  1. I suck at this game but I can't help but kind of like it. The CV version is definitely better than the 5200 version but neither is a great game. What's kind of dumb about it is that you can score more for running around in circles than you can for completing the level quickly. I doubt I'll get any more games in this week, I'm getting crushed at work. 18,750
  2. It's pretty good although Gravitar is pretty much unplayable due to the screen zoom. Even if you zoom all the way in, everything is really tiny on screen. I guess if you sat 1 ft away from the screen it would be playable. I got it for $5 a couple of years ago, the rest of the games on it are well done.
  3. It looks pretty easy, even for me who's no expert at this. I've actually been delaying doing it because my CV is having a controller problem. I think I need to replace the ICs for the controllers but I'm a little nervous about doing it and possibly screwing up my CV completely. As it is, if I keep the Roller hooked up all of the time, the controllers work fine so I've just been doing that. Maybe I'll take a shot at the video mod this weekend.
  4. HDMI seems like overkill for a CV so I say VGA. What I'd much rather see than either of those is a cheaper and easier composite solution.
  5. 5200 Super Breakout is a good game although I still prefer using paddles on the VCS version. 5200 SI is a good game too but I think much of the negative comments comes from it's straying from the arcade SI. I think it's further from the coin-op version than the VCS SI. If they had an option where you could play a balls-on accurate arcade port or the new "enhanced" version(like they do with modern compilations), I think it would be more warmly received. I like to play 5200 SI with the trakball just for a different play dynamic.
  6. Along those same lines, does anybody else sometimes play the same game across a bunch of platforms in one sitting just to experience the differences? I'll get in the mood to play something like Centipede on the 5200 and then end up playing it on the 5200, CV, 7800, VCS, DC Atari Anniversary, etc.
  7. Everything mentioned is good and I'll add: Space Channel Five Expendable Mars Matrix Mr. Driller Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  8. Pointing out that you're being an elitist on a high horse when you are in fact doing just that could be called stating the obvious but I'd hardly call it braindead. What was so constructive in this that we should have taken your advice? 1. You call most of the community dumb. 2. You allude to P&R being some kind of private club but anybody can ask to be let in. Plenty of different opinions fly around even among the people who generally agree, so this groupthink you mention is just plain untrue. Also, even if I agree with somebody on something, they still might post something I didn't know about a topic which is in fact learning. So, again what was constructive in your post? The last thing I'll mention is this although it's not aimed solely at you. Almost everybody who bitches about P&R being something bad doesn't actually participate in any of the threads. How can anyone take that seriously?
  9. Hmmm... sinister joke, I like that! As for the high horse, since you're claiming only a select few here are bright enough to discuss anything, it seems pretty accurate to me. But then again obviously myself and most others here pale to your superior intellect and skills in debate.
  10. Careful you don't fall of that high horse buddy.
  11. I like the VCS version but I LOVE the CV version. I always liked RnR in the arcade so when it came out on the CV, I was jonesin' to bring it home. It still gets a lot of play today.
  12. Is there an 8bit version of Food Fight? http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=2036 Thanks, I thought it was 7800 only
  13. I had a Jaguar for a while but I just couldn't get into the games. I liked a couple like Iron Solder and Tempest but that's it. I sold mine a while ago in my annual spring cleaning of stuff I don't play anymore. About the only thing I really liked about it was the controller.
  14. I liked them all with StarFox 64 and the SNES one being my favs.
  15. I've tried everything I have but if after a few games I'm not interested, it will probably sit on the shelf for a long while before I give it another go.
  16. I go through waves with consoles. I'll get into a certain console and games for a couple of weeks and then switch to something else. Even so, I never get to all of the games I have and don't want to since over the years I've picked up some really crappy games on all of my systems. No point in playing something that stinks when there's something good right next to it on the shelf. About the only constant use ones are the DS, VCS and CV.
  17. I have Supercade and Arcade Fever. Supercade is just beautiful but it really does belong on a coffee table because nobody wants to lug that thing around.
  18. It looks like Helvetica Neue 95 Black. you have to manually adjust the kerning on each letter though to get it to look like the INTV boxes. Here's Nightstalker in that font over the box graphic.
  19. Anyone who would openly ask such a thing should be paddled. Thanks!
  20. I have to say after playing GM a lot since I got it, the frustration level has gone WAY down. It' still a difficult game, but it doesn't feel " near impossible" anymore. It's a good thing it has the continue though.
  21. I've been playing Toyshop Trouble for a year now at least a couple of times a week. It's a great game but I can't seem to get past Dec. 24th. That's OK but I'm really curious about the hidden screen and in one of the other threads I read about a clear screen cheat. So c'mon somebody help out a moron who can't figure out these things. How do I see the hidden level and what's the clear screen cheat?
  22. I saw the Ramones about 12-15 times over the years. I can't remember the exact number. There were quite a few years there where you could see them 3-4 times in NY-LI area in the same year. I never saw the Stooges but man, I wish I had.
