Rev. Rob replied to vaf5136's topic in Atari Jaguar
Yes I do as a matter of fact. I still think its awful...never actually played a RCA Studio II to be able to agree...so until I do.....Chan F. There is nothing awful about the Channel F: http://www.revrob.com/content/view/66/52/ -
The sticker on the bottom of mine is partially torn off. Here are the letters and numbers that I can read: T 01274

The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!
Rev. Rob replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The Gizmondo? I never heard of this handheld device. Any well known documents on it? New on the market? Anthony.... LOL! I don't even know what to tell you. The story is just so good. It's mentioned in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhPQt_cIno4 -
Very awesome, indeed. I am missing the 1973 games and the case so far.

Finally acknowledged! The Jaguar worst of all consoles!
Rev. Rob replied to vaf5136's topic in Atari Jaguar
Umm... Every owned one? The Fairchild Channel F is an amazing console. It, it's controllers, and a few of its games were way ahead of their time. To the poster who said that the RCA Studio II is the worst console ever, well... it is and by a long shot. It's so bad that you have to punch complicated numeric codes in to play the games. They knew it was bad, so they printed the codes on the carts! It introduced Game Switch/Power Supply combo that Atari copied with the original 5200 model. It's so slow that I can play its version of "Tennis" (read: Pong) against myself and never miss. It's so glitchy that sometimes when playing the aforementioned game, the ball will pass right through the paddle. The controller is like if the Jaguar controller only hand the number pad, and if the numbers were only on the unit. Yuck, what a piece of crap. Glad I own one! -

Anyone know how to print screen overlays?
-
Override! This game is great, and is most likely the basis for Atari Pong. For that reason alone, it should get a better score. Moreover, I live the incorporation of "English." It's way more interesting that just waiting for the ball to bounce. The only downside, in my mind, is that the "reset" button is the "cheat" button, if you know what I mean.

Before you vote, I don't mean Odyssey^2 or Odyssey "pong" systems. I mean the original Magnavox Odyssey. I am just trying to get a feel for how many collectors there are out there.

Of course. What makes them art is a combination of several factors. The design, i.e. tradition art, that goes into each game. I always find this to be such a silly debate because no one ever denies that drawings and paintings are are. Then you have the writing that goes into the game. Dialog, plot, et cetera. Finally, there is direction and the musical score, again, since when is music not art? All of which are art. The argument that video games are not an artform is self-defeating.

If you like RPGs and Nintendo franchises, then SNES wins hands down.

The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!
Rev. Rob replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Hi Guys: I never saw that system before. What is it? Anthony... It's an Apple Pippin. Apple was on the verge of releasing it in the mid-90's, but pulled it at the last minute. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Pippin It was released in the US only at Radio Shack and sold $15,000 units before being pulled. Anyhow, it may be the greatest failure ever, but it's nice looking. -

Here's your winner: What can beat that? It's the View-Master InteractiveVision, folks. -
Retro Ign did a feature profile on Nolan Bushnell today
Rev. Rob replied to 8th lutz's topic in Classic Console Discussion
...And it fucking blowz, just like IGN! Seriously, what an awful article, full of falsehoods. "After Sente, Bushnell was not directly involved with the videogame industry..." Give me a break. -
Heh. The review of this game is halfway through the video: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/18302&a...02&type=mov Here's a real list: Warsong Toe Jam & Earl Phantasy Star IV Shining in the Darkness Battle Squadron Beyond Oasis Blaster Master 2 Captain America and the Avengers Comix Zone Dune: The Battle for Arrakis Dynamite Headdy Forgotten Worlds Ghouls 'N Ghosts Golden Axe Haunting: Starring Polterguy Landstalker Mortal Kombat 3 Mortal Kombat II Mutant League Football Mystic Defender Populous Rings of Power Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi Shadowrun Shining Force Shining Force II Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master Skitchin' Sonic & Knuckles Sonic Spinball Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Space Harrier II Spider-Man Starflight Sword of Vermillion Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist The Lost Vikings The Revenge of Shinobi Ultimate Qix Uncharted Waters Urban Strike: The Sequel to Jungle Strike Vectorman

LOL! Lupin the Third?

Thanks. I shall seek them out. Any idea on costs? Thanks. I found that thread here. The only problem is that the boxes for the console I am making my game for are longer than a standard sheet of paper.

Are You Developing A New Homebrew Game?
Rev. Rob replied to fdurso224's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Yes. I'll keep you in mind when I finish my project up later this year. -
The biggest (and funniest) is that even though the game features the Chargers and the Raiders, the online status that shows who has the ball will occassionally read Cowboys or Redskins. I'm guessing they were working on that one next or something. There's also a LOT of repeated plays, but I think that's more a function of the way the game is designed rather than an actual bug. As for Thayer's, I've never actually played it long enough to get to the 'end', but it does have video footage on the flipside so it appears that it will continue. I'm going to try to come up with a way to capture the video out and post it somewhere. I saw your request in the other post and a few others have asked for the same. I've just never been quite sure how to do it. I had posted some info on this when I first got a hold of it, but it's over on DP. I'll post a link, but if that's frowned upon feel free to edit it out or let me know it's not ok and I will remove the link. Halcyon Info I hate you for owning one of these! That said, can you please send me some scans/images of the game boxes, please?

Hey guys. Let's say I want to release a new homebrew, and I need to get a box printed up and maybe even a screen overlay. Where do I go? Thanks!

star fighter and sega genesis 3 w/box
Rev. Rob replied to classicgamer24's topic in Classic Console Discussion
$10 for a Genesis 3 is a good deal. -
Winning bid: US $3,422.76 Well, that's one console that it looks like I will never own.

So, I am new to any type of autocad software. I have a design ready to go for the PCB of the homebrew game that I am working on, but before I sent it off to fabtication, I want to see if there's anyone here who can take a look at it and make sure that I have it right. Any help would be great. Feel free to PM me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Halcyon-Interactive-Di...1QQcmdZViewItem I think it's giving the AdventureVision a run for the title of most expensive rare game console.
