  1. Are you still pursuing this? I just got in a Miniature Golf box. A-C011822-26 G-C014060-26 Rev 4 on one flap. Other flap has Adpak San Francisco. No date. There is a small 5 below though. Probably the first released box since the others I've seen all have dates. Phil
  2. Decided before entering all the 3rd party info, while integrating all the manuals, I wanted to make sure that I have all the scans of everything listed that I can get. So I'm first working on acquiring all the scans on to my computer. Will take way long to get it on the website, so like I mentioned before, uploading all scans and creating pages for manuals will be last. But I want at least copies of everything ready to go so it'll be much easier to do when I get to it. Plus I want to make sure I don't sell copies I only have 1 of, or if I'm getting them from websites, the websites for some reason doesn't have them anymore and then I'm at a loss. I'm currently working on Activision. What I've discovered for the early Activision games is that the original listings were with a TM trademark next to Activision and somewhere along the line, they went with the ® registered mark. There are a few titles with this on both boxes and manuals. Some titles are Barnstorming, Boxing, and Stampede that come to mind. There are a couple more, but they don't come to mind. Maybe Fishing Derby and Freeway. Anyway, all 3rd party companies are listed that have US released games. Foreign games may be shown and listed under these companies. I am not listing any companies that had only foreign releases. Atariboxed.com is currently doing that. Phil
  3. Ok, just to update. Purchased a large lot of manuals and other paperwork. I'm integrating it with my stock and fixing my word document so it's accurate. Once I get finished with that I'm going back to the 3rd party software. I'm going to do a list of all the companies that are missing, though there will be no links yet. In fact I am going to do that this evening. Once I'm done integrating the manuals, I'll finish the cart/box pages on all the 3rd party items. I'll then get to the manuals which will take a while to do. When working on the 3rd party pages, if there are few manuals or even just one, I'll try and create the manual page for it like I did with the Selchow and Righter Glib. Anyway, just keeping everyone abreast of what is going on. If for some reason you see an error with the site (for some reason I forgot to put the back of the Adv of Tron 1st box scan), let me know. If I'm missing a scan, there should be a black box place holder saying I need the scan. If there is no scan or place holder, then something went wrong and I probably forgot to put it. So just let me know. And if you have anything I'm missing, again I'd be grateful if you can scan and send them. When I get to Sears, that's where I think I'll need the most help. Phil
  4. Going through those games I bought a couple of months ago, I discovered I had a new Solaris variation. It is the 1987 Printed in Hong Kong box. Am in the process of putting it up right now. Cartridge inside is NTSC. I think this is the first NTSC boxed version I've come across. Phil
  5. If you can, make the game longer. Putting a challenge is always good. I'm assuming you're creating a variation or if only 1 option of play, randomness of items and dragons like Adventure level 3 does. Playing level 3 is totally random so if you're lucky enough, you can finish the game in a couple of minutes, or if you get a great randomness, maybe up to 10 minutes. Also, hopefully you create a game that can be finished each time. I remember some times that games couldn't be finished because keys were locked in their own castles from the start. Good luck with this. I probably would be interested in a copy when you're all done. Adventure is probably my favorite game for the 2600. Phil
  6. What's up with Adventure selling as high as $16 loose on Ebay? Seems like it's several times too, not just a one shot. I see an average of $6-8, but why would people pay double that? I can't wait until I get my loose games down here in Florida. I probably have at least 5 copies of it and several instruction manuals. I've always tried being fair when selling my games, but fair isn't paying my bills. I think I may have to invest some time into seeing what prices are going for games and sell appropriately. The market for vintage games is getting a bit ridiculous. Phil
  7. I actually have this same problem with a light sixer I have hooked up. When I get time, maybe I'll try to do the fix also. Was going to sell this thing. Unless anyone wants to buy it as is and fix it themselves. Need money real bad and want to start moving things. Have a ton of controllers, so if someone wants it complete with 2 joysticks and paddles (have to test things), let me know and maybe we can come up with a deal. Always looking for boxed games for trade too, though cash is a bit more important at this time. Phil
  8. If you sell it, you will no longer be the AtarianGuy
  9. Rom, Have you tried to attempt this? I don't remember. Maybe which cart went with which box? Phil
