I wish for some in depth news on the next generation Nokia N-Gage.

People want different. No, people do want Halo 3, Final Fantasy XIII, and Grand heft Auto IV. What you already see, and will continue to see, is that even as Wii's install base grows, they will never reach the level of software sales as Xbox 360. Not even Mario will come close to the sales that Halo 3 or GTA 4 will earn.
And no, fliping your wirst around whole your ass in on the couch vs. using a controller isn't innovative or more fun. Pong is still just Pong, no matter how Nintendo repackages it.
However, that is hardly an argument for people NOT wanting other varieties in game titles as well.
There is hardly an argument for it? The game industry has spent, what I can only imagine is in the millions, a lot of money funding studies which show that yes, people want to buy sequels.
The sad fact is that is very difficult for a franchise to become established or for a game, no matter how amazing, to sell when it is unique and an unknown brand.
This is proven, studied, and documented. The biggest example of this is Deus Ex and Ion Storm's demise. Another is Ubisoft's Beyond Good and Evil. There are, of course, countless others.

Why are the Jaguar and 32X on there? They aren't that bad.Yes, they ARE that bad. Especially the 32X. Did you know that the Sega Saturn was planned to be backward compatible with the Sega Genesis? Sega decided not to do this because they were afraid it would bite into sales of the 32X...
Man, some people are willing to believe anything.
Just what is THAT supposed to mean?
It means that you have no idea what you're talking about.
The Saturn uses a 68000 processor similar to the one used in the Genesis. It's got a cartridge slot. Why is it so hard to believe that the system could have been backward compatible with the Genesis? What on earth are you talking about? The Saturn did not use a Motorola 68000 CPU. You must be thinking of Jaguar, which did. Saturn did use a Motorola 68EC000 as a sound controller but not as the central processor.
Besides, everyone knows that Saturn used two Hitachi SuperH-2 7604 32-Bit RISC processors for the CPU. (Duh!) If Atari had released it, they'd probably 'do the math' and call Saturn 64-bit, heh!
Don't you remember Sega's "Play Thing" anti-Playstation commercials where they bragged that two 32-bit processors are better than one?
You have clearly never ever played a Sega Saturn before.
Believe what you want, but I think it's clear that Sega hosed its customers numerous times with consoles they chose not to support and add-ons that nobody wanted. History will back me up on this one. A Saturn that could play Genesis games is not so far-fetched, given the hardware similarities and the fact that the Saturn is the only console from that generation with a cartridge slot.Uhh... Nintendo 64?
History leaves you to the dogs, sir. The Saturn's cart slot was never intended to play games. It's so completely different from the Genesis/32X that anyone suggesting that it was supposed to be used to play 16 and 32-bit games is very, very funny.
It was really just an expansion slot, used for a memory cartridge, the Net Link modem, ram expansion, and Game Shark. As another post mentioned, the initial claim is made to be even funnier when N64 was a cart based console, and both the N64 and Playstation had expansion slots.
The reasons why Sega didn't offer this functionality should be obvious to anyone who's familiar with the company and its treasonous approach to customer service. It's obvious to anyone who is remotely familiar with the console that Saturn was never supposed to be backwards compatible when anything and that the expansion slot was never intended for playings games, espeicially when you consider that SEGA said as much themselves when they initially unveiled the console.

Released: May 2, 1995
Platform: 32X
Publisher: SEGA
Developer: SEGA
Genre: Action
ESRB:

Over twelve years ago, one of the 32X launch games that I fell for as a kid was Metal Head. It’s a 3D Mech game that features both polygons and sprites to comprise the 3D world in which it’s set. My local Blockbuster kept only one rack of 32X games on the shelf, and this was one of them. I remember renting it numerous times and playing at my house and with friends. Everyone always enjoyed it.
As a teenager, I found a lose copy of the game for less than a dollar in a local pawn show. Later on, I bought a complete and sealed copy off of eBay for only a little more.
It seems that Metal Head has a really bad rep. Every online review that I have ever read trashes the game, and I don’t feel that it deserves it.
The graphics are texture mapped polygons and are impressive. A big complaint is the draw distance, but this is an issue with any 3D console game in 1995. This issue is also resolved with the existence of a detailed map in the corner of the screen.
Every review says the game is too s-l-o-w. Well, it is a Mech game; what do you expect? However, simply using the run button allows your mech to speed at along at the pace of an average First Person Shooter.
Truth be told, Metal Head is a mech game that is designed for the casual gamer. Its missions have clear objectives and steadily increase in difficulty. The mech is customizable, but not too customizable. It can be easily equipped with a player’s weapons of choice and refitted after every mission. It’s not so in-depth that most gamers would be lost in a world of unwanted micromanagement.
Metal Head is also fun. The application of skill and wit can overcome any situation faced in the game, which is a relief, because with many games in the genre who has the better gun is the only factor that determines life or death.
Unlike many more modern mech games, control is precise and accurate, thanks to the FPS style control scheme that has been proven in games such as Duke Nukem 3D. Finally, the soundtrack is nothing that I am about to jam to in my car, but the energetic music certainly helps to fuel the atmosphere and drive the action and intensity.
So, here we have a game that is fun, with good graphics, excellent controls, a decent sound track, and a learning curve that is appropriate for gamers of all types who come from all backgrounds.
What I see here is a great app that undeservingly got a bad rap. Next time you fire up your 32X, give Metal Head another chance. Play through the game. You won’t be sorry that you did. Don’t own it? Not a problem. Metal Head is an extremely common 32X game and can be found new and sealed on eBay for less than five bucks. Go on, what are you waiting for?

