I thought only the Lynx II came in pink or blue (and red). Now I have to keep an eye out.

I hope you do make it. I had a great time meeting you & Pitfallaimee (at least I think it was her) at the last one. Besides I bought a quarter of my collection (at that time) from your booth. Me and a friend are talking about getting our own table there this year (final decision Friday) primarily for exhibits but also to trade and/or sell our extras. Either way I'll see you all there.

There was a post in the Lynx forums awhile back from one of the people that helped develop the lynx. If I remember correctly they had proposed smaller units but marketing research showed that people prefered the larger version. I'm just about to leave so I'll have to search for the thread later.

I'm not too sure of your definition of "small and sexy". Calling a Lynx 2 small is like calling the H2 a compact car. But I do prefer the smaller size and the exposed cart port not to mention the lack of flaking paint. In noisy areas the louder sound of the Lynx 1 can be helpful but I almost never play w/ the volume all the way up anyways so it doesn't make much difference to me.

For a few months yet I can still fit in the 30 something range. Next year I won't be able to make that claim

Thanks, missed that post.

Maybe I should have put this in the Auction Central but I was wondering if any one w/ dev kits recognizes this setup Lynx devkit? it looks like 2 add on boards to set register bits. Edit: fixed URL

Speaking of astrocade joysticks I just located this site tonight USB Astrocade Controller Adapters They have USB adapters for many classic controllers for use on PCs. Pretty neat site.

I have a Coco 2 w/ 4 games that I've never hooked up. If your interested send me a PM and I can test it this weekend. Right now it's just collecting dust w/ my other systems I don't use.

I have to agree I like the Bally controllers the most of any system. They're confortable and you can play for hours on end. My only complaint is the trigger is a little thin and can start to hurt your finger after a while Other games that use all the features of the controllers are: Football, Baseball, Missile, Red Baron, Scribble, and Blackjack/Poker/Acey-Duecey. Alhough some of these barely use all the functions (i.e. Blackjack). The video pinball controller is a neat idea.

That was my guess also. Grats.

Cute idea, It kinda looks homemade to me but I've been wrong about that before. The $30 price isn't too bad.

I think I'm hosed on this deal...thoughts?

There is still hope but I think you may be right. I did have one seller complete a sale after he was NARU'd and he was very friendly and professional about it. I actually felt bad that I couldn't leave him a good feedback. -
Nice collection but I have to agree, it hurt my eyes just scanning through it.

I didn't look through all the responses, being Xmas eve and all so this may have already been mentioned. My vote for the worst game ever would have to be "Plumbers don't wear ties" for the 3DO. There's a few hours of my life I'll never have back. I've never seen, played, nor heard of a worse game. Sadly I have to admit I actually played this game through twice once normal and then unlocked to see if I actually missed something (like a game) the first time through. I want my 2 and half hours back

Now I guess you just wait for the retalitory neg I really hate when idiots do things like this.

It can also be modded for mouse input. It's a neat item collectionwise but not as exciting as you'd think. Instead of giving you a immersive VR feeling it's more like having an old gameboy strapped to your head. Although I did enjoy racing games on mine.

What was your very first console?

The original Odyssey (1) w/ the shotgun. I was fairly young then so I consider the Bally Astrocade my first one even though we got it a couple of years later. -
Arrrghh, I was planning on bidding but we had a crisis at work today and I just got done w/ it. I really wanted a few of these.

blurry, yes but trails, no

Would you consider shipping to the U.S.?

I played one at our local target the other night while waiting for the traffic to clear out from the show showers and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I did notice that there is a cartridge slot near the top, so it looks like they may release additional games for it in the future. The screen was small and the cabinet is a bit short but the unit I was playing was on a low shelf which made the height about right and the screen closer to me so I found it very playable. If I got one I'd definatly build a pedestal to put it at a proper height. I also found defender a bit difficult w/ the button layout & questioned the quality of the controls. The buttons seem to be ok but I was worried about breaking the joystick while playing sinistar. It's not a arcade replacement but more of a novalty item. They were selling it for $389 which seems a bit steep for what it actually is. If it had arcade quality controls I might consider it although being able to replace the screen w/o having to hack up the cabinet would be nice also. Although if someone was to give me one (hint, hint, nudge, nudge) I wouldn't pass it up.

Were the Odyssey 2 joysticks analog or were they just analog looking?

Not sure since I've never tried it. Since it's a thicker media it may work better. I've had better luck w/ the slower rated CD-Rs than the faster rated ones. 4x CD-Rs seem to work very well. I believe it may be due to the fact that it's an older laser lens and requires more reflection than a lot of discs now have. I've had similar problems w/ PCs w/ very old CD Rom drives. If you send me a PM I can probably send you a couple that work in my FZ-1.