  10. Put up the new boxes yesterday. I discovered the Super Breakout is actually a new variation, or possibly was on the original list, but I removed it until I confirmed it. It is a 1978 label with a sliding protector (Cart 2). This will be added over the weekend. Also, the manual was a 1986 Made in Taiwan which wasn't on my list, so that is also new. I'm considering doing something which will be a very long process. I thought about documenting exactly which cartridge goes with which manual in which box. This will help know which variations go with which. The problems that can arise are twofold. One is that my variation list consistently changes when I find new variations. I am trying to keep all variations in order of release, at least what I can guess or figure out from the info I have. The bigger issue would be if I receive a complete in box game, is the game contents all original to the box. I receive empty boxes all the time, or ones missing the manuals and such. I put the manuals and carts in empty boxes as best I can to try and keep originality. Like no circuit board protector would go in later releases like 1985 or after, and even the 1985-1986 may have sliding protectors. When I receive a later release game and it has what looks to be appropriate game/manual/box, then I can assume this was all original, like the case with the Super Breakout I now have. It will be a slow and arduous process, but probably worth it in the long run for informational purposes. The only true way of knowing what original contents came in a box would be to open brand new sealed items. I have a few games in the latest lot that were still sealed at the top and the bottom was opened, or came unglued. These were not removed for the most part as I saw I could not access the actual cartridge inside due to the cardboard. So I'm going to begin making the list as best I can but will not publish it until I can get a decent amount of games on the list. Probably will take several years if I ever do publish it. Anyway, I'll keep on working on the lot I picked up. Though I don't think I have any more new variations, I am adding printer/dates for many boxes, so some new information is being compiled. I'll also continue to work on the 3rd party software hoping to complete this over the summer. Phil
  11. Won't bother with complaining about my newest venture to get moved down to Florida as my finances have taken another hit. What I do want to say is that I found 2 new variations that I did not have on my want list. Indy 500 white warranty box with copyright inside the box Super Breakout: 90 day warranty with Made in Taiwan silver sticker over the Printed in USA and it also includes the multi-language manual. (These 2 will be put live on the site sometime this weekend) I'm going through more boxed games I received this week in a batch I bought, so I may find more variations I hope. I've added several printers and/or dates to already existing variations. I'm working on compiling as complete information as I can. Have been adding some 3rd party printer/date info too with Coleco, Activision, and Data Age. Eventually when I get settled down here (hoping by next year) with my own house, I'll be unpacking my collection once again and going through all the info I can add to what I'm missing. I mentioned in the other thread that I've begun adding the title pages to the rest of the 3rd party companies. I plan on having at least the title pages finished within the week and will begin working on getting the carts/boxes for everything that I can within a few months. Manuals will again take some time, but easier titles with 1 or 2 manuals may get finished at the same time as the carts and boxes. I've done that with some small 3rd party software companies already. I actually didn't mention this about my job here in Florida, but I'm working as a comic book grader for CGC. Anyone knows about this company will understand exactly what I'm doing. I'm a pre-grader, which means I see the comics first. I count pages, check for any missing pages, pieces cut out, make sure the book is original, check for writing, put all the details on the computer about the book's flaws, then assign it a grade. It then moves on to another grader, who pretty much does the same. At the end, someone gives it the official grade and it gets sent off to be sealed in the holder and sent back to the customer. I worked for this company back in 2001 in the slab room sealing the books. I probably should have come down with the company back then, but made the decision not to teach, but work grading comics. Longer work hours and less pay, but it's fun seeing all the great vintage comics that come in. I don't handle the really expensive stuff. At least not yet. Majority of items I grade are estimated under $500, but I've seen some really expensive books in the past 4 months. This is a dream job where I don't look at the clock and time just passes rapidly throughout the day. Sometimes there is history behind books including names written in or on the book of original owners 60-70 years ago, store stamps and puzzles filled out. I have lots of fun. Anyway, jumped off the topic, but I'll be looking through the rest of my boxes to see if anything else is new. Sad part is the Indy 500 back of the box is a bit faded. Wish I had a better version to scan, but at least there will be something to show. Phil
  12. Cool, thanks. Have been getting ready to add the rest of the 3rd party software. Been having a difficult time personally or else I would have done much more.