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/27/japanese...ny-to-nintendo/The biggest third parties in Japan are throwing their support behind Nintendo in a big way. Nacmo/Bandai, Sega and Capcom are all increasing both the number of distinct titles and the number of units ordered for games on Nintendo systems, according to research done by the Nikkei newspaper and reported by Variety Asia. Namco Bandai alone is planning a ridiculous 115 games for the DS and Wii in fiscal 2007, a 109 percent increase. Sony, meanwhile, can expect a 30 to 40 percent decline in shipment orders from the big three, according to the report.
I think that the far bigger and much more important story is that these companies are throwing their major releases onto Xbox 360.

eBay sniping is never a good strategy. Just bid your max bid and you'll likely not be outbid if it's reasonable. Afterall, we are talking about exremely common games here.

Panzer Dragoon Saga
I am always skeptical going into an RPG, and though the Panzer shooters are good, they're not amazingly good, so I was blown away when I bought this game. It is by far the best game ever made.

Well No one would unless hate the Company that makes the Xbox Line as a Whole.WTF? What language is this dude speaking and what does this have to do with Studio II?

I've got the strangest:
View-Master, maker of these things:

Made their own video game console in 1987, and it looks like this:

And it plays games that are on VHS, like this:

Looked like Advance Wars, but it's got too many menus and stuff before an actual GAME starts.
What do ya expect? It's Koei in their pre-Dynasty Warriors years.

Lets face it: your prophecies are short sighted. There is not anything decided yet until Xmas.We shall see...
If I were you, I wouldn't bet money on the PS3 picking up...The race will end in this order
Wii
360
Ps3
Get used to it Agradeneu.
Nope. Wii is going to peak out next year as game developers focus more on the cinematic and and expansive games that take full advantage of the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Wii is on a sales burst right now, which is attributed to its moderately low cost, freshness, and its appeal to "non-gamers."
Unfortunately, those three factors is exactally what will bury it.
There hasn't been a unique game for it since it launched. The same mini-games in a different package is not innovation; it's boring.
If I wanted to do the same thing over and over again I would bust out Pong. Pong isn't better if I move my wrist to control it or if I turn a knob, and it certianly is not better with Gamecube quality graphics. It's still Pong, and sadly, most Wii games are clever Pong clones.
The blockbuster games can never see full versions on the Wii due to its hardware limitations. When GTA4 breaks entertainment records when it launches, Nintendo should take note. The development costs may be higher, but there is a lot more money to be made on 360 and PS3, even if the Wii's install base outshines then both.
A low percent of Wii owners are gamers. Many are distinctively non-gamers. Most Wii owners who I know are women who play the mini games for five minutes and then put it away, only to take it out at parties, and with no intentions to ever buy another game for it again.
Wii is limited by its appeal to gamers and developers, its limited by its hardware, and it's limited by its controller. Let's face it, jerking your wrist around is only fun for so long.

"Communication is performed with a high speed 64-bit data bus, ratedat 2400 megabits/second. The 68000 is only able to access 16 bits
of this bus at a time."
Doesn't that make the Jag only 16 bit?
If the 68k was the CPU of the system, you MIGHT be able to make that claim.
It's not. It's a boot strap and manager. It's not supposed to be used after boot up.
This is why most JAguar games suck....they dont tap the real power.
Ya, which is why most Jaguar games are 16-bit games.
-
Ignored by the Atari Times. left out of Intellivision Lives, and never remade...Since it's the best version of a popular game, why do you think that is?

