  1. There are tons of inexpensive games for Saturn that are great. Allow me to name a few... NiGHTS Into Dreams... Astal Fighters Megamix Panzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei Shinobi Legions D Enemy Zero Burning Rangers Dark Savior Scud Dead or Alive Last Bronx Die Hard Arcade Daytona USA Sega Rally Championship The Legend of Oasis Lost Vikings 2 Virtua Cop 2 Then, when you want to spend some money, you can pick up the amazing gems (all of which are expensive). If you have any questions about any games, or games that might fit your tastes, let me know.
  2. Explain your history of game collecting and interest in Odyssey.
  3. Check it out over at the Sega Age forums: http://www.segaage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=43&threadid=44366
  4. I couldn't imagine modding such an expensive console.
  5. I've found games at antique stores, never consoles. But the prices are all jacked up worse than eBay. $30 for Sonic 1? I'll pass, thanks. I think someone here got a LaserActive for like $30 at an antique store a few years ago.
  6. After doing some research, I officially give up that collection goal.
  7. Here's a pic of the game board with game pieces.
  8. I am removing one of the modes of vs. play due to screen overlay limitations. The game is now 95% complete. The only hold up is finding an artist to do the box art. I also picked the boxes. The game board is 18"x18". This is a strategy game, hence the code name.
  9. I printed the gameboard today. It's really nice. It's a little expensive, but I think worth ti. It's on 18"x18" vinyl. I need to figure out what I am going to do for a box. Suggestions would be helpful. Also, today I bought the game pieces.

  11. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 110621598268 Anyone?
  12. Well, that website is crap. I paid almost $10 for a crappy board that was printed on poster board. I could've done that. And I don't think it would be right to have $10 of the expense of the game be such an inferior product. I'll be sure to post a pic when I get a chance. I am going to print the boards on fabric. (Anyone have a good resource for this?) This way they can be rolled up to fit into the box. Who says a board game needs to be on a board? There are now five modes of play. Two are vs. using the Odyssey, one is solo using the Odyssey, one is vs. without the Odyssey, and one is solo without the Odyssey. And that's going to be it. The game will use Game Card #5. That will save significantly on cost. After I get a suitable board printed, the bulk of the game is done. I already know what pieces I want to use, and how to make the boxes. All that will be left is to find an artist to do the box art. (Any volunteers?)
  13. That would be me ... a lefty. But I don't completely agree with your statement. I grew up playing games and using computers in a right handed world. Therefore, I can just as easily control a joystick with my right hand as my left. So have I. I find that directional controls aren't as intuitive unless they're on the left side. I've even tried out "left handed controllers" before, and it just doesn't feel natural. With flight sims, on the other hand, for me it's a different story. I need to use my left hand to control the thing. Otherwise it's a disaster.
  14. It's news to me. I've played my Genesis games through the 32X for 16+ years now. It hasn't ruined a cart yet. George
  15. It's actually pretty watchable. I've seen ever episode because I have a six year old.
  16. I traded a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, which I purchased for $55, which is my favorite game of all time, for a copy of Phantasy Star IV, which I didn't even like. I felt that I would never want to play through PDS a second time. I later repurchased it for $180 on eBay.
  17. And, of course, Dick ended up with it.
  18. "what is your problem? So what is eating you?" TALKING LIKE THIS IS TOTALLY APPROPRIATE! What, are you some kind of a digger? How can you call yourself a Bonk?!? lol
  19. And for reference here's a much older one with parts missing that Dick is selling for $630: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 370435684480
  20. Here's what appears to be a a complete Run 1 Odyssey with a BIN of $175. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180608598673 If anyone is looking for an Odyssey, now's your chance.
  21. We're all talking about Odyssey and people who try to control niche markets. The impact it has on collectors for whom owning an Odyssey is a major collecting goal is huge. It's interesting that you don't care if the hobby is negatively impacted for many; but you do care when consumers who are members of the market, like Coleco Gemini, express their disdain for the practice. That was my point. $30k is the market value of Air Raid. But the market value of an Odyssey is 4 to 10 times less than what Douchey McCoy sells them for.
  22. No one is question the douchebag's right to sell something for whatever he wants. It's a question of morality. Is greed moral? No. Will it pay off? You've already answered this one. You're insane if you think it doesn't keep people from the hobby. At least a dozen people contacted me when I made Odball for help to find an Odyssey, and none of them were able to because eBay is the only accessible way to purchase one, and one guy snatches systems up for a little more than market value, then sits on them and tries to sell them for 4 to 10 times their market value. Ya... no one's being kept from hobby alright.
