  1. Paul: Thanks for the info! I may still write a GUI based proggy (similiar to StellaeGraph) as a POC.
  2. We're bringing several actually.
  3. Atari 2600 Racing Days games announced! Here is the e-mail from Todd "MrActivision" Rogers: Hello Ron : I've heard back from Don Garlits. It's a go, he says ok! As for my ideas about the racing days games here it goes: DRAGSTER----FASTEST TIME wins $25.00 + 8x10 of me and Don Garlits signed and a Dragster cart signed by me and Don. BARNSTORMING #2------default settings GRAND PRIX #4------- FASTEST TIME ENDURO-----most miles in a 15minute time limit or when dead DECATHLON----100M DASH fastest time I havent figured out yet what 2nd & 3rd place will win, but i will come up with something... thanks Ron your friend Todd Todd Mr Activision Rogers http://www.beatthechamp.com
  4. There is an emulator dedicated to BBSB and Miner 2049'er. Check out Big Five Software for the FREE download.
  5. Their website is a bit behind, but they do offer downloads: http://www.poptronics.com/current/contents.html
  6. I gather from the lack of responses no-one knows of such an animal. So... looks like I'll build one and make it freely available...
  7. Awesome work Randy! Keep it up and we'll keep laughing
  8. Has anyone created a proggy that will allow for the easy creation of sprites/stamps for the 2600? I know of, and use, Christopher Pepin's excellent Stella-Graph for creating playfields (which I have updated to VB6), but is there a tool such as this for creating sprites? Aynone? Thanks.
  9. Isn't it great?! I love the fact that 20+ years later this system lives on not just in our hearts but in reality too! Hmm, I wonder if 20+ years from now the X-Box will have this large of a following? Nah, M$ would never allow anyone to "hack" their graphics for the sake of longevity.
  10. Two words... Cart Commander http://www.arcaderestoration.com/index.asp...ATA=4394&CBT=20
  11. Diff 9 (Hardest) was my intent.
  12. Twin Galaxies will be either sponsoring or running the following at CGE this year: Atari 2600 Racing Days - Todd Rogers and I will be running an all day racing games event. The games have not yet been announced so stay tuned to Snipercade. Prizes will be given away for the top 3 finishers. ColecoVision Pentathlon - Brien King and I will be running an all day event on 5 Coleco games. The games have not yet been announced so stay tuned to Snipercade. Robotron - RetroGaming Radio and Twin Galaxies will be running a Robotron tournament at the RGR booth. This event will take place on a PC using MAME and an X-Arcade controller. This event will use the Twin Galaxies Tournament Settings for Robotron (5 men only, difficulty 5(hardest)). Prizes to include an X-Arcade controller and Digital Leisure stuff.
  13. >Are the organisers reading this forum? Yes, one of them is... >I'd like to be able to submit using VHSC (compact VHS). The tapes are much smaller and there are adapters that let you play them in a normal VCR. Posting a VHSC from Australia v's a VHS will probably save me $5. Write directly to Robert Mruczek and ask him about this. I don't think it'll be a problem, but it can't hurt to ask him ahead of time. >Or how about digitised video? Can I record to tape then record the video to my PC using a video capture device? Absolutely! >Does it matter if it's in black and white? If I load an NTSC ROM onto my Cuttle Cart I will probably only be able to record a black and white NTSC signal onto tape. (I only have about 7 of the titles as a real cart ) Nope, we don't mind if it's Colour or B/W. As long as we can see the gameplay and final time/score. >(oh, and BTW, I don't think PAL has an EP. In PAL mode my VCR only has SP and LP (2-hour and 4-hour). Only NTSC tapes go up to EP.) Our bad. Typical Americans huh?
  14. Congrats! The world's record for Yar's Game 1B is just over 15M. Game 6A (Ultimate Yar's) is one we use at Twin Galaxies for live competitions. We also limit the game to 15 mins to ensure everybody has a chance to play.
  15. That is absolutely WAY COOL!!! It is already the default bg on my work system, 5 home systems and pocket pc.
  16. Sinistar. Ick! O.K., maybe I'm confusing gameplay with graphical quality.
  17. Atari 2600 75 (16.5%) Super Nintendo (SNES) 64 (14.1%) Playstation 2 57 (12.6%) Nintendo (NES) 48 (10.6%) XBox 31 (6.8%) GameCube 22 (4.8%) Genesis 21 (4.6%) Dreamcast 20 (4.4%) Playstation 19 (4.2%) Colecovision 16 (3.5%) Sega Master System 12 (2.6%) Intellivision 10 (2.2%)
  18. Let's not forget about the Twin Galaxies Atari 2600 "Racing Days" tournament Todd Rogers and I will be running. I also have heard Shane Monroe of RetroGaming Radio will be running a Robotron tournament (with the assistance of TG). And... if all goes well, TG will be running a Coleco/Intellivision Deca at CGE with the grand prize being a complete Coleco Adam that I am donating.
  19. I have to agree with Paul, Thrust is much better.

  22. I have recently replaced the monitor in my Ms. Pac cab (with the help of Brien King). It was an adventure, but not too difficult. I would say it took about 2 hours to get it replaced (along with the parts we had to replace). I would suggest heading over to http://www.arcaderestoration.com and talk with Brien about what to expect. He's a great guy and can give you tons of tips and information.
