  1. I picked up an SMS at a Flea Market last year for $10 with a gun, trac ball, regular controller and 2 games. I have been very impressed with this system and regret not having it when it came out. Since then I've been snapping up SMS games and have never payed more then $3.99 for one. In fact over last weekend I bought 4 gun games and Phantasy Star at a thrift for $3 a piece with box and booklet. A truly underrated system. Now if I can just find a Saturn cheap, I'll have every US released Sega system
  2. Hey in the first pic is that Nukey Shay on that Mad Dog McCree box!
  3. I got that book as an Xmas gift from my wife. It's a great book and well worth it for the pictures alone. People that visit us almost always pick it up and browse thru it with the same result: "Remember this game?!?"
  4. I agree. A lot of his site is funnier then this. The stuff he wrote on the Superfriends is beyond hilarious, especially about Wonder Woman and Aquaman. This was still pretty good to read during my lunch break at work though.
  5. I think the problem with what you guys are suggesting is that the current consoles already have CD(DVD) compilations like Namco Museum, et, al. I doubt the majority of people would buy another whole console when these are an option. Infogrames will keep releasing games under the Atari name and that's it. They aren't a hardware company (That I'm aware of anyway) so the hopes for a new Atari console seems to be zero. I would like to see the name used for what it is, a widely recognizable brand name. They should make a deal with some manufacturer of elctronics and start releasing Atari DVD players, MP3 players, etc. Apple should probably do that too, since their name is so well known.
  6. I LOVE DESTRUCTOR!!! I had the same problem although I had the book. It just took me forever to bother to read it. My vote for this topic is The Sims (so incredible dull and slow to me) and Myst. I was amazed at the beauty of Myst and bored out of my skull playing it.
  7. I never owned the VCS Pacman until long after the system was out of production. I played it at other kids houses and thought it was a fun game. As a kid I never cared if the home versions looked like the arcade. I just assumed it was impossible to look the same due to the "computer" itself. As a naive(sp?) kid I thought the physical size of the machine was the reason. Basically, 6 FT arcade machine, more powerful then woodgrain VCS. Seems pretty stupid now when I hold my GBA
  8. WARNING! THIS IS NOT FOR THE KIDDIES OR THOSE AT WORK!!! A very funny article about porn games, nudity, etc. http://www.seanbaby.com/nes/naughty.htm
  9. I would definetely get: Jet Grind Radio MDK II Soul Caliber Mr.Driller
  10. As everyone else has mentioned WARLORDS, but I'd also add Bowling and Activision Ice Hockey. Drinking and those 2 go well together.
  11. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=484933 ATARI Speed reading course for the 400/800 http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=484953 Atati Lab Light Module (What is this?)
  12. I finally got to this thrift that is only open for 1 hour on Saturday(it's closed by the time I get off work during the week) and it turned out to be pretty good. Here's what I got, all for the SMS: Phantasy Star Rambo III Wanted Marksman(? title) I can't tremember and I'm at work Shooting Gallery They were $3 a piece and had the box &book. All except Phantasy Star are phaser games which for some reason I've really been into lately. I'm starting to really dig the SMS. They have some more I'm going back for on Sat.
  13. Is availability still an issue? I was in Target on Long Island on Saturday and they had 4 GC Broadband adapters. They were $34.99 each. I seemed to remember something about this on the boards and found this older thread. Is anybody is still looking, check your local Target.
  14. I didn't like any of the versions (Sega, PC, SNES?)of Mayan Adventure I played. It looks nice but I couldn't get into it.
  15. I hope it doesn't suck like every other Pitfall after PII. Has anybody ever played the arcade Sega Pitfall? It's one of the worst games ever.
  16. I'm pretty lucky if I can plug the controllers in correctly the first time. To paraphrase your status modifying the fishing controller would be unpossible
  17. Emulation is the only way I'll ever get to play some games ie. Coke Wins so I'm cool with it. I think as long as your not downloading or making copies of currently available titles it's OK. I doubt anybody at Parker Bros notices if I download Spider-Man for the 2600.
  18. The price is $25 but the shipping is $30! Ouch. I'll probably order them anyway.
  19. It is a great game but does anybody else find the sound of the kids gigling at the end kind of creepy? For some reason it make sme think of the twins in the Shining.
  20. I actually emailed Nintendo with some of my hopes for the next console yesterday after starting this thread. They told me thanks but we don't take unsolicited suggestions on out products. I understand they probably get lots of impossible or stupid requests but I hope somebody read it at least. I'm surprised I got a response at all even if it was automated. It does beg the question, of why have a suggestion email link if you don't want suggestions though.
  21. Anybody buy from Lik Sang? Are they trustworthy? I've heard of them a few times but have always been hesitant to buy outside of the US.
