All, I'm looking to buy a 7800 and I did some reading in the 7800 FAQ about the various models. What are the best questions to ask a potential eBay seller to make sure they're selling one of the earlier fully 2600 compatible 7800s versus one of the later models? Obviously whether or not it actually has the side expansion port is one question. Is it possible to tell from the outside what year the console was manufactured, since the 1984 models seem to be the most compatible? Thanks in advance, rwilloug

All, I want to add a 2600 compatible system to my collection. I've never owned an Atari, so I'm looking for recommendations on what variation of the 2600 to choose or if I should go with a 7800 instead. I like the idea of a six switch 2600, but my understanding is that only a few games make a six switcher beneficial to have anyway. From a purely aesthetic perspective, I think the 2600 Jr. and 7800 look sharper than the older models, though if I had to pick an older one just based on looks, I think I'd go with the Darth Vader model. Then of course, is the question of whether the 7800 specific games are worth having on top of the 2600 games. What do people think? Are there other issues I haven't considered? Any advice people can offer would be appreciated. Thanks rwilloug
