Your "Pitfall" remake game would work on the 7800 nicely
You know I come from a pampered BASIC upbringing. Is there a good C compiler, toolchain, library and IDE for 7800?
A nice C dev environment plus the fact AtariAge can produce carts is real incentive to port Super Pitfall to the 7800.

Fred helped with ARM code? Does this mean Star Castle is able to sneak in a few instructions off onto the ARM or just support for a funky bank-switching/cart type?

Why not buy the DS Game Maker kit?

Isn't this kinda the sympotms of a stroke? Maybe it's time to go vegitarian + fish for awhile.

Material goods are making way for virtual goods that are LICENSED not owned by you. You're a dinosaur for caring about such things. Fortunately we're all brontosaurs and raptors here so I agree with you 100 percent!

Wow! I don't even feel the need to turn on the phosphor effect! Impressive in so may ways!

I can deal with the rings flickering but the ship in the middle really needs to not flicker. Very impressive so far!
Can't you shrink the playfield down and use that as a canvas for the rings?

Every system and game became head-over-heels for 3D - which is really only a genre. 3D forces you to be challenged not only by gameplay, but also camera angles and control issues.

Many 3D movies choose to duct-tape in 3D after production. That's the main reason why you see "view-master" style with 3D glasses. I had the same experience with the Clash of the Titans remake. Only tiny parts with CGI were true 3D and not cardboard cutouts. Try Beowulf or the new Tron film.As a side I tried a Zalman 3D LCD monitor recently. Left 4 Dead and Nintendo 64 games worked really well but calibration was a royal pain.

Don't scare me like that! I still need the RT Motivational guide and your other 'bout it 'bout it resources
Say you're on a drug induced hiatus instead.

After my cable company yanked off a couple of my fav TV stations without warning I cut it to basic with Internet (somehow it was cheaper than *just* Internet!?!). To wean myself from TV I used the XBMC software for movies and TV episodes.

Copy protection was pretty broken on the Apple II as well. If people weren't using hardware they were using advanced copying software. The only effect copy protection had was to encourage the pirate scene and hackers.

Don't mess with medicine. If you want to be a Jackass challenge yourself to a Natto eating contest and videotape it. You lose if you hurl at 12 servings. Extra credit: overcook the stuff in a microwave and eat that too!

I would repeat that sentence but:
"I am Sofa King - We. Todd. Ed."

Of course, what Sony doesn't see is the negative profits due to their former customers not buying more hardware or software. All the big names go multi-platform so I choose Dead Rising 2 for 360 instead of PS3.

Could you throw in a copy of NES ROM Maker?

I haven't had a manual since Windows 3.0. They're good stuff from what I hear. Actually, the Super Mario Brothers manual had many little tidbits I completely missed just playing the game.
I'll keep an eye out at Flea Markets for ya.

I know just enough about programming and the Colecovision to be impressed!
Procedurally generating graphics feels like cheating.. in a good way

Thanks for the tips! Er, I'll have to get me some learnin' in order to understand what a LFSR PRNG is much less a typical one. Low fidelity serial register pseudo random number generator? So much to study
The 16 bit number option sounds good. If the score can be broken down into 8 bit numbers maybe I can likewise split the results of the 16 bit random number. Trouble is I'm putting several 8 bit values into the melting pot. I can hardly cope with the score or back up it's values. 16 bit numbers and Batari are another subject to master!

Did I see Sol Feace? I have that and still haven't played it. That's on my list of fecal suggestive games including "Eliminate Down"
Hope the Melatonin works. Stuff is awesome for me on Sundays when I have to get my sleep schedule back on track.

Ah, that's right. I heard about your libraries. I can be patient. Sort of
I'll have to desecrate the Sega Genesis with a port in the meantime.
