Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here.
I really like the new boards, I think they look very fresh and kind of happy (if that makes any sense at all)
It will take a while to get used to the new placement of some buttons, but that will ease in time.
I love the bigger avatars; finally got to put up my Aphex Twin pic and have it look ok!!

I guess I'm not too much of a power user, I didn't notice any of the missing features others were talking about.
Keep up the great work. Oh and by the way, I am on a 56k connection, and the page is loading at least 50% faster than it ever did before.

Whenever I think of a 2600 Hulk game, I see Double Dragon, without the kicks. The character is a bit bulked up, and green...

It's time, once again, for me to mention my miss on a boxed Quadrun in a thrift for $3 becaue I didn't have an Atari yet. Got one a week later, the game of course, was gone.
-
Actually DTAhank, it already has been...
-
Yeah, and when they couldn't sell them as Atari Video Cube, they put them in Dodge 'Em boxes that's how I got mine when I had it. Bought if for 99 cents too At the time I was mad because I wanted Dodge 'Em!! Now I'm mad because somebody has my Atari Video Cube!!!

Speaking of Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" have you seen the easter egg about a demon head, and other hidden visuals on the disc?
Really creepy, lots of fun to find though...they have a lot of info on how to find it through www.eeggs.com

Don't worry Pitbull, I haven't fired up my real Atari in about 5 months. I'm about 25 games behind on testing things. I just hate going to the basement...
I look to fire it up in about 2 weeks, the next time I have a day off
-
Maybe they were doing some kind of bizarre numbering system (Like Atari did with the 01 Combat's and such) SO theoretically, there should have been a game with a III suffix and so on...just a theory (I never claimed to have good theories)
-
You've played Speedway II right? Just imagine how bad Speedway I would have been
-
So who did go, and how was it? I really am disappointed in not going. Although my day wasn't that bad anyway, I really ws hoping to get info / started on my long idle TI994A collection there, and of course those 2 cool Sniderman games...
-
Complete opposite for me: I had every intention of going, it's only 2.5-3 hours from here. And I'd love to have those two games, but seeing as how I only have $60 in the bank, and I have a huge game convention in early July (I spend $400-500 every year at Origins). I'm not going to make it It doesn't make sense for me to get in a car at 5:30 AM, drive all that way, just to spend $30 (my limit for the weekend).

I don't want to sound rude, but it is only $11 through Hozer, heck I can find Combat carts that people are selling for more money...and it is definitely a fun hack of Venture. I need to order some of those myself...

The Pumpkin Show...shuts down the entire town for a whole week. I live less than 5 minutes away from it, and I haven't been there in 10 years. Absolutely nothing changes location. The day before it starts, at school no less, they told us where the best food carts are set up. Oh yeah, all the schools are closed for 3 days for it.
-
Thanks, doesn't look like I'm going to have enough $$$ to go for it, too bad because I've always wanted that game...
-
Y'know what? Let's all get torches and go to Pitfall Harry's house right now...
Greek huh? Hey why not, to me it looks like a bunch of Tetris blocks...
Good night all...

What kind of smell did you get there? At the Goodwill on Morse Road in Columbus, I walked in one day feeling great, I threw up five times in the next 12 minutes...as soon as I walked back outside I felt fine again. Definitely a strange smell in the place (and before anyone else says anything cruel, we got there just after opening, and were the only people there).

Hey, if you are happy, that's all that matters. The prices seem a bit steep, but not unreasonable (of course, I'd pay $2 for any Atari cart I didn't have yet), except those $6 carts yikes!! I can explain a little of that I think...
Often, they put the price up on a game if they think it has a lot of games on it (i.e. Space Invaders has 112 game variations, so to them it means it has 112 games while the others have only 1, so it is more expensive).
Can't really explain Video Pinball or Moon Patrol, perhaps those fall under the "I've heard of that, so charge more for it" category. It is understandable, people have heard of pinball, and Moon Patrol was a pretty popular arcade game, so they think those should be more valuable. I'll assure you, they don't have rarity guides. But following that logic, M*A*S*H should have been $6 who knows?
There is no possible explanation for a $6 Street Racer IMO.
Again, as long as you are happy with it, then it's a good find.

Oh ok, I haven't looked at the Activision thing much, but they are still both on just one joystick right? Seems cheesy, I'll probably still buy one.
-
If I recall, these are 1 player units right? How the F can they do Combat then???? I can pick up the Activision ones in droves at Toys R US, but I think they are still $20. I may go get one for the heck of it this weekend anyway. While they are at it, they should make the other four games Warlords, Super Breakout, Video Olympics and Circus Atari.

@ Cincy - I'm in Circleville, about 30 minutes south of Columbus. Home of the Pumpkin Show in October (woohoo) [/sarcasm].
@ Rom - Thanks for the offer of the Snoopy game, but I can't play PAL games sadly

My apologies to those who had previously dismissed this clue as being completely worthless. Thanks for putting it back, I was hoping it was worthless frankly, (one less thing to worry about) oh well...
-
Jeez Nukey, how long did it take you to come up with that mess?? It was all I could do to figure out how to see those boxes!! Impressive, I'm definitely out now
-
Just like the topic says...I'm trying to figure out what the top game in the middle row is...
Thanks for any help you may be able to give...

This whole contest is becoming a pain in the ascii...but still fun. I think I'll have to take some time away for a while though. I have been having some pretty heavy stress related physical problems the past two weeks, so it looks like a good time to bow out. I know little about braille, nothing about ascii, morse code, semafore flags, whatever the hell codes are in that map. I'll still keep track of this thread, but I can't stare at that map screen anymore...good luck to all.

How do I get a cool avatar?

Uber, love your avatar...looks like a great idea for Super Smash Bothers sequal, My. Game & Watch vs. Sinistar, hahaha that would be great!!
