  1. I orginally suggested Xenophobe because I absolutely love this game but selected Klax because that's where my mind is at currently. My favorite Lynx game is one of those that changes every few weeks
  2. Thanks, I remember them now. I just never played Llamatron. Cute game
  3. I've never played Llamatron and didn't know there was a series of Llama games. What type of game is it? I assume, since it's on this list, that it's worth looking for.
  4. This is one of those questions that will probably run the whole gambit of systems released. Everyone has a different favorite. I'd have to pick the Atari Lynx. IMHO it wasn't surpassed until the GBA came out. Closely followed by the Sega Nomad (whoo hoo a portable genny ) Then the GBC just for the extensive library
  5. The first Bally that I ever bought was from a Montgomery Wards. It was the white version but it didn't work. I had to settle for the less rare version when I was a kid. The one that I am selling does work. It says Montgomery Wards right on the dust cover. Cool, I wasn't sure. My first one was from Montgomery Wards, it was the only place selling them around here at the time, but it was the normal wood grain. I was just wondering since I thought the white ones weren't made until astrovision took over and I didn't know that MW was still selling them then (ours closed before that )
  6. A lot if nice stuff. I'm going to try to grab a few. I didn't think that Montgomery Wards was carrying the Bally anymore when the white ones were released.
  7. Very tempting but I'm afraid I'd also be moving right after buying it when my wife found out Sweet collection.
  8. I'm really suprised that M.U.L.E. isn't higher. It and Archon are the 2 games that keep the Atari 800 on my desk at all times. Likewise I'm suprised by the showing that Donkey Kong has, especially since it's available on so many other platforms.
  9. I recently sold a bunch of my extra consoles at CinciClassic otherwise the numbers would have been skewed towards the Atari 2600 but the Genny wins now w/ 7 (if I count the X-Exe & CDX) 5 Sega Genesis - 2 Model 1s, 2 Model 2s, 1 Model 3 5 SegaCD - 1 Model 1, 2 Model 2, 1 X-Eye, 1 CDX 2 Sega Saturn 2 Sega Dreamcast - white (I want to get a black sports model) 2 Sega Master systems - 1 w/ built in games, 1 w/o 4 Sega GameGear - 3 Black, 1 Blue 3 Bally Astrocades - 1 Bally Computer System (dead ), 1 Bally Arcade, 1 white Arcade 5 Atari 8bit - 3 800s, 1 400, 1 XEGS 3 Atari 2600 - 1 Heavy Sixer, 1 4 switch, 1 Vader 5 Atari Lynx - 3 Model 1s, 2 Model 2s 3 TI 99/4a - 2 black & silver, 1 biege 2 NES - toasters 3 SNES - Model 1s 3 N64 - 2 black, 1 blue 3 Gameboy - 2 grey bricks, 1 clear blue color gameboy 4 Gameboy Advance - 1 purple, 1 platinum, 1 white, 1 black SP (I want to get a micro) 3 PS1 - 2 w/ parallel ports, 1 w/o 3 PS2 - all large 3 3DO - 1 Panasonic FZ-1, 1 Panasonic FZ-10, 1 Goldstar (Still looking for a Sanyo) 2 TRS Coco 2 (why? 10. Anything I can find but seriously the ones I actively collect for are: 3DO Vectrex Sega Genesis Sega Gamegear Sega Master System Nintendo NES Super Nintendo Turbo Grafx <-- Recent addition only 12 games so far Bally Astrocade Ones that I have a nice collection for but don't really go out of my way to increase: Playstation Dreamcast Saturn Gameboy N64 Newer systems that I'm not really collecting for but still buying games for: Gamecube PS2 Xbox Gameboy Advance I have more systems but the ones listed above are really the only ones that I look for games and hardware for. Anymore I pretty much only get what I can find in the wild. I haven't bought anything online or from a store in quite a while.
  11. Wow, what a great idea. I've paid for chances at less. If the ticket price is $10 or under I'd buy at least 1.
  12. Not too sure how well this will work but here are my picks (I picked dunno). Maybe we should limit this to just Atari released games because when you get into the computer lines the sheer number of 3rd party games is tremendous. Atari Dedicated Systems: Pong (unless touch-me counts) Atari 2600: Adventure Atari 8-Bit: M.U.L.E. Atari 5200: Ballblazer Atari ST: Sundog Atari 7800: Tower toppler Atari Lynx: Xenophobe (this changes weekly though, to many good choices) Atari Jaguar: ?? **edited to remove tie
  13. Richard H is in the UK so I imagine that's where everything would be shipped from. They've been around quite awhile w/ very few complaints (although their site seems to be down right now ). I don't think you have too much to worry about.
