  1. Thanks for the offer cvga, but I have over 200 titles in my 2600 collection...so I don't think I'm hurting for stuff to play!! This contest was a lot of fun, and since I didn't have the prize, I figured I might as well stick it out until the end. Again, great contest!!! I think a lot of us were in the same boat, none of us knew that the characters in Double Dunk had names!!!
  2. He's already about 60% there with that list in this thread I think. Well, I'm off to bed. It's 2 AM (I'll blame what I believe to be my fatal mistake on the time...) and I have to work tomorrow...errrr...later today. I hope we've finally gotten this right, congrats all on a very fun game!!
  3. I didn't realize that there were this many named characters in Atari games... I was about ready to throw in some Nintendo characters just to make sure!!
  4. Yeah, but who would "throw out" a ball, except for the guy on the inside???
  5. If it is, I'm sure it's oesii. Remember the clue when he said (paraphrasing) "You don't have to play as the character"? Well, you start with the ball at the 3-point line, meaning you start as Mr. Outside, you never have to pass to Mr. Inside if you don't want to, although I think you can play as teammates, making Mr. Inside an optional character to play. (I never played the game until after I made the guess, I found the name in the manual here on AA). Also, when he said one of the last guesses was close, I thought he meant my Wile E. Coyote guess (based on lonesome_pa's coyote avatar), but somebody (Jeffy) guessed a character named "Mr. Hero" We won't get official word until cgva gives it, but I feel pretty safe saying congrats to oesii. Fun contest, and very maddening at the same time!!!
  6. I didn't mind feeling lonely...especially since I meant to type Mr. Inside, but something inside my head refused to let me put it down...
  7. Wile E. Coyote from Road Runner!!!
  8. How about the gymnast from Circus Atari?
  9. That seems to be the longest I've ever seen on a 2600 cartridge... Nice goodies in that box... If we expand this to other systems, I'd have to say Jack Nicklaus' Greatest 18 Holes Of Major Championship Golf for the NES
  10. I've been to a few shops (Babbages and an EB) and the people there are bashing the game unmercifully, calling it "boring" and the graphics "just plain bad" Now I see GamePro gives it 4s and 5s and great player reviews...where is the big rift coming from???

  16. OK, I now have 10 games for the GBA. I dare say you have similar tastes to me (judging by what you listed above). Here's what I have, and a few thoughts... The first few are besically NES / SNES ports (they are different in some minor ways), if you liked the originals, you'll like these!! F-Zero Maximum Velocity Super Mario Advance (1&2) Super Mario Kart World Circuit Castlevania : Circle of the Moon - I didn't get into it very much, not a bad game, just didn't like it enough to play it much. Ecks vs. Sever - A FPS, very reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D, maybe a bit linear, but I found this to be a fun game, and only $10 new at Best Buy Fortress - Think of a cross between Rampart and Tetris, the best game I've played on the system. The Three Stooges - A C64 remake, very nostalgic for me, it is a bit harder on the GBA. Fire Pro Wrestling - Sadly, I didn't get a rulebook, so I have no idea how to play it. Nice graphics though. ESPN Final Round Golf 2002 - Solid, if unremarkable golf game, a great wind down game. This is all I have, hope it helps out a bit.
  17. @ cap, I think I know why you may have trouble finding that Bowling "sweet spot" on an emulator. If you did it like I used to on an original system, you could get strikes with your eyes closed, because you were waiting for a sound. IIRC, it's when the ball is halfway between it's 3rd and 4th "roll" down the lane. I tested it on my 2600 and was hitting 279 and even a 298 consistently after about 3 games. I know that occasionally, the emulators glitch the sound, so it might be a slight bit off. I've had a couple of 250+ games on emulator, but those are rare. And because I'm an idiot, I forgot to list some of my Guilty Pleasures... My favorite game ever is Journey Escape, I don't think many people actually like it... I am partial to Fire Fly by Mythicon I love Sneak 'N Peek I was thrilled beyond belief when I finally got Miniature Golf at Cinciclassic last year
  18. Apparently they didn't make enough boxes for Atari Video Cube, when I got mine "back in the day" it came in a Dodge 'Em box...for 99 cents. Dodge 'Em box, Dodge 'Em instruction manual...Atari Video Cube cartridge. At the time I was so mad, because I wanted Dodge 'Em!!!! Now I have 6 Dodge 'Em's, and I want Atari Video Cube!!!!!!!!!
  19. Well at least I had that much right...what's sad is that I did the Scrabble scoring in my head... I'd do something like this, if I had any games to give away...
  20. Even though it wasn't the game you were giving away, would Blueprint have been a valid response as well? Or is it two words on the cartidge (I don't have the game so I don't know for sure)? Just curious, great contest Stan Jr.!!! Now I have to bust out my Boggle game
