  1. So been playing some 2600 with my son. Too young to really operate things himself but gets it when dad says push the button. I'm looking for games that will work well with him shooting and me steering.

Right now the three games that seem to work for us are Space Invaders, Galaxian, and Seaquest (hardest of the three if he doesn't shoot regularly) :(

Any other ideas on shooters like Space Invaders or Galaxian. Or maybe another game/type of game to try?

True true. For now, I don't like to talk about things until there is a playable demo.
I don't wanna be the person who talks ideas and nothing comes of it. At least a demo, I say. So I shall wait and talk vague. LOL
It's 2D adventure...rpg...thing. The likes of Zelda. The likes of final fantasy. Graphically and story-wise, nothing like those games. I'm hoping to have a demo done by end of summer tho. then I can free myself to work on two projects.

I get not wanting to talk about it much.

I think it's funny there are still comments. It enjoyed making it, so it's nice people enjoy playing.
It's motivation to build another someday. It's easy to drown in passion. I gotta keep it real. One at a time :D

That would be cool if you revisit it or even go the 7800 route.

I agree, I don't think it would be that hard to learn. Well, I'm sure it's not super simple but you know what I mean.  lol
I have learned a few languages over the years, I don't find it that hard lol logic is logic. Just gotta take the time to understand how it needs to be written.

    You so kind :D

Although, the double sprites were a pain in the butt. Which goes back to Tidus's comment. It pushes the 2600 but, surely the game would feel more at home on something like 7800 or after. 7800 seems like the logical next step.

The boss is pretty big, I enjoy him.

It's for PC. More so an adventure game that I need to get out of my brain. The idea has been nagging me to do it for years, so now I am lolll I choose PC because I don't wanna use all my game ideas on retro systems. I'd like to have a game that runs on modern hardware as well. And keep the trash idea for systems I grew up playing. That is the plan anyway.

Sounds good. You should still put a blurb out on it even if not 2600.

SWEET! Did you ever get to the boss, Junkhead?
    - You need 9000 points, and he is in the "factory" and in a room with the "door on the right" LOL
I only recall one person telling me they beat him.

Currently, I am working on another game, different concept, and not for atari. Perhaps rude to talk about that here, so I won't.
I can't pick this one back up even if I wanted, because the script is lost to time. I'd have to rebuild it from scratch. I'm dumb like that. Maybe someone knows who to get it from the game? I do not.
The concept amuses me still, I do wanna revisit it. Not sure how tho.
I been looking at other ways to bring it back to life, but again, it's probably rude to talk about non-related Atari things here. :D

I can make you a t-shirt with some of the art on it if you want ? lolll jokes

No I did not make it to the boss but now I have a goal!

What platform are you working on for your current game?

I never even knew this forum existed until I read about it in a Facebook post about a month ago, completely unaware of the drama that takes place in these forums.

There's a good bunch of people in here and it's a great resource to get the latest behind-the-scenes info.

    No need for an apology.

    Cheers!  🍺😁👍

As a whole this site doesn't have a ton of drama from my experience. Sometimes certain forums and threads have more than others. I would encourage you to explore beyond just this thread if you have any interest in retro. I mainly stick to 2600 and 7800 and have great experiences there and have loved some great programming in homebrews. I encourage you to check out some other threads!

No, I don't think you were ever agressive (even though to be honest, I don't always have time to read your riveting posts 😅). But I guarantee you several members claimed MrBeefy's wife doesn't exist, because they think it's him that finds Amico too expensive, not her.

I'm totally Delusional despite all the evidence that she and my kid don't exist I continue to have a deep conviction that they exist. It doesn't help that I suffer from Hallucinations in which I can see both them running around the house. Out of all my problems though, I wish I didn't also have the auditory hallucinations to go with my visual ones. That way I wouldn't have to listen to her bicker at me if I don't take out the trash or whatever.

My mental health stability or maybe instability as some like to claim aside, I've been hoping to hear about the baseball announcement for some time. Out of all the baseball games there are two of my favorites that stick out, RBI on NES and the first Ken Griffy Jr game on the SNES. Both simple and fun gameplay that I think the Amico could replicate.

Here's a data point.  I work for a large corporation that manufactures and sells products in China.  Most of our China facilities reopened with functioning supply chains back on Feb 10th.

Some companies will try to tell you it is uncertain over there. But yeah I've heard of some having no issues in manufacturing.

I wouldnt give them a dollar

I gave them $3.50 as you can get the additional games for $2.50. $3.50 on Steam vs $300 on a unconsole that seems to be in limbo.

Support the things they do right and maybe they won't go on anymore unconsole adventures.

LOL.  Werner's making a list, and checking it twice!  For those of you not on his scumbag list, what's your excuse?  But yeah, I'll double down on my scum baggery.  In spite of COVID 19, Polymega is shipping units to beta testers.   The virus is absolutely a very convenient excuse to cover Atari's incompetence.   They've been stalling for time since the get go, and this pandemic gives them a blank check to drag it out indefinitely.

I really wish it would ship. There would have never been any dumb taco talk if Atari had just either A) had a console together before launch or B) been more upfront with their updates and posts. I kind of wanted one of these until it became quite the crap show. What are we four months past the second delayed release date?

Covid shouldn't have even been an issue for release but it kept getting pushed back to it being where we are right now. I really do hope it isn't a piece of junk as I know there are some good fans. I would be angry and disgruntled if I shoveled out that much for this show.

Haven't posted in quite awhile, I've kinda run outta steam on this thread.  But I had to go to Walgreen's today, and right next door is a Taco Bell, so I figured, what the heck, I haven't had fast food in weeks because of all the recent BS.

I don't let the dog into the office, and 90% of the time she abides, but once food is present the rules go out the window.  She is a pathetic beggar. And please pardon the clutter.  :)
