The triangle one was very cool. I was so jealous of this kid, I was forced to hang around with due to my parents, because he had one. He hated it but I thought that steering wheel was the coolest. That spoiled jerk eventually had a VCS, Intellivision, AND an O2. Man, I still hate that guy.

There was a DOS game called Diamond Dash that was exactly like Lode Runner except for the name(obviously) and the gold was changed to Diamonds. Otherwise it was the same game. I'm sure this method could be applied in this case.

NY State approves of the VCS and Activision
joeybastard replied to joeybastard's topic in Atari 2600
Oh it has nothing to do with Activision's Megamania. I was just checking the Lotto numbers and saw that pic on their website. I laughed at the coincidence of the name. -
Gameboy Advance Recommendations
joeybastard replied to lonesome_pa's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I really like the Game & Watch Gallery carts too. Fun little games that are easy to learn and good to pass the time. Right now I only have G&WG 4 but it's pretty cool. The longer you play, the more games you can unlock. I'm not sure how many are there are total yet because I haven't unlocked them all. I loved the original Game &Watch as a kid so these are a fun nostaglia trip for me. -
Gameboy Advance Recommendations
joeybastard replied to lonesome_pa's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Glad to see somebody else likes Advance Wars. Whenever I have mentioned it with friends, nobody liked it but me. -
I like the graphics design of the early Atari Picture label carts with the cheesy paintings of what you were supposed to imagine while you wre playing. Super Breakouts astronauts are a prime example of this. http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?Sof...wareLabelID=527 Other wise I have a thing for Tigervision carts. I like their logo and the little grips on the carts.

I really like Advance Wars but I don't know anybody else who does. -
Worm War 1 is fun and Inky, you're right Dodge 'Em is a great great game I forgot to mention.

I have to shamefully admit that I've never played the Mythicon games outside of an emulator (although I now have 1 of the carts). I rarely turn on the sound in Stella because it doesn't sound right to me. I have never heard the music in any Mythicon game but I will check it out now. Thanks

I liked a lot of the early games other people seemed to hate. Human Cannonball, Sky Diver, Street Racers. I like Reactor and Defender too. In fact I'm always puzzled by the abuse it takes on the boards.

Laser Blast isn't very good but it's definetely better then any Mythicon game. As to the topic Kepone started... I was very inspired by the VCS as a kid to try and learn to program computers. I wanted to grow up and work at Atari because I thought it was like this magic think tank of video games. I never did learn to program much, not for lack of trying but I'm just too dumb. Now VCS music inspires me all the time when I write songs. There's a definite talent the programmers had in making something so repetive interesting and catchy. I try to do the same with my songs although I don't think I'm as successful as the guy who did the Moon Patrol Theme. I love that music.

No Robotron is my biggest VCS letdown. I wanted it sooooooo bad as a kid.

Pitfall Harry is swinging onto the next-gen consoles
joeybastard replied to paul's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Seems like it, although I find no evidence of Samus from Metroid being a lesbian in Metroid Fusion. Maybe in Prime? I don't have GC -
This guys definetely seems like a spammer due to his post history. Perhaps there should be a screen upon sign up that suggests nicely where to post certain topics? I know I made a mistake on my first post and started a thread about trading a 5200 in the regular 5200 forum when it belonged in Marketplace.

Pitfall Harry is swinging onto the next-gen consoles
joeybastard replied to paul's topic in Modern Console Discussion
If there was I never saw or played it. I have to admit much to my shame as a collector I don't own a PS or PS2. I was never that impressed with either so I'm not in a rush to add it to my collection. -
Pitfall Harry is swinging onto the next-gen consoles

I have to disagree here. If Pitfall becomes a 3D fist person thing that will ruin the franchise. Pitfall is side scroll. -

Why do I get the feeling Pifall Fair.. er I mean Harry is going to rescue Sigfried and Roy in this version? -
I never equate Nintendo with kids games. I equate Nintendo with quality games, as least for my tastes. If a game is totally kickass with impressive gameplay, story and replayability, who cares if the characters are cute cartoony things? I think Nintendo will always be around in one form or another.
