Steve: I'll look thru my dupes and if I have an extra Breakout, it'll be in the mail tomorrow.

IMHO, I have found the 800 to be the best overall Atari 8-bit computer. I'm not saying any other is bad, but only that my experience with the 800 was very, very painless.

I was supposed to get one copy of Supercade and I never received it. I sent at least two emails to Van and never got a response. I have no idea what happened to her or the game. She shows up at CGE every year... maybe we should (figuratively), pin her down and find out what the deal is... ? Excerpt from supercade.com "DUE TO THE REVISED RELEASE DATE FOR SUPERCADE, FINISHED CARTRIDGES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL FALL 2001. WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED VIA EMAIL TO CONFIRM ADDRESS AND CONTACT INFORMATION PRIOR TO SHIPMENT. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE DELAY." AND THE WINNERS ARE... 01. BILL AUGUSTINE 02. AL BACKIEL 03. CHRIS CAVANAUGH 04. TOM CERNIK 05. BILL COMBS 06. RON CORCORAN 07. PAUL CORTEZ 08. ROLOFF "DELETO" DE JEU 09. JOHN DONDZILA 10. CHARLES DYSERT 11. CARL FORHAN 12. NICHOLAS FREEMAN 13. LAURA IM 14. Thanks Thomas! That thread (and your explanation) makes it very clear on how to handle 4K+ roms.

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try this weekend.

If DiStella is used for <4096, what is used for >4096? I tried to disassemble Asteroids (8192) and DiStella throws an error... Help?!

Lately, other than the 2600 Timed Deca I have been playing Wizard of Wor on the Bally Astrocade.

Yes, it is in the Nevada desert, but be advised, they keep in quite chilly in the convention hall itself.

Try this site out. This is where I bought many of my systems over the years. http://www.4jays.com/colecovision.html

SUPERB!!! I loved it! Encore, encore!

Married 17 years and have a 16 yr. old daughter. They both have accepted I'm an Atari junkie and am beyond hope.

I play about 20 hours per week and spend an additional 10-15 hours per week reviewing scores for the database and book of world records. Yeah, I need a life too...
-
No. If you are older than 13 *now*, you may submit a score regardless of when ou actually achieved it.
-
Yes, Twin Galaxies will accept scores for homebrew games. It is my opinion that they are just as good (and in some cases better) than commercially produced games and therefore warrant recognition. I do ask, since it is far more difficult for the masses to videotape a homebrew game, that all submissions be sent via an .avi produced by PCAEWin 2.4+. If you own a device that allows you to play the game on a real VCS, then by all means, please feel free to submit your score on vhs cassette.
-
I will have to cast my vote for VP. Purely a matter of preference and not a statement of which is "better".
-
Videotape You record your entire game on tape, which will show the score roll as you continue on your way. As a matter or form, TG requires videotape for any submission on a game in which the score rolls.
-
You can follow either methodology. Either directly record your game as NE146 suggested (the preferred method) or use a video camcorder and use the "over the shoulder" approach you describe. If you do in fact sit back a ways from the TV, please ensure the camera is close enough to show all detail in the game.

I have 4 copies of VCS Pacman and each have some minor variation except for one. The Sears Tele-games label, while similiar, has a completely different colour scheme. It is Red compared to Yellow or Orange on the others.
-
Walter has stated in the past that 13 is the minimum age for which we can accept scores. This may have changed as this was a few years ago.
-
Stan: Awesome score! Yes, if you videotape your achievement, and send it to me (send me an e-mail for the submission form & instructions) I will get you into the database and Book of Records.