  13. I finally got a bit settled down in Florida. I am putting on my first system of a few on Ebay. It is a 4 switch 2600A. I tested the boxed Combat I'm including with it. Comes with 2 working joysticks and power adapter. No tv switchbox though. Besides this, I have over 100 games for sale for the 2600. I still have about 7 more to put on and will be listing even more when I can get back to NJ during May and get all my loose games down here. I have a few dozen boxes with no games so until I can put together complete box, manual, carts, you'll have to settle for what I'm offering. Probably one of the biggest dealers of boxed games and for the most part I try not to overcharge. I actually sold a RotL last week to Happiestseller! If I was in NJ, I could have delivered it to his door. Go figure. Anyway, I'll be offering another Raiders within a couple of days. The link below is for the 2600 listings, but I have over 200 other items on, so feel free to browse my listings. No more store as Ebay charges a fortune. Have to wait for free listings to get more stuff on. So take a look and hopefully you'll like something you see. I only ship priority as I use their smaller boxes and fits a game perfectly with a little room. I gladly combine shipping. 14. Here's the full story as I posted it the following day. https://www.facebook.com/Philflound/posts/10207624437501719
  15. Updates. I bought a moving truck (small cube truck) and was on my 3rd trip down. This was 3 weeks ago. Truck caught fire. I lost half my stuff on the truck along with the truck itself, and sustained minor burns on 2 fingers. This load was all my ebay stuff, and I lost about 17 long boxes of comics along with other items. Good thing is that the Atari stuff for the most part didn't get damaged. A little smoke smell on some of the stuff and one copy of Ice Hockey has a light brown stain on the box. The move is taking much longer than I wanted and I'm now at a dilemma on how to get the rest of the stuff down. My wife and I are throwing ideas out there. I'm hoping to make another trip within a few weeks. One good thing is that I'm lucky to be alive as I believe that the fire was already going while I was driving, but since I had so much stuff packed together, it didn't have oxygen to burn. Also, I jumped on the truck several times, that's how I got hurt, and supposedly fell 3 times according to the sheriff who was there helping me. Kept tossing stuff out hoping to save as much as possible. Thing is, every time I filled the gas tank, the hose from the nozzle area to the tank dripped a bit. It also ran down to the tank. Had the fire reached that area, it probably would have exploded. So i'm grateful I'm still here, though it took a toll physically, emotionally, and financially. I need this whole thing to be over. I'm hoping to celebrate Christmas this year in my own house (need to find one) for the first time in at least 10 years. I modified a couple of listings from a recent small purchase. Have not worked on it otherwise for the fact I'm trying to work extra hours, and I'm trying to change the bags/boards on the saved comics and cleanup the salvaged items with new bags and boxes. Just more work for me. Anyway, thanks for your patience. Phil
  16. This is probably not true. The people who grew up with these are already out of college, myself being in my mid-40s, so the disposable income is already here. What seems to keep a market going are younger people getting into the vintage systems that they weren't alive at the time these were out. Phil
  17. I'll be living in Bradenton and working in Sarasota.
  18. As I've said in other threads, I had about 48 2600 games, which I sold to my brother's friend. His house went up in a blaze and all my original games were destroyed. I long since have picked up every game I used to own and a ton more. When I finally get settled down in Florida hopefully by the end of the summer I'll have a home I can call my own, I'll try and continue my quest for those rare to find games. My wife is having a field day trying to box up all my games. The loose ones aren't too bad, which are probably close to 300 but the 350 or so boxed ones are a pain. My Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, and Master System games are already packed away. Phil
  19. I actually don't recommend getting anything graded unless you have something really high grade, sealed, AND want to resell it. I have I think about 650 games for the 2600 and never have gotten anything graded. Phil
  20. Just to update on this thread. I'm moving to Florida at the end of this week. This is what the last post was about, applying for a job and I was offered it. Once down there, my wife will be back in NJ to continue packing. This should give me a lot of free time as I don't have to drive her around shopping and such, so I can finally get working on the site. While cleaning and packing up my computer room, I finally came across my Microsoft 2000, so I have Front Page once again. I'll decide whether or not to use it. I'm also happy that I have MS Access as I put in my video game collection and made my missing games/boxes/manuals query to make my life easy. I need to continue to finish that too. If all goes well, we'll be buying our home by late spring. I'm hoping and praying that things work out. This has been a journey that has had more downs that ups. Phil
  21. I'll be working on my variation site and adding manuals over the next few months. I'm moving to Florida at the end of this week to start a new job. My wife is staying in NJ to continue packing. You can't imagine the amount of stuff we have. Not sure how many trips it will take. Anyway, since I'll be down there by myself with no wife to hound me to drive her places, I can spend much time with the website. Also, I found my Microsoft 2000, so I may go back to my Front Page to do the web pages. I found it much easier, especially with the links. Phil
  22. Ok, whatever is on is pretty much all that is for sale. I just got back some graded comics including autographed Marvel Star Wars Empire Strikes Back issues. If you look at ended items, unsold Hallmark and American Greetings ornaments are still able to be gotten. Many of the items have been permanently packed so cannot be purchased. Last chance. I'm moving next week whether I'm ready or not.
  23. The people with no knowledge of what they're selling are always trying to trick some poor person into buying things they believe are old and rare. If I had a sucker who'd pay exorbitant prices for all this stuff, I'd be a millionaire by now. It's sad to see some people do get duped into buying stuff.
