  1. Oh no it's not arcade perfect.
  2. The controls seem to be pretty sensitive too but I assume I'll get used to that as well. The controllers are actually better than a stock one for games like Pole Position as they're more precise.
  3. I'd never played the 5200 version until last night. The thing that really makes it for me is the voice. I hadn't realized any of the 5200 games actually had any speech in them. I always thought Berzerk for the 2600 was kind of lame so I didn't bother with the 5200 version.
  4. I played it over Thanksgiving. It's a decent party game. I was quite disappointed with the fencing and the skeet shooting is pretty hard but the field events were fun. I didn't get to play any of the gymnastics stuff. One thing I found rather cool is you can actually have teams for relay events with fouls for handing off out of the hand off zone.....etc.
  5. I got a CC2 and 5200 multicart. Those two purchases pretty much guaranteed I couldn't keep up. lol
  6. Realsports Baseball for the 2600. You have a base runner on third. You start him towards home during the pitch. If the batter hits the ball he is immediately warped to first base when the runnner crosses the plate. So I'd try timing it so the runner would cross home plate right after the batter hit the ball. The computer wouldn't ever try to throw you out running back to third so if the batter missed the ball you could abort and head back to third. I could score all day on the computer doing this. I'd get to 100 runs just to watch it roll over to 0 just because I could.
  7. I always liked the Wico Command Control joystick for the 2600. They were well built.
  8. The sports games totally kicked the crap out of "sports games" on any Atari system. Utopia and B-17 bomber were cool as well.

  10. That did it, thanks. So the proper line would use HSC_32K and HSC.
  11. If I use 7800_32k and the 7800BIOS I only get one frog chirp sound on the menu screen then no other sounds. My CC2 doesn't have a pokey chip. HSC_32K and HSC as the bios do the same thing except I then get the high score screen as well.
  12. I figure I'll be about 40th in line like I was for Beef Drop.
  13. That's the update I was hoping for since it was hoped to be done early this month.
  14. I thought Keystone Kapers was kind of cool as a kid. Now I can't play it for more than 5 minutes because it's very repetitive.
  15. I read the reviews but I always make sure to check the gamer score as well. The gamer score is much more important to me than the actual reviewer score although the gamer score is usually a few points higher than the reviewer score. I assume it's because people that like the games are more likely to rate a game than people who don't care. I only check for reviews if I've never heard of a game though and I'm curious about it. Now that most games have a demo for the 360 I'll just play the demo first.
  16. The only 2600 game I'll play now is River Raid and I don't play that one as much as I might have as a kid. We never owned River Raid and I don't really know why. The other game I still play a little would be Chopper Command but even it doesn't hold up all that well for me. I can remember playing games like Activision Tennis trying to see if I could beat the computer 6 - 0 and not lose a single point just to see if I could do it. Now I couldn't care less. Heck when I had my 7800 I got over 200,000 points on expert and now I bet my highest score is around 50,000 and I don't care if I ever go higher. I think mainly it's changing tastes as I got older. Now I'd much rather go ride my mountain bike or watch sports on tv or do a million other things. 2600 games are great mini-games to play at lunch though.
  17. Yeah I ordered an extension cable from oldschoolgamer.com over the weekend. I figured I could probably use electrical tape or duct tape it to what's currently coming out of the redemption unit.
  18. I'd rather play my 7800 versions that were done by PacManPlus. They're much more fun to me.
  19. I never look at critic reviews anyway. I look at the related reviews they have from users instead. I trust a groups of users much more than any one critic.
  20. I still remember paying $70 for Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure for the Genesis in 1994 which translates to around $98 now.
  21. Since they have drums in this game it's too bad there is no Wipeout.
  22. Congrats on your find dude.
