There are a few games in there that I don't normally see for sale. Overall it comes to $4.40 per cart not counting the cassettes so the price isn't that outragous. shopgoodwill prices overall do have a tendency to be high for some reason though.

Roughly how much is your video game collection worth?
glitch replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I picked the 10-20k range since that is about what I have paid for it. Back when I was keeping track I was approching 10k and I've gotten quite a bit more since then. If I was to sell it on ebay in one lump it would probably come in under 10k but broken up, I think it would be a bit above. Of course I've also bought a few systems for more than their ebay worth (4 TI 99/4a's @ approximatly $15ea) and a few of the systems have gone down in price (Vectrex) since I purchased them but a few more have gone up. Is this through your home insurance? I currently have Nationwide and since the games & systems are considered obsolete equipment they wouldn't allow me to add any extra coverage for them. -
What happens to the Ataris after we die.
glitch replied to A_Username's topic in Classic Console Discussion
We were talking about this a few months ago, namely regarding the decreasing value of Bally Astrocades and 2600s. What we figured would happen is that the number of people collecting these systems would probably go down and the value would also go down. We thought the 2600 will probably stay around due to it's history but more obscure systems such as the Astrocade, Odyssey, or Channel F would mostly fade into oblivion since their primary value is to those that used them. Once the people who collected them for nostalgic reasons are gone few others would have a reason to pick them up. I assume the same will probably happen to the later Atari systems such as the Jag or 5200. Each future generation will probably have their own nostalgic systems that they will pick up when they get older (for my kids generation it will probably be playstations, xboxes, and wiis) with only the hard core collectors going earlier (similar to now). -
Yea, that's the tattoo I got when I turned 40. Actually it's the image I had my tattoo made from. If you look closely it spells glitch which has been my online persona since the early 90s.

Lik-Sang Out of Business -- Closes Doors due to Sony
glitch replied to Albert's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Lik-Sang shut down for a brief while a year or two back due to lawsuits from Nintendo. Once those were worked out they did come back but w/ a slightly different product line. -
It appears to me that the games are included. I don't see anywhere where it states just the boxes. As a matter of fact I don't see where it even implies the boxes are included. It may just be the games. If the 3 games are included it could be worth the opening $80 since these regularly sell for at least $30 each. I just thought the boxes were a nice touch although a VHS size box for a Lynx games seems like a bit of overkill to me. Now beta boxes on the other hand....
-
Someone made some very nice looking boxes for the diagnostic cart, raiden, and AvP. It looks like they're made from VHS cases though which would mean that they're pretty big. "3 rare games"

Sry about that. I'm not sure how I beat you by 33 cents since your bid was in first and the bid increment should have been at least 50 cents. I saw your name on the bidders list once it was over and thought it might be you. I always feel bad when I beat out a fellow AAer.

Are there any systems in your collection for which you have no games?
glitch replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I don't have any consoles w/o games but I do have 2 TRS Color Computer 2s, a Mac Plus, 2 TRS-80 Model 100s , and a Sharp Pocket Computer that I have no software for, except for hand entered programs (in the case of the Model 100s & pocket computer). Like others here I have an Atari Jaguar w/ Tempest 2000 & AvP but no hook ups or controllers, so I cannot even test to see if it works -
Most of my consoles were pre-owned. The few originals that i have are Consoles Bally Arcade (astrocade) PS2 GameCube Portables GBA x3 GB GBC NeoGeo Pocket Computers Atari 800 Atari 520st Ones that I bought new but no longer have the original but have replaced w/ other pre-owned units. Sega Genesis model 1 XBox SNES N64

