  1. i don't know for sure how much of an effect it may have, but i try not to have auctions end in the middle of the day (for a lot of the U.S.) thinking that more people are at work, running around, ect. and not at home.

I figured with all the sniping programs people use, it doesn't really matter what time it ends. Though having said that, there was no sniping going on in this auction :ponder:

  2. Most long time eBayer always wait until the last few minutes to snipe in. Usually this results in cheaper items than if all interested buyer just put in max proxy bids and not worry. The bane of all sellers. I just wish eBay would offer an option to extend any auction by an extra few minutes for any last minute bids so those on slow dialup can try to bid more. Bad enough that Fleecebay has high FVF (often close to 10% of total sale)... :P

Oh yeah I am not worried about them going for just a buck (at least with some of them, anyway), I often play the wait-till-the-last-ten-seconds game myself :P

  3. I was checking my auctions today to see how many hits they were getting, and my jaw dropped when I looked at this one :

Nearly 2000 as of this posting, for a common recently released Xbox 360 game that's priced right around the average selling point. Now I'm paranoid that there's something unintentionally hilarious about this auction that I'm not seeing, or some bizarre keyword that's attracting all these hits! Any ideas?

BTW if you want to look at my other stuff I have some sealed uncommon 2600 games. :)

  4. (4) For the next year, I will monitor your auctions

and contact every person bidding on your auctions

personally with a canned e-mail warning them about you

as a seller ad telling them my experience.

This is auction interference and I believe that even threatening it will get him quickly booted off eBay.

Yeah I don't think ebay would take too kindly to that.

Hell, if I was in your situation, and even if I had done wrong and knowingly sent him a dud game, that response from him is just outrageous. Just mail him back and say "Make it two years, bitch". :D

  5. that's still not enough to get me to buy in and i'm not talking about the price. Give me a reason besides blu-ray to own a PS3, alot of the exclusives are moving or also being developed for the 360, which I already own, plus i'll have games like Halo3 and the Gears series to look forward too.

Yeah there is just nothing there to play. I am not a "fan boy" of consoles, I like to play games, period. I own a Wii and 360 because they have good games that I want to play. PS3's got nothing worth shelling out $500 for. Hell, even it if was $250, I'd still be struggling to see a reason to buy it. I took a look at the "big" title thats out there for the PS3, Resistance. Same old generic shooter gameplay. What do they have coming out that's going to make anyone drop their Wiimotes and throw down $500?

-And realistically, you're still going to need $600. 500 for the console, 60 for at least one game, plus sales tax for all that = $600.

  6. Wow, some asshole had the audacity to ACTUALLY bid on that item. I remember Funcoland selling those "rare" carts for $0.10 at one point.

I guess there's one born every minute. I looked at his feedback, and noticed the same guy recently bought a used SNES with no games for nearly $50

  7. Surely its the Titlematch wrestling that's the real gem in that lot, eh?

No, because it is the 2600 version. If it was for the 7800, then yes.

The silver box re-release of Hangman (1986 Atari Corp.) is quite desirable. I daresay I've seen far less of them than any other title in that lot.

    Oh I see, I didn't know there was a 2600 one actually. Luckily I have the 7800 version :)

  8. Yeah, pathetic. You don't feel like listing...that's ok, I don't feel like bidding :P

My guess, he found this at a garage sale this morning for five bucks, thought "THAT'S ONE O' THEM ATAREES, AH HEARD THEY SELLS FER HUNNERDS ON THUH INNERNET!", and assumed everyone would be clamoring for his ultra rare item.

  9. And that's some prize winning photography too! Not sure I understand his logic though, he claims the games are "super rare", and then posts the rarity guide so you can check how rare they are...and discover they are all common. :rolling:

I wouldn't be surprised if he's a scammer. Selling a large quantity of cellphones (stock photos only), seems a bit suspicious. :ponder:
