOS a Mega ST thing, or which of the (obviously pre-STe) machines had the 2-chip TOS? Thanks. I think late model STFMs came with 2 chip TOSes aswell. Never forget that the STFM remained in production after the STE came on the market!
  3. I guess that's a good choice.... AFAIK, it's still supported... Seconded! With lp's new editor, compiler and shell it is a good pick for modern overpowered Ataris like TT and up.
  4. Qed is certainly the best bet for any Atari ST with more than 1MB of RAM.
  5. Great title pic! This game is already better than many many 1982 vintage commercial releases. Big kudos!
  6. I don't think any circuit board is needed to add double sided capability. It *might* a HD mod however. However hard to tell without any information on the exact fitting, wiring and components of the addin board.
  7. The linkedproject might be of interest to you. They plan to build the interface to the Atari directly into a modern optical mouse. If it works and doesn't cost too much, it will probably end up as the most hazzle free solution. E.q. no adaptors where cables can be pulled loose. http://dbug.kicks-ass.net/dbugforums/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1281275443
  8. Got it now! Thanks for pointing out - I didn't realize that it was added there!
  9. Where can I download the current version?
  10. According to the Enhanced Joystick Ports Faq (http://www.atari-forum.com/wiki/index.php/The_Atari_Enhanced_Joystick_Ports_FAQ) it should be possible to build an adaptor to connect a jagpad to the normal joystick port. See section 3.6 This would enable to play all joystick using ST games with the jagpad but ofcourse not all jagpad buttons will have functionality. Directions and a generic firebutton, like a true joystick. I haven't tried this piece of wires myself yet but does not look too complicated to build.
  11. Penta and Nuclear Waste Dump support the jagpad on STE too
  12. A very nice game! Too bad I have no Harmony cartridge or other means to play it on my real 2600jr
  13. Can you use a standard joystick with one hand? Pistogrip styled ones for sure - even the Competition Pro can be used with one hand although the fire button use might be less responsive.
  14. Sega Master System pads and Sega Megadrive pads with 3 buttons work fine - Megadrive pads with 6 buttons do only work in the mouse port. Do the 3 button or 6 buttons register as one action button? I noticed the joysticks I found online listed for ST compatible have one or two buttons. One of the buttons responds as the ST firebutton, B iirc. The others are dead and do not function.

  16. Let's see! I also asked at the German forum at atari-home.de and I already got offers from someone. Maybe this will involve into a joint order. If anyone is interested, please see http://forum.atari-home.de/index.php?topic=6889.0 too. Thanks for your repleis in any case!
  17. Emphasize added by me .. ofcourse loading TOS from disk chops away another 256K from whatever amount of RAM is installed. Use the builtin TOS if you need that RAM or alternativly as it is an STE upgrade the ROMs so you can run 2.06 from ROM.
  18. Hello together, is there a distributor for the Harmony cart in Europe? I mainly do not trust Paypal or their liking and I would prefer to pay per bank transfer which seems to be unavailable for orders in the US.... I'd really like to get such a cart cheers, ssb
  19. That's sounds like a great idea! I'd certainly would want one! Is there a highscore competition running for this game yet? I'm interested how good other players are at this...
  20. A nice game so far - and I like it! 2 things are a bit annoying though, that red asteroid seems to have nonpredictable movement which sometimes such forces you to make a crash with it. Like when you are lined up above the landing site and suddenly the asteroid comes straight at you from the screen border. The landing has to be pixel perfect at the moment. Looking at the big landing pads on the player's craft allowing a margin of another pixel to left and right might be a good thing. This coudl also be configurable via the difficulty switches or the SELECT button.. Keep it going - i'd love to have a way to check in on my real 2600jr
  21. I don't remember the exact one but it was a key combo to press. It was quite obvious listed on the builtin help screen. Try looking for that screen, maybe HELP leads you there....
  22. The ST Offline Tournament now has an official blog. All game announcements and other STOT related news will be posted there from now on. Make sure to add this to your RSS feeds. http://www.npoi.de/stot/
  23. Maybe then you should simply get a real Atari ST instead if you want to use oldschool ST terminal applications?
  24. Well, credible people being turned away from AF in the last years certainly had a number of causes :> In the end, it would be the best to reboot AF completely, install a less hackprone forum software and start the thing over.
  25. Atari Dealers had replacement warranty stickers to use them after upgrades and such. I know people who have a bunch of them even today. Hehe! Perfect to spoil those Collectors
