That actsually sounds pretty cool...in fact the guy with the crown in Journey Escape kinda looks like the guy who made Nsync...
-
I'd like to see that, maybe with a 2600 version of the "current" Elvis hit "A Little Less Conversation" playing in the background??

That little doohickey is a Radio Shack specialty...I don't know the correct name (something like a 75 to 300 ohm converter I think...) should be dirt cheap... As for games, if you can find some, let me know. I only have 8, and really am looking for more (even some of the very common ones...) Get Munch Man and Parsec, those are my two favorite games for the TI

Thanks for the help so far, I screwed up my ankle at work pretty bad today, and could not get down the stairs to the basement tonight... I'll try the Jag. adapter, as I don't think the Sega one I had was quite the right one... As for the access light, it came on, for about three seconds, I heard the disc spin up a bit (so it had a disc in it), but then I didn't have anything else setup, so I stupidly turned it off...hasn't come on since @VGA, the 5200 ain't a work of art if the freakin' thing doesn't work... The Genesis works, I actually haven't tried that 32X yet, as I already had a working one.
-
Does anyone else think that Kaboom! cartridge looks funny? Both of mine have a pink / purple label.
-
I haven't blown it up, yet. I am about ready to take both of my non-working 5200's and drop them off of a tall building...

If it were me, I'd pour over that BASIC book, and play around with it...it was a fun language to program in, and the TI had some really good BASIC programs in the old days of Family Computing magazine!! I'm not really clear about something. Are you missing something to hook it up to a TV? If so, I may be able to help you find out what you would need...and without a doubt RadioShack would have it, although they probably don't even know it!!
-
Probably not going to be worth a whole lot. I've found 2 in the wild, one for $15, and one for $3. Both were loose, but with all hookups and a pair of joysticks. The $15 was missing 3 keys, but it was the first I had seen since 1986 (when I had to get rid of mine), so I bought it anyway!! I can't imagine it going on eBay for more than $20-25 without cartridges, although you never know. I'd love to see the book on Basic programming. I used to program silly little games on both my TI and my Commodore 64. BASIC was the only programming language I could ever understand. I remember just a small bit today, but I'd like to get back into it a bit... Nice to find stuff like that in a closet isn't it? Wish I still had my old one in a closet somewhere

Part 1 - Check, metal mounting ok! Part 2 - This may be the problem, it ends up I was one power supply short. While I do have a Sega power adapter that fits the system, the numbers aren't 100% the same (now where is my universal adapter *shuffle shuffle*) Part 3 - How does choking it with my "official Atari 5200 dead system Kung-Fu Grip" sound?

It's the same reason a serial numbered 1 of 100 Sammy Sosa autographed baseball card goes for more than a serial numbered 1 of 100 Mike DiFelice autographed baseball card, more people have heard of Sammy Sosa. There may be equal numbers of the cards in existence, but because Sammy is regarded as a more "marketable" player, so his card is worth more. Quedrun is a good rare game, and it is usually the first one if you ask a collector for a list of "holy grail" games for the 2600. And it is the best known "10 rare" game (the Antiques Roadshow effect) If you did a poll of the average 2600 collector for the top 5 rarest 2600 games, Quadrun would be #1 on 80-90% of those lists. Now, is it the rarest? Probably not, but most people associate it with being the rarest. And since so many of the "10 rares" are reprints of already prtoduced games, those are in far less demand as well. "Why pay $500 for a Beagle Brothers Q*Bert when I can buy 5 for $2 at Goodwill?"

I have a Genesis model 2, and a Sega CD model 2. The access light came on for about 3 seconds yesterday, but I still cannot figure out how to get it all to work...oh well.
-
I just picked up a Genesis, 32X and Sega CD setup for $30 at a flea market (came w/ 11 games total). One problem though...I can't seem to get the CD hooked up right. Can anyone give me some things to try or some good places to find info? I don't get any sign of life from the system...please help!!
-
I just wanted to say that my 5200s have the exact same problem...I have a 2 port and a 4 port, neither one will power up successfully...I have done everything I can think of, but nothing works...I'd love to play my games, but without a system, it's kind of hard. I do have a working joystick though!!
-
Been there, done that except that the Quadrun was $3...and it was because I didn't have an Atari 2600 yet. - You always buy the cartridge that doesn't have the label, just in case. You now own 456 copies of Combat and Asteroids.

I'll hazard a guess that it has something to do with the Activision collection that Ken from Activision was talking about all those months ago. I suspect that with this package coming out (remember, with almost all of Activision's 2600 games, and some "surprises") that Activision would probably frown on those games being freely posted around the web. I am just putting out a theory, this might mean that the pack is nearing release then??? If I am way off base, then I do apologize.

details details, geez you and your "knowledge" just kidding, I didn't know that!! That is odd though...
-
OK, a few lousy ones from me (and I like these Sears variations as well...) Hangman - Word Guess Pac-Man - Maze Muncher (yeah I know they did this one as Pac-Man...I want it for a later joke...) Midnight Magic - Super Video Pinball Taz - Tornado Asteroids - Space Fight IX Jr. Pac-Man - Baby Maze Muncher (see...) and finally... Crazy Climber - Spider-man God those were horrible... @King Atari- "Sentinel- Jack Horkeimer's Outer Space Super Pro Challenge" ROFL!!! Keep your feet on the ground, and keep looking up!!

Journey Escape was a perfectly normal game, avoiding fans, photgraphers, and barriers, and getting help from guys with crowns and little robots... I always thoght Q-Bert was odd, I mean a little oragne gonzo rip off jumping around on cubes, avoiding springs with teeth? And then swearing when he gets hit?? That's weird...

strangest place I ever found Atari games for sale? Probably at the Village Pantry near my apartment back in Indianapolis (onlysaw them there twice though) Strangest place I ever got an Atari cart? A funeral. I gave up Haunted House for Journey Escape when I was 8. JE is still my favorite 2600 game!!
-
Gee, and I like the music in Journey Escape...I think it's pretty catchy...
-
Kaboom, River Raid, and Journey Escape are my games I can't put down...

Why am i so damn lucky all of a sudden?
Scooterb23 replied to MattG/Snyper2099's topic in Atari 2600
Very nice start on a manual collection there Krytol. I just had a manual find last weekend myself, and now it has me kind of interested to start collecting the manuals for NES and 2600 games. Although I'll still never actively collect boxes, just not enough room for that madness. Hope you keep finding them!!
