Wow, I have to ask for the people with large collections...do you find that you play only 1/10 of them or do you make an effort to play most?I make an effort to play each and every one of them. I guess that comes with the territory of being a rabid gamer and collector.

Stan:
Dodge 'Em has a finite score potential of 1,080 and yes, the game just ends. There are currently 6 gamers in the TG database who have accomplished this (with sufficient proof). I'm sure MANY more have done so and just submitted a score.
Here the link:

My goal is to build a nice collection of as many VCS titles as I can and just enjoy playing them.

Here's what I have so far:

*NOTE: The dupes are label variations (pic vs. text, colour, etc.)

Damn, I really need to start submitting some of my scores! I'm certain I've scored over 200,000 on Alien.--Jason
I played just enough to beat the current WR and quit. Please don't make me play that game again...

The flamethrower, on the early levels, may make the aliens reverse direction for say 0.000000001 of a second. Yep, that's pretty worthless...
Check out the Alien (VCS) world records at:

Broncoman, do you ever go to Castles & Coasters? Brien King, Shane Monroe, Dan Coogan and I all live in Glendale and Phoenix. We should hook up for some fun arcade action or some VCS gaming.

I would love an online pong game to play against other people.Does anyone know if one exists? we could have an AA tournament.

Twin Galaxies held a Pong tournament at CGE this past year. We had it on a QuadraPong and had about 10 people enter. I am proud to say the Championship certificate now adorns my gameroom wall.

There was also a Puppy Pong there which Nolan autographed that lots of people played on. It was at the main entrance to the hall.

I use Brien King's Cart Commander. You can get it here for free...

I have two (2) Vectrex's. I gave one to Brien King with 11 carts and kept the other with a Multi-cart. I bought mine from http://www.4jays.com (with Multi-cart) and paid $265.00 USD.
Look here:

I think it's well worth the price and I play with the Veccy at least once a week.

I love Beamrider! Unless I'm playing it on my GBA, then it's nightmarish... VCS was never meant to have a D-Pad. Still fun though.

Sed quis custodiet ipsos custodes?Indeed. Who will watch the watchers?

Working for the government, we have an agency that watches over all online activities. Who watches them?

I've survived the full 20 minutes numerous times. My problem is I can never get to the last treasure in time for a perfect score...

My three would be:
TRON (currently own)
Ms. Pacman (currently own)
Robotron: 2084 (don't own, yet.)
Anyone want to trade a working Robotron for a working Bosconian???

Out of curiousity, does TwinGalaxies keep track of records for console games (i:e- Atari 2600) ?I was wondering if you had an entry for an obscure game called Spitfire Attack. I hope to someday attempt to roll this game though it gets very difficult after a certain amount of points.
Absolutely! We track just about every console out there as well as coin-ops and pins.
Head over to http://www.twingalaxies.com and check us out. Use the "Search the Scoreboard" feature to look up platforms and titles. Please keep in mind this dBase is by no means even close to complete. We are in the process of a complete re-write of the site and total re-architecture of the data model, which will allow us to greatly enhance the number of systems and games covered.
To answer your specific question on Spitfire Attack:

I consider myself both.
I have over 30 systems with approximately 2,500 carts and currently hold over 300 world records with Twin Galaxies.
-
I just finished adding: 122 scores to the TG dBase for the following Atari 7800 games:
Asteroids
Centipede
Donkey Kong
Food Fight
Galaga
Joust
Mario Bros.
Ms. Pacman
Pole Position II (Test Track)
Xevious
Be sure to check them out as there are SEVERAL new World Records.

Enjoy!

David:
I've tried it over the net and it isn't terrible... I would not want to compete on a title over the net as it is a tad slow (even on MY connection) and packet loss is a regular occurance.
Call or IM me sometime. I'll play online with ya'.

Two more patches today:
Ice Hockey
Keystone Kapers
Anyone else going for all the patches too? I just picked up a copy for Todd Rogers so I guess he'll be the first to get them all...

-
Long time Starmaster 2600 World Record holder :-)I love that!

I am still open to suggestions on how to make the PDF a better resource for those interested. I know it isn't the greatest, but it's a start.
-
I just bought a newer Gravis Gamepad Pro (USB) and this is much better. I earned my Stampede patch tonight with no effort at all. It's amazing the difference when you have a working/good controller.

When TG hit the front page (Donkey Kong story), we had over 2.5M visitors per day for 3 days. And yes, it crashed our server at least twice daily...

Here's link (as per usual) to the current scores in the Twin Galaxies database.
http://www.twingalaxies.com/cgi-perl/searc...latformSelect=5
Yes, so far, Todd is the only one to submit a HexaNine score. Why 999,999? Because at the time, Activision was only reporting and publishing scores up to 999,999 even if the score counter rolls. Go figure.
As for me, you ALL have my pathetic score beat...
