What? There's no mention of the Flashback 2.0, or Curt Vendel? That seems odd for a book of this type.
Also, did I read right: there are FOUR different version of the Flashback 8? ...and there's remote control paddles somewhere? This is getting confusing. Why not just release one? I'm sure it has been discussed, but for such a small niche you'd think this is overkill.
Arent there more than four? FB 8 standard, FB 8 Standard deluxe, 8 gold, 8 gold deluxe, 8 activision.... well guess thats only 5..

I think this was discussed in the Coleco Chameleon thread. chris cardillo is behind it, and nobody here is really interested because of the middle finger he gave the Coleco fan base.
I'm interested in the Rainbow Brite game that PacManPlus is working on.

Ooo starpath games? I actually dont own any of those amd would be up for that.

Left for sure looks better. Most of my carts that look like the one on the right start having the labels peel off.
If you have no need for both i might be interested in which one you deem unworthy.

I have had jr's that fail with run of the mill cartridges... I should think this isn't so much a compatibility issue but rather a jr defect issue, perhaps someone will compare them and find out why,.. and after it annoyed me from time to time I learned my lesson... ask me how many juniors I own now? ZERO!
Of course as I read it looks like updating the carts to 1.05 helped some people with all systems...
maybe that should be part of the test?
If it really turns out to be the junior then simply put not for use with junior on the cartridge label if junior is defective then the junior needs a fix...
What games have you had issues with? I have a junior and havent noticed anything.

I don't see anything wrong with it. While its not in top 3 on my list to get. This game does have me interested because I think my wife would have fun competing against me on it.

Awww the Virtual Boy...
But if it's terrible, How come I want one?
Come on people Why? WHY?? haha
Seriously if anyone has one for sale cheap,...Do let me know...A few years back a guy at work was supposed to sell me a Virtual Boy his wife owned. But he never came through...I even bought some games figuring I'll get one eventually...
I want one as well and will buy it as cheap as him plus one more dollar, but no more than one dollar.I don't see the Jr. getting much love but that's what I grew up on until we got an NES. My uncle had a 7800 for awhile and all I remembered about that was Pole Position and Food Fight. I resurrected the Jr. from a damp basement and a dust bunny the size of a small platter.

Man I really want to be positive. I also just want an update. Something.

Instead I should order some homebrews. Help me choose: I'm definitely preordering Draconian. Now I'm tore between... Anguna 2600, B*nq, and Astro Blaster for the 2nd and possibly 3rd pick.

Originally intended to release this on Halloween, but I was tied up with Daddy Mulk haha

But the important thing as I see it is that they're no longer infrared. You don't need to point them at the sensor for them to work.
Do you know what's on the cartridge?
No idea just has like a 5 in 1 sticker on it according to the box.

I was playing the SNES classic last night and have a question about pixelation. I am not familiar with SNES that much -- I had the NES, but not the SNES -- and have only been exposed to a few games.
I was playing Donkey Kong Country and noticed the intro -- with the old, bearded Kong member -- seemed very pixelated to me (to ensure I am using the right term, I mean I could see actual square blocks making up the character, thus making him, for lack of a better term, blurry, inchoate). I also noticed the graphics for the gameplay itself just didn't seem that great for a title that was praised for its look.
I noticed some pixelation on the Super Ghouls and Ghosts title as well during the intro, and on Super Metroid. I checked some video of the titles, and I think I'm okay, but it is still hard to tell. I am asking this because I want to make sure neither my television nor the SNES unit is malfunctioning.
Thanks...
Could you take a picture? I might try and fire it up on my original snes on my big flatscreen and compare. What ive noticed is that any original 3d games like from n64 or psx do not hold up well on flatscreens and fake 3d might be same way

That's the greedy bastard price. AtGames is asking $79.99 or $99.99 for the Deluxe edition (includes paddles). You can probably find them for less at Bed Bath & Beyond or Sams.
Our local Best Buy has the regular Gold edition for $69.99.
See my post on last page. They arent the gold or activision, but sams has regular deluxe with paddles for 40.

What I am thinking is to eventually produce a version of Sick Pickles for physical release.
I noticed one person has been selling a 2600 program as a plastic bag with a PCB and printed label you have to cut out and apply to a cart shell you provide. If that were an option at a lower cost would anybody be interested in getting their copy of sick pickles that way?
I liked the Defend your castle idea personally!

I have been unable to find any site other than AtGames to order it, and of course, it has yet to say "in stock"- not to mention you'd be paying the full $80 to get it from them directly.
Only the "normal" Gold edition is up for pre-order on sites like Target, Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, etc. Bed, Bath & Beyond- who typically has a healthy stock of these in stores at a discount price (plus offers regular coupons)- only is listing online the standard def Flashback 8, and Target is stocking it in-store plus the new Portable as well.
I agree 100% that there is some inherent confusion to this year's lineup. I am, for the most part, very happy that AtGames is clearly putting more effort into their product line this year, however, I'm also frustrated because of the varying game lineups and controllers for the different consoles.
Here's why I am frustrated: 1) I don't yet have a working classic Atari wired controller, which the standard def FB8 happens to have a pair of. 2) I don't yet have paddles, which are $30 apiece and out of stock at AtGames- this is the biggest incentive to go with the "Gold Deluxe" (non-Activision version), which AtGames lists at $100- when you break it down that's a decent deal, however... 3) The Activision edition is arguably the best console offered, offering a total of 10 more games than the normal Gold version... however, it jettisons some of the best titles such as Jungle Hunt, Frogger, and Space Invaders- all I wish to play in HD. 4) Pac-Man and Dig-Dug only appearing on the Portable and not on the home consoles is understandable for financial reasons for AtGames- that's why the title options fluctuate- but not offering such popular titles on the more expensive models is odd. Also, the purist in me wishes the original 2600 version was the version offered by AtGames; I think they sometimes mistrust the power of keeping it simple and true to the originals.
I'll probably end up swinging for the Activision version, but I wish this wasn't an oddly tough decision to make! I shouldn't have to own multiple 2017 FB's to possess all possible games and features. I hope next year the product line is less complicated. Ideally it would look something like this: 1 HD unit/ 1 SD unit/ 1 portable unit, with "deluxe" options (paddles/ wired controllers etc.) just as they offer every year. Last but not least, there should be a clear "top of the line" model which has everything the other "lesser" models has, and then some: a clear winner. It's understandable, for reasons others have articulated on these forums so well, that AtGames lacks cartridge & SD card support for the home consoles; some features such as that should be locked within specific models so future consoles can be produced. But asking whether the Activision or Gold version is better is to me like asking if apples are better than oranges.
Go to Sams and get the regular deluxe 8 for $40. You get both wire joysticks and paddles.

I think you have to walk through and or lead the skeleton through the text in the haunted house map section of game 3. Who are Matthew Johnson and Jonathan Rose? They aren't listed in the special thanks section at the front of the manual which I have been using to determine the order to pass through the names with Play Return to Haunted House being the last as it is the last credit in the manual on page 3.
This is like the only hack i have considered getting. Worth it?

Release candidate 4 is in the first post. For those that try it on their home setup, please let me know if you encounter any glitches running it on your equipment. Thanks.
I advise not playing this build.

I want this so bad!