Are there any games in your collection for systems you don't own?
glitch replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I'm not sure of the defiinition of "lots" but I know I have the following orphened games: at least 15 Odyssey II games - still not sure if I actually want an Odyssey II though 6 or so Apple II games 3 TRS80 Model 1 games 2 Intellivision games 1 or 2 Colecovision games 6 Coleco Adam game tapes and I'm sure there are a handfull of random games that I'm not thinking about at the moment. Systems that I had games for before getting the system: TurboGrafx 7800 C64 Jaguar (I have a system but no hook ups or controlers and I'm not sure it works, so this might be able to be put in the above catagory) Atari XE (although I've always had an 800 but I picked up a few games it could not play) All of these games I've found in the wild. Mostly I pick them up when I see a really good deal. In some cases I hope to eventually get a matching system but in a lot of cases they are primarily trade bait. Sometimes I just get caught up in the "hunting" that I don't really think about whether or not I actually want the games or system. When I realized this is when I figure I crossed the line between playing & collecting. Although I have managed to pass up a few large 5200 game lots and quite a few Colecovision games. Edit: forgot the Coleco Adam -
Hmmm tough choice but here is my list. These are the games I grab when I need a quick fix. 1. Warbirds 2. Awesome Golf 3. Lemmings 4. Xenophobe 5. Rygar 6. Todd's Adventures in Slime World 7. Rampart 8. Battlezone 2000 9. Klax 10. Robotron 2084 Alpine games looks good but since I don't have it..... Edit: Forgot Rampart which now bumps Qix off the list

As far as I know all games will run on all three of the models. The ST requires a monitor the STF can be hooked to a TV but you'd be better off w/ a monitor. The STE is expandable.

Thanks. Have you ordered from them before? I don't see any mention of a minimum order and the I find the fact that their minimum shipping & handling is less than $15.00 encouraging. I'm going to submit a request for a quote for those and a few other parts I need and see if they're willing to work w/ me. Most of the surplus sites I've contacted won't work w/ hobbyists and require a minmum orders that start at hundreds of pieces or $300.00 or more.

Sounds like a good subject for a new contest.

I originally posted this in the marketplace.wanted forum but thought I might have more luck here. I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to order older/obsolete IC chips from. Specifically I'm looking for a few INS8154n ICs from National Semiconductiors. It's a N-Channel 128x8 bit RAM Input/Output controller. They were used in Acorn 1 computers in the UK and a few other devices in the states. It looks like production may have halted in the early 80s. I scanned through the forum and checked a majority of the sites that have been mentioned in the past and findchips.com did find 2 at americaii.com. Has anybody ordered from them before or know if they have a minimum order policy. I'm also looking for around 10 of them and I'd prefer to order them all from one place so I'm still looking for possible sites.

I've slowed down quite a bit. Currently I have 104 total but only 81 unique titles. The ones I'm currently need to get (although not actively looking, like I said I slowed down ) are: Retail Super Off-Road Raiden Ninja Gaiden III Krazy Ace Minature Golf (why I'm not sure ) Hyperdrome Dinolympics Blue Lightning demo Homebrew/Proto Driving School Theory Test (again not sure why) TNT Terry (I'll probably never see this one ) Remnant; Plana Wars 3-D Puzzler 2000 (was this released on cart?) Lynx Reloaded LGSS Road Riot 4WD Marlboro Go Lynx Diagnostic Loopz Eye of the Beholder (I'll probably never see this one ) Daemonsgate Cybervirus (Cinciclassic edition, I have 2 of the final) Crystal Mines II: Buried Treasure (I have the CD but not the cart version) Aliens vs Preditor Pokermania Alpine Games oh, and anything else that comes out or is found

Even though it's close I'd have to say Adventure will win since it already beat Ballblazer (IMHO on a better system) once in this poll.

Nah, you'd just have to clean or get a new 72pin connector to get rid of the blinking

What game won you over to a handheld/console
glitch replied to Shannon's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Mostly I look for more than a few games I like before I buy a system but the following were the ones that finally won me over: Atari 2600 - Adventure, Kaboom Atari Lynx - Warbirds, Roadblasters, Rygar Sega Dreamcast - Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Soul Calibur TG16 - Military Madness, Splatterhouse (just for the hype ) Gameboy - Tetris (way back in the day) SNES - Super Mario World Most of the other systems I have was due to either price or the libray as a whole. Opps, forgot the Gamecube which I bought because of the Resident Evil exclusive (which isn't any more ) -
I have to agree, get the adapter the TI joysticks are not that pleasant to use and seem fairly flimsy although I haven't broken a set yet. The TI joysticks combine 2 sticks into 1 plug. I've seen both 1 joystick adapters & Y cable adapters.

I replied to your marketplace post also but thought you might look here first. If you're looking for an online seller I'd have to recommend Tex*In Treasures They have new PSUs for 6.95 and just about any other part you might need. EDIT: darn cut & paste. here's the actual link: Tex*In Treasures
