  1. I just threw the cart in after about 10 years at least of compounded dust was blown off it.

I scored an astounding perfect 5840!!! Oh Yeah! So how do I get on that high score thingy  ;)

    Simple...

Just send your tax deductable donations... err, scores, to this station care of the Cadre Widow Fund. We'll send you a free case of Cadre Cola! :)

    o.k., enough movie "paraphrasing"...

If you really want to submit your score, drop me a PM or e-mail and I'll getcha started. :)

  2. I'm way ahead of you. I registered about two weeks ago, and emailed you for some rules and some submission forms before my Atari was even repaired. I can gaurantee you will be receiving some videotape of my high scores before too long, hopefully a perfect game of Pitfall being one of them.

Cool! I look forward to your scores. :)

  3. I know this post is a little old by now, but I figured I'd post it here rather thatn starting a new thread. Fixed my Atari 2600, and immediately got back to playing my games. I am happy to say, for the first time in my life I have "beaten" Pitfall! I reached the final treasure with 11 seconds remaining, and a final score of 113957. I hit two logs early on, and also had used up all of my lives, so I can definitely improve. Needless to say. . .confidence is very high, and I will be working towards that "Perfect Game"!!! Twin Galaxies. . .be prepared for a new member of the Pitfall! club!!!!!

Sweet! Once you achieve your "perfect" game, or even if you don't, please, by all means, register with TG and submit your score! :)

  4. Ah, no problem. Please consider my post just a bug-report, not an attack :)

I'm currently in the process of recreating the Scores page on the Epyx Shrine. due the lack of score submissions I decided to give-up on recording them on my own, but rather just sort of mirror the current TG scores for the Epyx games and send people your way.

The only thing I'm currently concerned about his how I can keep my page updated without checking the complete TG database every week...

You don't offer customized displays or something like that, which people could merge into their hompages?

    Greetings,

        Manuel

Unfortunately, no. At this time, our dBase is very limited in functionality. We are working on that, but it'll take some time.

As for bug reports, the more the better. We have been working for 2+ years trying to squash as many as we can. But, as you have noticed, we miss a few from time to time. :) We ask that if anyone find a bug in the site or dBase to please let us know so we can fix it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

  5. Ok, what is the problem?  What am I missing?

First, there is 6 disciplines listed, when the game only has 4.

Then, both the disciplines "Footbag" & "Hacky Sack", which in my eyes should refer to one and the same discipline, feature each a high score from Ron Corcoran. Now, if that wasn't strange enough having two different names for the same discipline, how can one and the same guy submit scores for each? Different scores BTW... ?!?

    Greetings,

    Manuel

This is a problem from the import of Steve Knox's database into the TG database. Yes, we are well aware of SEVERAL issues and problems with the database. We are currently in the process of re-architecting the whole site to include the database, so please bear with us and our mess.

    Thanks,

    Any ideas?

  7. Sorry for the lack of response to this. I apologize to all concerned.

O.K., here is the deal. As far as CGE is concerned, we were all swamped (Todd ran the 4 Atari 2600 events, Brien King ran the CV tournament and I ran the Robotron event as well as the TG booth). Due to the hectic tournament schedule, Todd was unable to give a "public" demonstration, however, he did have time after the show Sunday and was able to accomplish 32.50 which we did capture on VHS.

I hope this answers some questions and finally puts to rest the Barnstorming issue. If not, let me know and we can talk more about it. :)

  8. Hi Ron,

I didn't know you even had lists such as the one you mentioned in your previous post.  That's cool!  It would probably not be very difficult to track down some of these folks.  The tough part is to find some that still have an interest in Atari.  Once you cross that hurdle with someone, then the really tough part is to find one that still has photographic proof for verification.

I didn't even maintain photos of all my scores.  I sent many in to Activision and didn't have a copy for myself.  They weren't listed anywhere, since they weren't Activision world records, but there were still some really great scores lost to this dilema.  The trick would be to locate the old files from Activision's consumer relations department with all the photos for club registrations, etc.  Now that would be some history!    :(

Actually, it's a lot harder than one might imagine... :( I have tried looking (in phone books, the web, etc.) for years and have only been able to track down 4 of the 40+ names I have. Guess I'll just have to keep trying. :)

  9. Yeah, I picked up one of those frames at last year's CGE.  I need to see if I can get some to sell from our store.  :)  I have mine on my car, but I don't have a cool ATARI vanity plate.  I highly doubt I'd be able to get that here in Texas!

    ..Al

You know, I thought that too seeing as Pheonix (Maricopa county) has over 3M residents now... you owe it to yourself to at least check and see if it's available... what can it hurt? :)
