    Ordered a Pluscart earlier today, and a few homebrews I've been wanting for a while. Really excited to check out the Pluscart, a real nifty little gadget.

      Ordered one myself.  Be real interesting if I could set up my own "cloud" to talk to the PlusCart and make a game that grabs it's world data from the server.

    I feel so utterly disconnected from modern pop culture.  I don't really watch current TV, Movies, watch sports or listen to current music.  People are talking about the Mandalorian online and i'm just like "huh?"

    You ever notice how the vast majority of popular Sega Genesis games all had 8 stages? I wonder why that was.

      Dunno. Probably not technical reasons. Most games seem to be 2mb or 4mb. Not much bank switching. Plenty of room for more levels.

    Just a word of advice: never, NEVER just take their word for it when someone says to you "I love you so" or "You mean the world to me" or something along those lines. Especially if it's early in the relationship. You WILL be sorry if you believe that person... and it will leave you in a bad place.

      Modern systems are easier to learn. That's why I suggested it as a first step. Older does not equal easier. Pick a system that you enjoy and seek out tools to make games for it. Which old school console do you enjoy playing games on?

      Do you have a passion for a particular console or just making games? People can suggest the easiest language to start with if you tell them the particular system you want. Otherwise start with Game Maker from YoYo Games on PC. Make a game and finish it. THEN see if you want to go classic console.

    I would like to try to make retro-style games in C#(already have something going), but I'm having major writers block here.

      Maybe a trip to archive .org and playing some emulated classic games would spark some inspiration. Also, if you know C you can make actual Coleco, Genesis, 2600 and even SNES games (among others).

    Looking to play through an Ultima game - other than Akalabeth on iOS and 5-10 minutes each of Ultima III & IV, I've never played them. Reocmmendations? I'm inclined to start with an earlier one because it won't be as big a time commitment.