If we are to believe Wikipedia, then yes, they are one in the same.CBS entered the video game market briefly, through its acquisition of Gabriel Toys, publishing several arcade adaptations and original titles for the Atari 2600 and other consoles and computers. CBS later sold Gabriel Toys to View-Master.
And then View-Master release the InteractiveVision, a VHS based console that need a VCR to work:

STORYThe European Wars against Spain and France have been costly to the British Empire. In order to gain additional funds for the war effort, the Crown raise taxes from the New World colonies without representation. This act compels the New World colonies to protest and boycott against British rule. By 1775, the Crown alarmed by the protests, boycotts and politically instability in the New World sends troops to subdue any rebellious efforts by the New World colonists. This threatening approach provokes the Thirteen Colonies to revolt. Thus starts the War for Independence in the New World (American Revolutionary War).
GAMEPLAY
Choosing Sides
In Liberty or Death, you partake in the American Revolutionary War, either as the "rebels" - the American Continental Army or as the "Crown" - the British Royal Army.
Choosing either one of the nations will prompt you to choose the leading Commander-in-Chief:
The Continental Army: Charles Lee, Artemas Ward or George Washington.
The British Royal Army: Henry Clinton, Thomas Gage or William Howe.
Revolutionary Politics
Each turn you will have to balance your treasury for the war effort. Money is provided by each state. The more states that support your cause, the more money will flow in your coffers. Money is spent in paying wages, strengthening the fleet and recruiting new regiments.
Here, if you have a sufficient fleet, you can also command your Navy officer to "control the seas" which is conducting a blockade and privateering against enemy ships. This may result in seized goods that will be added to your treasury.
The American Revolutionary War in Liberty or Death included everyone except the American Indians: [1] Revolutionary Militia: American supporters but not yet fully supportive of Continental Army (not under your full control) [2] Loyalist Militia: Militia supportive to the Crown [3] French Army: The French will support the American cause after a formal alliance is held. [4] Spanish Army: The Spaniards will support the American cause after a formal alliance is held.
Revolutionary Combat
The Top-down turned based combat introduces units available in the Revolutionary War: Infantry, Guerrilla, Cavalry and Artillery (Engineers). Combat near shores may also be joined by Naval units: Fleet and Fires Ships.

Ya, DP has been fading fast over the past two years. Not only is it down like 25% of the time, but since Joe has all but quit the website, the Nazi mods there are out of control. It's the most unplesant forum on the web anymore, which is too bad, because there's a lot of awesome people there. After it got bad I used to only go there for eBay stuff and buy/sell/trade, but since there are so few active posters there now it's not even worth it for that.
Honestly, I don't think the point when DP just doesn't come back online is that far in the future.
Wow, you're like a disgruntled ex-girlfriend. Was there a need to post this ridiculous nonsense twice in two threads? You seemed to like DP fine before you were banned for making comments about mods and THEIR PARENTS.
Now the poor folks at AA have to deal with your misplaced authority issues as well as Fighter 17's.
That crazy mod edited that post himself, and I complained and an admin fixed it.
I was banned for posting this.

Oh, and some Master System and 32X cases wouldn't be bad, either. On a related subject, does anyone know a site that has scans of the paper inserts? It'd be cool if they had them correctly sized and you could just print 'em out.
genesiscollective.com has the largest collection.

I got all that for $27...howd I do?Pretty damn good, I'd say!

I'll never forget Spetember 9th, 1999. I was a senior in high school. My favorite game company was about to release their new game console after haing been absecent in the US market for over a year.
I had preordered it at Babbage's, along with a VMU, Soul Calibur, and Sonic Adventure. Of course, the console I am talking about is the amazing SEGA Dreamcast.
That morning, like all mornings, I called my girlfriend up and told her that I am on my way. I walked to her house and totally got dumped, the first and only time that's every happened to me. I was pretty pissed, so I skipped school and went to the mall.
I got my Dreamcast and it was pure bliss and happiness.
The only other console that I bought at launch was the Xbox. This was a midnight launch. At this time, I worked at the same Babbage's where I purchased the aforementioned Dreamcast. Having played Halo at E3 that year, (and all day at work because we had a promotional copy), I was totally stoked.
It was a midnight launch and I wasn't working it. I picked up my buddy and we drove to the mall in my 64 1/2 Mustang with the windows down and the system blasing Soil's song "Halo."
I played it that night straight through on Normal and then the next day on Legendary.
That game still rocks.

Jaguar vs. 32X?
in Atari Jaguar

How am I twisting your words? You're wrong, and I proved it.