  14. The middle of the road stuff is also hardest to find because it is usually mixed in w/ the commons. I had mostly commons but quite a few mid-range (4-6) games thrown in but they were mixed in w/ my commons which is what I saw at quite a few of the tables. It was probably a 5-1 (maybe 6/7-1) ratio though and w/ over 500 games there, they didn't really stand out, although a lot of them sold. The "ultra rare" you set aside and show off, thereby bringing a lot more attention to it even though there may be less of it. If I had to take a guess I'd say middle of the road and Ultra-rare were almost a 1-1 ratio. The ratio could have been higher but if you have limited packing room & time, most people would rather bring the ultra-rare over the semi-rare. Commons will always be there in large numbers because they're, uhm.., common . I have to agree that Trade-n-games and a Bill Augustine & his brother (and friends?) did have a nice selections w/ a fairly decent mix of common through rare. It was just a lot to go through though. Originally I hadn't planned on selling what I did. I had 2 bins of duplicate games for sale and the rest I brought for people to play. I ended up selling from all the bins because people were interested even though most of them were not duplicates and now need to be replaced. But then, in a lot of ways, I enjoy the hunt as much as having & playing the games If I do this again I will definitely separate my games out better (based on rarity as well as alpha) and price them ahead of time. BTW thanks Jason (trade-n-games) you saved me w/ the collectors price guide, otherwise I would have been guessing on a large portion (especially non-Atari). As it was I let quite a few really good bargins go through and had a few that I asked too much for before looking them up. On average, I tried to go 10-20% lower than the price guide price. I still haven't gone through to catalog what I bought, yet alone figure out what I sold. I know that I came out of there w/ 3 new systems and about 50 or so new games. I have a feeling that my ratio of commons to middle-rare is a lot higher now being that I think I sold most of my 4-6 rarity games. Overall it was a great time and I want to thank everyone that was there for making it so. Let's make sure we do it again next year
  15. I have to agree w/ Demon Attack (my vote), closely followed by Phoenix.
  16. Ah-ha, you were the one who bought the Protector/YASI Again, it's only because I didn't see it first Had a great time. It was a lot of fun putting faces to the names. Did anyone get a picture from the balcony? I went up there to eat lunch and thought that it would be a great pic but got busy again and didn't get up there to take my pic.
  17. I plan on having a few comlynxed lynxes there. Warbirds is one of my favorites lynxed up.
  18. The second one made more sense after he added that it came w/ Pac-man & Combat
  19. Thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for. Now I can tell if my carts are a rarity 2 or 2.01
  20. First thing, I want to apologize if these are stupid questions. I'm trimming my collection down and removing most label variations, keeping the rarer version, and had questions about a few of them since I don't see any distinction listed in the rarity guide. None of these are rare games but I was wondering if one version was slightly rarer than the other Atari Asteroids picture label - Same end label font but one is thicker than the other. The thicker one is a little lighter blue also but this may be due to fading. Activision Barnstorming - One has a colored sky the other is white. The scores are the same on both. [edit] Actually on second inspection one is very colored (plane, barn, ground, windmill) the other is only 4 colors (white, black, green, red) Atari Combat text label - one has a mat finish and the other has a gloss finish. M. Networks Dark Cavern - one copyright states 1982 Korea the other 1982 U.S.A. Atari Missile Command Picture Label - one has the name in upper case the other lower case on both labels Like I said none of these are rare by any means I was just wondering if anyone knew if one was slightly rarer than the other. TIA Atari Video Pinball picture label - one has the name in upper case the other lower case on the end label only

    VCS 2600 ICs

I have an extra Stella chip I bought from BE a long time ago. It turned out to not be the problem so it is just sitting here in it's static case. If interested send me a PM. I'd be willing to let it go for less than I bought it for (which I don't remember right now) since I don't really have any use for it.
  22. Bally Alley is definiatly the best for information. They have also recently uploaded 355 different (basic & ML) programs to the site for playing on an astrocade through the astrobasic & bally basic carts. There is also a bally alley group on yahoo but it has more of a technical direction as opposed to being aimed toward the average collector looking for games. As far as finding cart games a lot of online classic gaming sites carry some. A few w/ decent selections are Atari2600.com (although they can be a bit on the expensive side), 4Jays, collectorscardsandgames (some of the best prices around) and of course eBay
  23. Being the consumate packrat I haven't gotten rid of anything yet but I do have a few systems I no longer pick up games for even when I see them. Systems I no longer look for games for PSX, N64 (although I just bought a pair of arcade stick controllers today), Saturn, C64 TI 99/4a TRS-80 Mac+ Atari ST Game Gear Microvision NeoGeo Pocket Systems I rarely pick up games for and only if they are dirt cheap and I know I don't have it. Even then I may pass. Sega Gen Sega CD (these usually are dirt cheap) NES (it's been well over a year since I last picked up a game) Dreamcast (again over a year) 3do
  24. Thanks for the fast replies. Offhand it doesn't look like it's going to be an issue and there were no references on their site. I just haven't ever sold at a show before and didn't want to cause any problems. If it is an issue I'll take chrisbids suggestion which I'll probably be doing anyways.
  25. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this (feel free to move it) but I had a question for other sellers regarding selling items at shows. If I'm just want to sell a few of my extra items (primarily to buy more items ) do I need a vendors license? I rented a table at CinciClassic, primarily for exibits but was thinking of offering my dupes & un-needed games & units for sale/trade and was worried that I might need a license at which point I'll be doing just exibits
