  1. I must say, I think I actually prefer to hear that the comics are a great deviation from the actual games.

Those comic books have already been written and drawn, it's nice to see these Atari properties being inspiration for something "new".

Unfortunately, I have ZERO interest in them, and I seriously doubt there will be enough demand for these from other people for them to really "hit big".

It'll be another niche item for Atari collectors, and in this case, comic collectors too.

Maybe time will prove me wrong though.

I don't think it will prove you wrong. I'm probably the only guy or one of two who got the first swordquest at my shop.

  2. I collect comics and I got swordquest number 1. I was thinking it might be a sword and sorcery comic. I was surprised that it wasn't but in the same way I liked that it wasn't or how it deviated.

I however have much more that I read and wasn't interested enough to keep going. Had no interest in centipede.

Honestly you could make an interesting sword and sorcery story from swordquest. I do not think the same about centipede so it's probably good they don't do a straight comic adaption.

  3. What may help by means of demonstration, the video playthrough in the provided link contains bookmarks for each round and level; minus the hidden (Level 6) one - that's bookmarked in a separate video. ;)

It demonstrates the techniques MrBeefy mentioned, among other things. Just click the "SHOW MORE" under the video description and this list will appear:

Every section of the game hyperlinked for convenience. :)

Maybe we should make an old fashioned Bentley Bear game guide with secrets and techniques lol.

  4. I know to let them down and turn around and shoot but what to do with the 4 other guys on uneven terrain that I can not shoot thru. If I have to jump to shoot them the bees float up after me and then I run outa room as I shoot under the bees and they kill me diagonally if that makes sense..

Lots of practise and retries will help.

If you have more than one or two baddies on the screen you are going too fast. Stop as soon someone appears. On heavy jumping levels try to run to the edge and stop before you jump. That way you see baddies before you jump over. Some of the bees you can kill out of the air if on a high enough platform before they drop.

  5. Those freaking bees are Aholes. I have found if your weapon is not upgraded level 1-8 is almost impossible because of the red kangaroo buggers and bees and green flying worm guys all at once.. I must be tired as I am usually better at these types of games.

The manual says it best when it says don't run through super fast. When I see bees I stop and let them come to me and dash in front of them turn around and blast them. Coyote I just spam them with jewels as they continuously jump when you shoot.

  6. I've actually left my 7800 sitting on the title screen for a couple days now, playing it intermittently. I'm currently on 2-7. Those Kamikaze flying heads are the bane of my existence. They are so freaking fast when they take off I almost don't have time to dodge, and rapidly shooting pellets is how I currently fend them off, but sometimes it survives between shots.

Try and get it where your shots aren't falling down holes but hitting another platform. If you do that you cam keep a steady stream. Also since they follow you if you jump and do a shot or double shot as you are falling they more than likely will drop down into your shot (second one won't work if they've already zoomed at you.

  7. As a general rule, I enjoy the Plug and Play systems. If nothing else, they make a great xmas gift or birthday gift.

LOL, because every genesis gamer loves to play "meatloaf rotation"

For the new genesis flashback they could just throw in the old genesis game Super Bowling, it's fun and better than fight or lose lol

I like the rotation of my Meatloaf album in my record player. :P don't think it's the same though...

  8. Congrats! Please keep the way to trigger the easter egg to yourself... for now. :D

The um intro music was a nice touch too! And no problem ;)

  9. I'm not big on texting strangers, but I can try shooting an email if he doesn't get back with you guys.

But it's further away than I first assumed (thought it was a local suburb), like an hour+ away. With my work schedule I doubt I'd be able to go for a couple weeks.

    Never got back to me

  10. You can buy the burner with the Multicart. It's not that expensive and it will work for any of the multicarts that Mateos makes. All together, the burner, the 7800 multicart, and shipping is around $80 if I remember correctly. So, around the same price as a rare 7800 cart, like Commando and 2 or 3 common carts, like Dig Dug or Joust. Until we get a 7800 version of the Harmony, this is the best option there is.

Well craps. May have to invest then. Damn atari stuff burning a whole in my pocket. This only works on 7800 games correct?

  11.

    Step-by-step direction from the developer.

    Demo here.

Well I don't have a burner. Guess I'm out of options.

Personally I love food fight. The wife and I had fun tag teaming Robotron. I only have it on multicast but Ninja Golfbbqold. Fun golf beat em up hybrid. I also like mean 18.

As far as homebrew go get Pac man collection if you like that. I love Bentley Bear which is a platformer to be released soon (reminds me of adventure island in ways). I haven't played T:ME Salvo much but it seems like a cool shooter like Robotron. If you like berserk on 2600 Frenzy is a no brainer. Really I've liked all of PMP games I've bought so far.

  12.

I have the exact same shelf. However I set mine up vertically because I find putting your shelf on its side might cause your games to fall all over the place especially the way you've stacked them. Interesting you've apparently glued all your action figures to the shelf to keep them from falling ;)

I'm not sure why but posting pics here always messes up the rotation. :-P

  13. I get what he means though. Would you rather have a bowl with just a handful of cherries in it or a bowl with a handful Cherries covered in dog shit just to fill up the bowl?

That makes it sound as though the games ruin the normal ones, which isn't the case. I don't play them on my handheld. Some may be okay (if I would give them a shot) some may not. However, their existence on the handheld doesn't take away from the regular games I like.

I just dont see the point in complaining about that part, or not buying it due to that part. Them being gone will add nothing to the system.

I kind of get the sound thing, but in the same regards just go buy an actual system and track down the games they include. The price point has been okay with the amount of games they've included. Last time I saw one of the phantasy star games they cost almost the same price as the atgame system that has it on there with some other good ones.
